To be honest the biggest winner's are Navia and Chevreuse for reviving older reactions and Furina and Xianyun for making older characters viable again.

freminet deserves so much more, one of the most fun characters also, relating to the notes on navia and chevreuse, freminet trys to enable shatter (it does not really work)

I'll say this much. 5*s aside, the 4*# in Fontaines are a much better improvement than the ones we got in Sumeru

I cannot believe how Furina gave a big impact in my account! I leveled up my level 1 Jean to Level 90 and now I use Furina with Jean all the time! I didn’t see the day where I will build and use Jean.

I agree about Freminet but also feel bad at the same time. He did his best with his gameplay perhaps it's because his role is like 4* Eula, I wish Hoyo will make another physical supporter who can buff physical damage like Xianyun who can buff plunge damage 😊

My favorite fontaine character is Freminet. He's very fun to play and can be super strong. But yeah, physical can be a bit underwhelming, I do love to see the big white numbers though!

I love Xianyun. She's fun to use in exploration. She make my Diluc finally getting some use. I could easily cleared half of floor 12 with my Furina, Bennet, Xianyun & Diluc team. Although still couldn't get 36* because my other team is not good enough yet, or just skill issue I guess.

C6 Lynette as an on field driver for Fischl and Yelan was a lot of fun when Fontaine first came out, was part of my first perfect abyss clear team in in Fontaine. Very fun to play, but can't argue that she isn't that great, or rather gets outshined

I think most people are severely underestimating Xianyun and should belong in defining, but otherwise I completely agree with this list. It's so crazy in contrast to Sumeru where most of the characters would be at the bottom end of this list, it's so refreshing to see how many strong characters there are in Fontaine. I feel like even Freminet is more user friendly than some of the version 3 characters

So far, I have pulled C1 Furina and C0 Nuevilette + Weapon for 5 stars. Pulling for their cons on their reruns.

I need Neuvi at C1 as well, was running him with Dehya, Bennet and Furina I put my new C1 Nahida on the team instead, I want her at c2, but lost my 50/50 I basically have Furina on all my teams.

Fontaine is my first region- started Genshin last patch of Sumeru and I love these characters. Furina has been amazing- even using Bennett as a healer. Added Navia to the mix and NatGeo is just a powerhouse for me. Xianyun makes Navia even better and she's very easy to build as a support. I've got Primos saved up for Neuevillette C1 and thanks to Nadhida Hyperbloom I feel like I can hang with any Abyss that isn't Wenut (F-that guy). Hype for Clornide and Arlequino is pretty massive, so really enjoying Fontaine.

I was more surprised with how generous navia's kit is in terms of scaling numbers.... Especially after what they did to dehya.

You talk about who bad the go construcs are but I hear that chidori will change that Aparently she will buff the number of geo contruct their damage and durability but apparently during the beta she got a dehya nerf

I just wanna say that 4 stars which they add during Fontaine are extremely good and much better from what we got while Sumeru. I quite like to use Lynette, Charlotte is an amazing healer and it's just fun to run around with her taking pictures of enemies dying. Chevreuse made the overload teams shine and Gaming is just a solid 4 star dps. So am quite content with the state of the 4 stars in Fontaine. I hope they will continue to be good

Wriothsley has really fun synergy with xianyun too! I use wrio, furina, shenhe, and Xianyun. Na2 Ca Jump cancel plunge repeat and finish with burst after about 4-5 plunges

Chevreuse just allows you to use Pyro and electro characters even when you haven't built them fully. The RES shred and atk buff she provides improves your team dmg and are super easy to proc. I think she's great to use early in your adventure when you don't have the artifacts to make your characters shine. Perhaps not the best for end game as overload isn't huge but if you don't have any anemo units with good vv she's great plus she heals so she consolidate a lot of roles into one

navia saved herself from geo, not the element. if you use any geo team without navia, it pales in comparison to other teams

My pulling choices in Fontaine basically flipped due to in-game experience. I was hyped for Neuvillette until I tried him out & passed because of his dull as dishwater combat mechanic. Wrio was initially a pass until I tried him out & had to have that playstyle in my roster. Furina was initially giving strong 'valley girl' vibes so I planned to skip as nobody needs that level of vapid in their lives but the 4.2 arc changed that. Lyney was always a pass, Navia was a maybe that became a 'hell yeah!' after the trial & I picked up all the 4* units of course. Next target of interest is Clorinde, for no reason in particualr...

