I used to like 15, but after playing 16, there's no contest, 16 is superior in every single way.

I actually think Strangers of Paradise’s story has really fun implications for FF1 and is what propelled me to finally play FF1 fully.

I just finished FF 16 yesterday and I'm absolute mindblown by this game. Great story, easy and fun combat mode, graphics, character design. I'm in love with this game. It never got to a point where I got bored. 10/10

FFXV is one that I need to finish, and this video inspired me! When I got a better gaming computer it really looks great and I was getting into the world and the characters. Driving around doing side missions was simply a good time for me. Great video!

IMHO ff7r remake's Combat is a perfect mix of the old school turn based and modern combat. and I generally prefer turn based.

All I’m gonna say is once you get to the first mother crystal and then the Hugo fight…the game is a gauntlet of incredibly unbelievable set pieces over and over. I was never once bored with FFXVI, there is always something new you’re getting. A new Eikon, a revelation through the story, a surprising twist, or an amazing boss battle…the game is purely enthralling.

The only FF i really played consistently years ago was Crisis Core.. I hadn’t gotten into the series until fairly recent times.. FF 16 was essentially the reason why I got ps5 a couple of months ago.. I noticed all the reviews on this channel are stellar.. I’ve only discovered it yesterday and I’m in awe of how skilled a reviewer you are and your taste is just impeccable

FF Type-0 was definitely a very experimental game that needed more focus. Some of the party members were considerably better than others, the RTS element in the game was unpolished and the difficulty spike between some missions was absurd. It only starts making sense when you realise that this was initially a portable game and was made with that in mind, because you can leave your party members training, put the game down and when you came back to it hours later they will have leveled up noticeably, cause f*** grinding in this game 😂

Good job bro. I am playing FF16 currently and even though I don't particularly care for the cinematics or story in video games in general, the combat is just really great, the game looks superb with it's graphics and design and I just really liked the skill trees in the game in general.

The GOT comparisons in terms of tone feel silly the further you progress through FF16's story as it definitely becomes more and more Final Fantasy in a beautiful and somewhat classic way. I loved it to bits and It is the best FF story we've had since X imo.

Hi Jonathan, If you havent heard, XVI has been updated; you now the option of turning off motion blur. FF7 is my favorite game, too. Loved the Remake. I was skeptical, so i was relieved that i loved it. I thought the switch to action-rPG would piss me off. The combat is fun! Counting the days to Rebirth.

I agree with your assessment although 7 remake in new game plus doing the arena to finally get the last weapon upgrade was were I stopped the 3 vs monsters of legend is so ridiculously hard after a couple days of trying I put it down besides that I loved it just didn’t wanna play new game plus without being able to max out my sword

I haven’t played all the Final Fantasy games but this is how I would rank the ones I did. 1. Final Fantasy 12 2. Final Fantasy 16 3. Final Fantasy 7 Remake 4. Final Fantasy Crisis Core 5. (I haven’t played Final Fantasy 9 since I was a Kid but I do remember liking it so I’ll put it in 5th place) (Final Fantasy 15 is better than 13 but feels a lot shorter)

The reason its called Final Fantasy, is because it was the final game that square was releasing as a last ditch effort before the company fell into bankruptsy.

Play Lightning Returns, the learning curve is harder because of the doomsday clock but it actually fits with the story, don't feel bad to play with a guide or on easy mode. Side quests are bland but they all are in the context of saving a person's soul which makes some genuinely interesting. It's also technically an open world that lets you tackle the four main quests in any order. And it made me like Lightning, not as hot female who is strong but as a person who is lonely without knowing it and who struggles to relate to people she cares about. The combat is also good and has enough incentives on playing offense and defense but it's also 1v1 focused and some bosses are just stagger races and DPS optimization. It's also the least polished of the trilogy though so be warned.

Type-0 is definitely number 2 for me.

I've played FF7 Remake, FF15, FF16, and OG FF7 (in this order). I've got to say I've enjoyed all of them, also finished none of them lol. Can't say I dislike any of them so far. Not sure how I'd rank them though. Plan on playing 9 and 10 as well as Rebirth and Crisis Core when I'm done my current ones on the go.

I think that crisis core reunion is more like a remake than a remaster, because the combat system is different in terms that is more focused on the action than the original game. It could be a remaster if it only changed the graphics, but the mechanics are changed too, it´s not just a graphical update. But the game is also pretty good.

You know I’ve played at least a little bit of most of the games you touched on actually, type zero didn’t really get very far in that one and don’t remember how I felt about it. 15 huge disappointment for me, but pretty sure I played at least four hours of it, despite how I felt, this was years ago. crisis core was probably the best one I’ve ever decided to play on a whim right after I played the demo for rebirth, I was completely obsessed with the simplicity and sheer Zackness💋💋 perfect prequel 16 oh my God, I really think I need to download that game from my library again and play it again, it really was so much fun. I enjoyed the combats so much. The story was decent. It was really too dark and not really Final Fantasy in my opinion . Brilliant voice acting. I do agree with that as well. And 100% agree with number one going to the remake, I never played the OG and I never wanted to because it looked so terrible graphically but I heard so much about it over the course of 20 years and having seen Advent children several times I had complete faith in the video game industry to make a definitive remake of this game. This just blew me away. The remake really is perfect the way it implements everything from the original but changed just enough to add an a mix of elements from the compilation I’ve heard that, some of the characters that were in the game were from books that they wrote and then of course we’ve got crisis core stuff going on❤ it’s the most amazing the best thing ever I love the music, just finished rebirth that was amazing as well. Can’t wait to see what they come up with next and just how much more they expand on from the other games.

