Blade runner 2049 is still my favorite movie until this day. It's a shame that it did not receive the box office support dune had. I would have love seeing a sequel.

for me incendies is the closest thing to competing with the combo of dune pt 1 + 2 but for very different reasons than why I love denis' sci Fi work. incendies is his work that hits me hardest emotionally, and I was moved by arrival and br2049 as well, I just think incendies is on another level in that regard which is really important in how much a film resonates with me. I recommend it to everyone with the caveat that it's not for the faint of heart

Sicario would be another director's masterpiece, just like Prisoners, or Blade Runner 2049, or Arrival... Honestly it being low is such a testament to Villeneuve's skill.

9: Polytechnique (Villneauve might have the most consistent filmography, so I still love this film) 8: Incendies (I haven’t seen this in a while, but I remember it being great) 7: Enemy (Say what you want about this one, but this film rocks!) 6: Prisoners (This ranking is getting tough! Wow! Fantastic!) 5: Blade Runner 2049 (Ik this is a hot take, but I prefer the OG. However, it’s still amazing!) 4: Dune (Part Two gave me a better appreciation for this movie! It’s confusing and long, but it’s really good) 3: Sicario (I like when Villneauve steps out of his comfort zone. It’s such a thrilling action film!) 2: Arrival (Mature Sci Fi at its finest! Its emotional, shocking, and mind bending) 1: Dune: Part Two (Is it recency bias? Maybe, but this film was mind blowing!)

Its hard to watch Arrival when every time near the end I get something stuck in my eye. 1) BR 2049/Dune 1+2 2) every other DV film. The man is a icon and a legend in the making.

Regardless of the order in which you place Denis movies i think there is no question that Denis has the strongest set of movies in terms of overall quality out of anyone. Every movie he has made has been great. Even a director like nolan has a few movies that were questionable (tenet and dark knight rises).

My personal list Blade runner 2049 Incendies Arrival Sicario Dune ( I think of them as one movie ) Polytechnique Prisoners Those are the only ones I’ve seen don’t think prisoners is a bad movie , just didn’t really work for me personally. Still don’t think based on what I’ve seen he has made a bad movie yet .

I’m not as BIG on Villeneuve as a lot of you in terms of his entire filmography being masterpiece after masterpiece, but here’s my personal list (from the movies I’ve seen): 1. Dune part 2 (10/10) 2. What about Maelstrom and August 32nd on Earth? Although saw the latter a few months ago and thought it was his worst (though haven’t seen all his films including Maelstrom) but it was his directorial debut I guess. Still a fine film just not as good as his others. My ranking: 1. Blade Runner 2049 2. Arrival 3. Dune: Part Two 4. Prisoners 5. Dune 6. Sicario 7. August 32nd on Earth

Villeneuve and Nolan are the rare directors who don’t have a bad movie in their filmography. I would say Fincher too but technically he’s the “director” of Alien3. 😎🍿

I had went to see dune part two today and I thought it was great but I’m embarrassed to say that I did kinda feel like I was going to fall asleep but not that I didn’t like the movie I stayed awake

If you really like him you need to see is french canadian movie, star with incendie because right now you are not ranking every movie... just the American one... it is like i love the beatltles but will only talk about the song they record in the US lol .
