Santa Teresa has always been my favorite Espada design. The devil horns and six scythes are so wild and fun, just an insane look all around.

@lucasegberto3691 well sure, but Kubo has confirmed that most of the Espada could achieve a 2nd release similar to Ulquiorra, given enough time. Some of their designs in the game are pretty badass

@@KNullHypothesis Yet barragan who is way older had no segunda etapa. Even if we assume because he was arrogant and was not training what about starkk? The only real reason why he was the only espada with a second release was because he was so popular and kubo like him most. Even in the fight It was pointless using a second release. I understand the design of the first release sucks but instead of making a horrible first release he should've deleted the primera etapa.

Tiburon looks like shit. It looks like something taken out of Kill la Kill, which is supposed to be a satirical show. It’s overly sexual to the point of being ridiculous and is a massive downgrade of Harribel’s base design

Very agreeable ranking! Personally I quite like Zomari's design, I would place that a few places higher, certainly above glotonera And ulquiorra's segunda etapa just above Los lobos (Both are AWESOME)

Honestly, I agree with Tiburon being so low on the list. Kubo just had to make sure the entire audience knew who the only female Espada was, just so nobody got confused. It makes me wonder why Kubo didn’t make all the female shinigami dress like strippers.

Also as far as I'm concerned, Tiburon makes no sense as a resurreccion design. Resurreccions are meant to be the Espada at their most hollow like, the closest to their original forms. She somehow loses her entire hollow mask and becomes even more human. People like it cause she's beautiful, but it's a design I struggle to take seriously with how obviously it trades sense for pandering. The anime only pre-arrancar design for her would've been the better design for her Resurreccion.

I wouldn't call it entirely based on pandering though, it's kinda cool when you ignore the big fin and the white side bangs on each side.

@@KNullHypothesis Yammy becomes a giant multilegged beast, Yammy and Nel both get animalistic features (I don't just mean animal theming, I mean furred body parts) to make them plenty non-human, Nnoitra gets multiple arms that he can grow out of him, and they all keep their masks and gain more hollow features on top. Harribel is a human woman in white bikini skirt battle armor, it just doesn't look like a hollow's resurreccion to me.

Clothes but feels more covered somehow and it's not part of of him not having attractive traits it's how Kubo chose to present him. Haribel feels like she had enough exposure to only have more then more again just meh it's meh

I actually despise Ulqi's first release. It's so ridiculously bland and disappointing and part of me feels like the only reason Kubo made a second release is because the first one was so unimpressive. I'd probably put it just above Luppy's? Otherwise I mostly agree with the list, though I think Syazel's should be rated around 6, it's suitably unsettling and creepy.

I assume the reason is the reverse, that Kubo knew he'd have a 2nd release and used the 1st to make the 2nd more impactful.

Hmm fair ranking by design… though at the end I started thinking “some of this COULD also be by Power but it depends which metrics are used… Not Everything is Just Réīátsū treated like Kí that some of us convince ourselves our Scouters are Totally Reading Accurately!
