10 years ago, Ryu Ga Gotoku Ishin was release in Japan. 1 year ago, Like a Dragon Ishin (also known as Ishin Kiwami) was released in the West. To celebrate these anniversaries, along with the channel reaching 8000 subscribers, we will rank over 50 bosses from both Ishin games, going as in-depth as ever. I really hope you'll enjoy it :)

With regards to the songs featured in this video, all of them are in accordance to the boss they are bound to. The only exceptions include songs that initially stemmed from Yakuza 0, which are not present in this video due to takedown-related oddities that have been on the rise as of late.

Thank you for watching! For anyone wondering why the OG Ishin footage looks "off", for lack of a better word, it was due to the gameplay being recorded via the Playstation Remote Play option. The game prohibits native recording unless you're in Premium Adventure, and since I don't have a capture card, this was the only alternative. Keep in mind, The OG game looks like a dream when you're actually playing it yourself on a PS4/5, so don't let the footage here discourage you from trying it. Also, I've added the names for each character's mainline counterpart to the timestamps so that the video is easy to navigate even if it's been a while since your last playthrough of Ishin. Hope you enjoyed this trip down memory lane and thank you once again for achieving this milestone! Cheers 🥂

Congrats on 8K subs! It's well-deserved, and that's one impressive video to celebrate the milestone! Just as a little correction, the first Nagakura Shinpachi fight doesn't use Eternal Fire, but Essence of the Sword, it's only the final chapter fight that gets the new track. Unless it's something that was changed through a patch at some point? In which case, disregard that part of the comment.

Congrats on 8k! Each time you upload a subscriber special, it seems like you're already halfway to the next one. I think a ranking/tier list of final bosses/themes would make for a really fun video. Another topic that could be really good is the best side quests in the series

Speaking of Ito Kashitaro, I don’t mind that fight, but what I don’t like is DE games having you fighting countless clones of him. I think about every sword miniboss in Gaiden uses that damn moveset.

Wish we had a way to play the original Ishin on new hardware. Really preferred the originals gameplay as bosses didnt have insane amounts of hyper armor allowing more combo's with enjoyable combat that's butchered in the remake.

Great question! Honestly, I'd probably just leave Takechi as a new actor. As for the other ones, Dojima Sohei could fit either of the two captains, so maybe have him as Ito and then Nishitani IIIrd as Kanryusai? These are the first ones that came to mind 😅

Sorry to break it to ya, but Akimoto is back in Gaiden :P Congrats on 8K and great tier list. I don't agree on some of these (from the perspective of only having played Ishin Kiwami, and the elemental properties not bothering me as much as they did to you) but it's all a matter of perspective. Ishin was pretty fun, even if a bit forgettable in the story for me (mostly because I am 100% unaware of the historical figures, events, places, etc. represented in the game, so most of its subversion of said historical aspects fly over my head) Lastly, why did the characters' hair turn golden when close to fire in your footage? It's been a long time since I played Ishin but I don't remember this happening to me.

Yes, the focus was on story bosses this time around. Though, OG Amon would easily go into S tier for the challenge and sheer fun of the fight :D

Nagakura doesn't actually use his theme in the first fight in Ishin Kiwami, only in the training match in the finale. Unless it's a glitch similar to the Kenmochi one in Kaito Files
