Jake Johnson (New Girl, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Self-Reliance) and Gareth Reynolds (The Dollop, also on New Girl) don't feel qualified to give strangers good advice. Most of their friendship over the last 15 years has been based around dumb bits, but they do (for better or worse) want to try to help people out. Like your friendly local bartender or your tipsy uncle at a family gathering, Jake and Gareth are on the caller's side and trying to help.

If I could make a recommendation…Garth’s favorite guest Rick Glassman (Award winning serious actor, host of the Take Your Shoes Off podcast and uncontested star of television’s Not Dead Yet, Wednesdays at 8 P.M. On ABC) and Jake’s favorite guest is Lamorne Morris (Host of the Lamorning After Podcast, star of Fargo, sex icon and the other black guy from New Girl) are dear friends, some would argue, best friends. If schedules align, having all four of these comedic giants in the same place at the same time could be pretty special.

I’m convinced Connor actually quit his internship and is now gathering inspiration for his first feature film. Any other person would’ve left that air b&b during the first phase of roommates. I get the feeling he’s going to make this his permanent residence just so he can keep calling in lol

The Connor follow-up is pure gold and makes me think there needs to be a tier level of follow ups. There needs to be 3 Level one: the helped(only one time calling back for feedback/success story) Level two: a patient(reoccurring call backs) Level three: HELPERS they help you guys make short films/mini episodes of reenactments of their stories Or some version of the names.

Long time listener, first time commenter. I love the pod, I love what you guys do. I’ve listened to every episode and always make a point to catch up if I’ve missed one. So I couldn’t sit back when Rick comes at the group. And you don’t come at the Kev-man. Honestly I did not really enjoy Rick on the episode in the first place - he constantly made it about himself and talked so long and over everyone else. And then he follows up with being upset they started without him. You guys took some of the blame (don’t feel that you needed to) but that was kind of you. So I just need to do my part as a “Helper” and stand up for you guys.

Just want to point out that the TYSO (Rick‘s podcast) episode that Jake and Gareth were on was almost 2.5 hours with half of it being Jake interrupting with CGI requests and “we’ll be right back” moments. 😆 Respectfully, I do think Rick was done a little dirty. He should’ve at least gotten a heads up. Definitely would recommend allowing more time for people running late and/or small talk. Love both podcasts! “We’re Here to Help” has easily become one of my favorites. Thank you guys!! 🥰

Harley nails it. I think normies in the comments don’t like when neurodivergent folks express themselves. 😉 Rick is clearly stating he isn’t mad at anyone but he’s also obviously more animated than the other folks because he is trying to understand the structure of how they run things but not able to get to the bottom of that. Thus, tension. He, obviously, genuinely cares about being a good guest and maintaining his relationship to the folks on WHTH. I’m a “behind the scenes” person myself, so I really appreciate and respect running a forward moving/entertaining show. It’s a lot of mostly thankless work. I also really think Kevin had an opportunity to apologize to Rick for not being more direct but didn’t take it. Thankfully he was bailed out by Gareth describing it as a complex situation and Jake taking accountability for the show (ultimately) not having a structure. But hey, that’s show biz baby. Sometimes you’re late and that means you miss some of the party. Other times people aren’t truthful in an attempt to be polite and say “no worries” but they really mean “some worries”. Looking forward to Rick being on again. And have laughed more listening to WHTH than I have probably in the last 2 years, so thanks guys.

I like when theres a guest, i like when theres just garth and jake, but it feels weird to transition between those modes in the middle of an episode. All guest or no guest. I often click for the guest and I'm disappointed when they are on only briefly, but i also dont need to see the guest to click and watch. Just about what im expecting going into the episode (like in this case, i was expecting another rick glassmen episode).

The Rick call is a productive discussion and great example of neurodivergent / neurotypical miscommunication . Rick took "No sweat" literally when the situation was the opposite. @@elizabethdycus3859I’d also question the assumption that Gareth is “rolling in it.” Not to diminish what he does, he works a lot. Two podcasts, a touring comedian, and comedy writer for a show. I went broad with “entertainment industry” because OP’s post made me think it was coming from a “they’ve been on TV and know famous people, so they must be rich” assumption. Which is common, but faulty logic. Regardless, your point (paraphrasing): that they have a right to earn from their work, is spot on.