Thats a really good list. I think I agree whole heartedly with that list. Furina was a absolute game changer for me. Not only is she low investment (though you get massive benefits from investing too), but she essentially can work with nearly any team comp. And for me personally hydro was an element I didn't really utilize much outside of Yelan and Kokomi, so Furina provided that missing piece of Hydro I needed. Fontaine has easily been my favorite core update (Enkanomiya was legendary) to date! I hope Chiyori is a great 4 star as her design is *chefs kiss*.

Navia - Open up geo reaction Furina - Open up healer and hp change character ( like wrio, neuv, or even hu tao), but well mostly healer Chev - Open up overload reaction. While still not that good, tbh it kinda become viable as long as you get her at c6. Xianyun - Open up plunge gameplay, mostly claymore user will suit this I mean, neuvilette is good character and all, but he is just him, dont open up more gameplay or anything, unlike what i just mentioned above. YOu just set up some buff (kazu, bernett) and some off field if you want (fiscl, xiangling) and just give him the field time. If you dont have c1, probably some shield and resistance like zhongli, but tbh, as long as you got c1, the others are only bonus. Have fun at first, but as time goes, quite boring (personal opinion) The others like trio siblings and wrio, honestly, i don't really care about them. I mean, not their character, but their gameplay. Charlotte only used for furina if you dont have suitable healer.

4:50 Hydro traveller is a viable alternative to Kokomi in Nilou bloom teams. That's the only usage I see for him.

The only Fontainian character I use like for Abyss is Furina. Then Xianyun and Gaming, who aren't even from Fontaine in this version. All other Fontainian 5 stars were a skip for me.

I'm not sure whether I should try pull for neuvi or furina on their rerun. Furina is a versatile support but I'm worried neuvi might get the eula treatment. At least we all know when archons will get their reruns. Maybe I'll try both and see where my luck lands lol

Between a reverse melt team with c1 wrio, c5 xiangling, c0 bennet and c0 xianyun and a plunge team with c0 diluc, c0 xianyun, c0 furina and c0 xingqiu, which team is better to use?? I’m relatively new to the game and don’t know which team to focus on building more, any help is much appreciated🙏🏾

Fontainians powercreep'd a lot of elements = pyro, hydro, cryo, geo.

Kind of crazy how much fontaine shook teambuilding in such a short amount of time. Every optimal team for almost every character has 1 or 2 from Fontaine now

I'm so sick of the "they need really good supports" argument that is so unfairly used in the game. It's so weird that people will act like it's a given that you have characters like c6 Xingqiu and Yelan to support Hu Tao, but then will act like having Bennett and Furina for Gaming is some insane ask. And yeah, I left out the big bird. The big bird is a really nice support for him, but is absolutely not needed, just as his c6 isn't. Though my Gaming is now C6 with the big bird's buff, I was still getting upwards of 60k per E without them, respectable damage by all metrics. I keep hearing Gaming's amazing synergy with supports being toted as a bad thing when in reality it's what makes him so amazing. There are few characters that synergize perfectly with the best buffers of the game. C6 Bennett check, Furina check, Kazuha/Xianyun check. The reason Gaming is so good is because of how perfectly he synergizes with existing units and people need to stop considering this a downside for new units.

This is the best batch of characters. Navia is my surprise underdog winner. Furina is best girl. Xianyun and Gaming mobility is fun. I pulling for Chiori just on her visuals. And hoping the rest of the characters are cool and do new things.

I thought I'm the only one who thinks about it lol. Yeah Wriothesly is fun because I really like Heizou's play style too. Heizou is my early dps. Now Wriothesly is my main. Gonna pull for C1 for sure.