Haven't played type zero (I do own it) or FFXIV, but I did play Stranger of Paradise. Last year; it was shyte!!!!

To share the only FF games that I consider worth to be played: FFI, FFIV, FFV, FFVI and FFX-2. It doesn't feel right to rank them, but FF1 and FFVI felt notably less enjoyable than the other 3. My experience is based on GBA, NDS and PS2 versions. Btw, FFII was the first FF game that I played, and I found it somewhat enjoyable, but broken. Well anyways, this is based on my personal experience: -FFI: great for being the first FF in the series, has good endgame content, pretty short and basic -FFIV: overall really solid, full of secrets, great endgame content, strong story and likable characters, superboss (Zeromus EG) that can be fought over and over again, some cancerous grinding aspects, some bad emotional scenes, a party of 5 is rather a bad design choice, about half of the 10 playable characters seem inferior -FFV: solid in most aspects, even more enjoyable than FFIV combat-wise, plenty of secrets, great endgame content with superbosses, great job system (that also allows unique customizations and the allrounder class to become insanely powerful and can fire multiple actions per attack), cancerous grinding to max out every class, superbosses can be defeated one time only, more combat than story focused -FFVI: solid in most aspects, full of secrets, great endgame content, strong story and some likable characters, plenty of characters and good customization through accessoires, some superbosses, some cancerous grinding aspects, some clownish characters, way too much damage per attack can be dealt with certain accessoire combos = lame, annoying boss intangir, muddy colors and ugly textures, FFVI is much less enjoyable after the first (100%) playthrough -FFX-2: has the best FF battle system ever = fast paced ATB with "only" 3 characters, has a great job system (that also allows switching classes during battle), has annoying minigames, few spots and aspects feel designed unfinished, the intro is terribly misleading and made me not bother with this game for many years

"Greatest MMO ever made" would be a title I gave to Final Fantasy XI, actually, but I know it's an unpopular opinion (I am painfully aware of it, in fact).

Yeah... Type 0, at the end, stills being a psp game, but what a game for a psp. Story? I don't know, I played it on Japanese for psp, so maybe it helped that I invented what was going on. And the slot machine at crisis core for me was my favorite thing since It got me excited when I got a Summon and their cutscene, but I'm also talking psp version, and since I played it a lot, a saw a lot of them. Also was better than spamming summons and drinking elixirs like older games, but yes, it can breake the battle flow.

Type 0 came out around the time I was learning Japanese and was one of the first games I've ever imported. I played the 2 demos they've released while in anticipation and using them to measure how my Japanese was improving. When the HD version was announced I was happy but it was a disappointing remaster because it looked awful compared to the original. I have a soft spot for the game but I'm willing to admit some of it's flaws and choices that could have been avoided.

AS far as the Final Fantasy Remake goes I had kinda gotten away from gaming for years...I had a ps3 and xbox 360 that I only played occasionally. But anyways this game alone is the very reason I decided to get a ps4, cause I loved the original game so so much lol and how fucked up is it I'm gonna have to buy a ps5 eventually just to play the second part of the remake 😩😭 very sad. Anyways yeah it's amazing seeing Cloud now cause years ago I fucking loved polygon style cloud and thought he was the coolest and my fav characters of the entire series....and NOW Cloud really is so badass. Him and all the characters just look and sound amazing. I truly love this game so much. The only way they could've made ithis game more perfect is if they had a side quest where Cloud has to put materia in Tifa's butt or something...that would be dope! lmfao 😂😂😂

from ff12 it went downhill when they changed/started messing with the battle system too much. anything ff below 12 are my favourite , ff6 ff7 original was my favourite. so im not a fan of modern ff games , except ffxiv wich is a mmo. i tried ff7 remake but i dont like the combat at all, maybe if someone fixes the combat with mods

You missed Lightning returns Final Fantasy 13 And that 1 monster hunter clone on the 3DS. I love type 0. I prefer to play it on psvita so I don't have to look at the ugly remaster. When you think of it in the context of a psp game it's suddenly a 10/10. The story is sadly something you gotta peace together

People overlook FF15 cuz of it's rushed story,but listen to me, thhe story isn't rushed, if you consume it in the way it is supposed to be consumed. Watching the anime, kingsglaive, novels, dlcs and some parts of comrades and other trailers and platinum demo literally explains majority of the story and lore that is skipped froom main story, including all that ffXV is better than FFXVI. as a standalone 16 does way beter job

Ff12 and 13 trilogy and 15 i didnt really care for and 11 and 14 were online only and 1-6 were too old school for me. Great series overall

i played ff7 remake and i liked it but i couldnt get as engrossed as i was hoping. Kind of a bummer for me considering it's technically a classic. The anime dialogue style wore on me quite a bit as well, and i know its a jrpg but still. Ff16 had a great mature tone with a fantastic story and i found the dialogue and characters much more immersive and likeable as well. You can nitpick both, but ff16 takes the cake for me

FF7 remake was a massive disappointment for me.... it just seemed like they lifted the original story and made a new game.. That isnt really a "remake" to me. I definitely had gotten the impression they would faithfully copy the original game, but with updated graphics, game engine, etc. The final escape from Midgar was a terrible shock. WTAF with this new "Weapon" level boss just to get out of the city. Oh well, glad I didnt invest my own $$ in it.
