As an Astros fan, thank you so much for not overrating Pena. His excellent postseason has made many fans forget that he wasn't amazing at the plate in the regular season. That said, I think he has a very high ceiling.

@BiologyOutdoors he was no stud in the regular season. he was good but Marc is right on point with his analysis. Pena was a average SS at the plate, he never walked an could never lay off the off speed low an outside pitch so he struck out a lot

I think you meant to say. As a Yankees fan, I’m so glad you didn’t rank Pena in the top 10… lol… He took a totally different approach to his at bats when moved to the 2 spot the last month of the regular season and it only got better in the playoffs. Everyone will be talking about Pena as a top 5 guy by the end of the year. He has the same if not more potential than Correa.

Actually a little surprised you ranked Pena where you did, I was worried you'd fall into the ALCS WS MVP trap and put him too high. 12 is solid spot for a guy who started hot, got cold when the league figured out how to pitch to him, and picked it back up at the end of the season. Super excited to see how he grows.

Agreed, I expect Pena to find it more during the regular season cause he was amazing after ditching the leg kick but the 2.5 month stretch where he was pretty much useless at the plate cannot be forgotten. Still has more to work on and needs to learn how to walk but I hope he continues to kill it like he did in the postseason

As an Astro fan I gotta say that Pena ranking is bang on, if not a little high, these rankings are about the 2023 season, and while Pena had a phenomenal playoff run, likely the best hitter on the Astros during the playoffs, he has yet to prove that he’s some top 10 guy, you need more time than that unless you’re JRod or Rutschman. Good ranking, great glove, high ceiling, wonder where he ranks in 2024 rankings

As a Padres fan, I like that they've got 3 of the top 15 shortstops in the majors. I think Kim will do just as well at 2nd base as he has at shortstop, and I hope Tatis Jr takes well to a move to the outfield (I also hope they put him mostly at CF rather than LF because of his speed and his arm, and would rather see Soto moved to LF and Tatis in RF if he isn't slotted in at CF).

As a Braves fan, I'm surprised you ranked Vaughn so high because I wouldn't even put him in my top 25 shortstops yet. He's a beast offensively, wouldn't be surprised if he hit 20 homers with a good average, but his glove needs A LOT of work. If anyone could make a bad defender into a great one Ron Washington is the guy, but Vaughn is still getting used to the big league hitters. With Ozzie's recent streak of bad luck I wouldn't be surprised if he gets hurt again and the Braves decide to put Vaughn back at second and then call up Braden Shewmake. I love me some Vaughan Grissom and I think he's going to be a star for the Braves but shortstop might not be for him. I can see him taking Ozzie's starting spot if Ozzie ends up wanting a superstar contract once his current contract ends. There's no way the Braves pay Acuna AND Ozzie, especially since Acuna's contract might be around $30 mill a year.

Love the ranking videos. So proud of the Giants organization for finally opening up the purse strings, and signing a superstar. My big Fellows! MyGiants! The team still needs a true CF, a solid backup catcher, and another late inning relief arm. But as presently comprised, a solid 84-88 win team, and that probably means playoffs in todays' MLB. P.S. Oneil Cruz has such a cannon! But has anyone else noticed he double-clutches on every single play? If Cruz can iron out that glitch, his defensive prowess will skyrocket.

3 Mets infielders made his Top 5's at their respective positions. Lindor (3), McNeil (3), Alonso (4), with Escobar (21) and McCann(25) so far. Both Escobar and McCann could be bumped out by the Mets top 2 prospects this year (Alvarez, Baty). Remainder of Roster predictions. RF - Marte (6), CF - Nimmo (7), LF - Canha (11), DH - Vogelbach (13), SP - Verlander (1), RP - Diaz (1).

Thank you for adding Tatis. People really was acting like Kim is better or on the same level as him but it’s not even close. I love Kim but he doesn’t compare.

Lol literally no one is saying Kim is anywhere to Tatis' level. Defensively Kim is far better, but obviously not nearly as good offensively.

Expected to see Peña in the top 10. Let’s also not gloss over the fact that he won a Gold Glove his rookie year. He struggled all year with the slider but in the playoffs it wasn’t even an issue. Along with WS MVP he was ALCS MVP. Made big play after big play on the field. It’s hard to imagine the Astros win it all without him.

Hopefully the Angels are smart enough (they're not) to use Gio mainly as 1B/3B/DH. Only moving to SS/2B in a pinch.

Bo Bichette is such a viability at SS defensively it really negates his positives. Maybe 14 or 15. Thanks again for this.

As a Sox fan I may be bias but I just don’t think there is a universe we’re Willy Adames is better than Tim Anderson. Timmy I think has to be top 8 SS and I guess no one like BA but he hit .300 like come on. Dude started in the All Star Game. Kind of disrespectful
