He was. He put the fear of god into Gordon Ramsay, when Ramsay was an apprentice in Rangers.

It was a great shame that Jock Wallace was not a success a second time around at Rangers

The days when there were giants in Scottish football, not the pygmies who run the SPFL today.

Where were rangers in the league when he came back?

Rangers had won three, lost seven and drawn one league match - and according to the interview were near the bottom of the league.

So was it Jock who asked to be able to sign 'any' players of any religion (including catholics)?

Jock was motherwell manager & made no bones about wanting the gers job but they asked Aberdeens Fergie & Dundee Utds Mclean first which made him look like an after thought, then along came,,,Souness?!

I remember the interview when he had took over at Motherwell. His first game was against Rangers and he was asked how he felt. Jock didn't blink. He said....I've been a Rangers supporter since I was born and I'll die one... I can't imagine anyone coming off with a line like this nowadays. But then Jock was being totally honest. He was Rangers through and through.

Good God, Frank Gilfeather is only 38 here and still looks ancient.