I feel like charlotte would be better if she wasnt cryo because her instant healing is quite literally the best healing for furina and cryo isnt the best support option for alot of teams

For Lynette's C6, it's honestly pretty underwhelming. I have her C6 with talents at 9 9 8 just because I like her deadpan vibe. C6 infuses her AA with Anemo, but her AA modifier is just very low. On top of that she has pretty bad hit lag between auto attacks making the attacks just really slow, and maybe thats why theres no AA focused sword user. Ayato is using his clone, Yoimiya with bow, Scara/Heizou Catalyst, Keqing is CA and Alhaitham's dmg is mostly his shards. Her E travel distance is also quite short and bit slow compared to Sayu / Yelan / Xianyun. Quite unfortunate really, being the freebie.

As expected, the archon and Fontaine celebrity Furina is the most meta-defining character so far since 4.0. I would rank Xianyun 2nd place and Neuvillete 3rd just for one of the best teams in the game solo Neuvillete abyss run!

Watch out if you use Bennett with C6 Lynette. Bennett’s own C6 will override it with Pyro. The only C6 infusion that’s strong is Furina’s.

Crystallize is NOT worse. It's the "damage is king" mentality of players. Crystallize offers defense, but players of curse prefer to see big pp damage.

Hoyoverse just simply hates it's claymore characters. They make all the most meta and synergetic characters for all other weapon types but when it comes to claymore they just slap it on there without a care in the world.

Well Xinayun should not be on this list unless you meant all the characters that got released during Fontaine. Nevertheless Furina, Neuvillete and Navia are huge W's. Furina is amongst the best supports in the game, Neuvillete is stupidly strong having great synergy with so many teams and Navia is the best Geo DPS that made Geo rival other elements and reactions like hyperbloom. I'd love to say the same about Wriothesley but the fact of the matter is that he REALLY needs his 1st constelation in order to be comfortable for all players. Unless you got a built Thoma with Benny and a Dendro unit for burning reverse melt reactions it's pretty hard to play him at C0. His damage is there yes but it makes it harder for his self sustain with how rapid fast he loses HP to prock his healing ability. He is the most fun character to play in my opinion but they really gave him the Dehya treatment with the constelations.

Technically Xianyun and Gaming are not Fontaine characters. Freminet is not so bad...decently built he is niche, not too niche. And he is good at exploring.

Thanks for the video! Honestly, I think Xianyun deserves to be in Defining, because she doesn't only work really well with Furina, but also creates a new meta! And also Chevreuse is too niche to be called super solid. Even if she's against bosses or heavy enemies, she's OK (good), but nothing insane. And Kazuha is almost always better.

Leaks about chiori say she will play around geo constructs. She summons a puppet that deals damage and can summon a couple of additional ones depending on geo constructs nearby.

to me, the 3 best ones are chev, furina and xianyun, because they unlock cool new playstyles. under them, navia and neuvillette. navia for being fun and powerful, neuvillette for being powerful (but god he's dreadful to play as) under that, the other DPSes and charlotte. then the kitty girl on her own tier (sucks that she isn't very good. she's cute and her kit is pretty nice, it only needed better multipliers) hydro mc in the garbage tier cryo emo boy in the "worst character in the game" tier (not by strength, by personality and lore)

Gaming needing C6 shouldn't be too much of a problem considering he's a 4 star. Xiangling for example is one of if not strongest DPS in the game but is a literal trash without C4 and Bennett. Xianyun benefiting from Furina also shouldn't even be discussed as a potential issue considering both of them enables each other. Furina still has the problem that is she needs healer not only to survive but to reach maximum buff and Xianyun is one of the best healer in the game right now on top of the plunging mechanic and damage buffs.

HMC has a shield in his elemental skill when c4 or c6 but its trash.

Navia is what got me back into the game. I had quit genshin hell i didnt even know anything about new area or what ever but when i saw my cute sunglasses hat girl i was hooked. I came back as Furina banner was ending and i tried to get her because shes a archon instead got dehya so stopped playing for a little bit again came back to roll for navia and the gacha god shined upon me i got navia on first multi and i got her weapon 3 multis in after getting the story banner 5 star lance that has er and then bam multi 3 her weapon it was a sign. She replaced my diluc and i havent looked back at all she so damn fun to use as the main dps on team
