Really proud as a Texans fan, of CJ Stroud’s growth and maturity as a QB. He just threw 5 TD passes and 470 yds on the Buccaneers defense, which a lot of their players have won a Super Bowl. The yardage stat broke Andrew Luck’s record for rookie passing yards in a single game. Plus, he has single-handedly lifted the Texans offense back into some form of respectability, as a tough out that will be the best conditioned and will make you fight every single play of the game. Can he do it against elite teams? We’re going to have to wait and see.

It’s honestly pretty hilarious how Mahomes has just transcended analysis this point. Anytime someone talks about him it’s just “He’s Mahomes, end of story”

Sam Howell has been a nice surprise. He seems to have fixed his only real weakness with his sacks. Of course we wont really know until he gets tested by a better pass rush.

It annoys me how he also doesn’t take in fact some of these QBs got horrible offenses or oline like fields and Howell sure they do take a lot of sacks and fields does hesitate on passes he shouldn’t but also hard to throw the ball when ur Wrs ain’t open and a defensive player is in the backfield almost immediately and same thing with Howell it ain’t even completely his fault he gets sacked a lot Washington’s oline is bad

im gonna advocate for my guy Aiden o Connell, who isn't nearly as bad that he needs to be singled out. he's a guy who caught Josh Mcdaniels eye for the same reason, that i liked him coming out. he looks like baby tom brady technically from frame to game, the reason he's a NFL player when most more talented guys aren't is he has a intuit feel for anticipation. it's reckon, its gonna keep him employed for a long time. He knows he's not athletic so like brady, he's really honed in on his pocket mobility and utilizing the skills in his footwork technically. it's what got him drafted, it wasn't a random accident he went to the raiders with McDaniel's, his skillset is a perfect fit for the offense formally. He got a roster spot as a rookie, of all the rookies playing this year, he's the one player that benched the incumbent starter, he had a good preseason, doesn't look much worse than any other normal rookie, he's won the locker rooms trust, and abnormally, he's already started a game in his career, again, its not an accident. at a baseline level, he can play, and i'm offended you have him two tiers below a lot of players with higher ceilings than him (Zach Wilson, Desmond ridder, etc.) when his floor is just as good as theirs if not better. they aren't even outplaying him, they're just in better situations with more reps. thankfully you have time all season to watch him and correct this error in eval.

As a Steelers fan, to answer your question: I think it’s tough to say if Kenny can be the future until we see him with a competent offensive coordinator. He does show signs that he can be in that tier 3 level but he also does have moments where he looks like he could be in tier 5-6. It will be interesting to see him next year hopefully in a nfl caliber system.

Watson has looked far closer to Zach Wilson than even Derek Carr. The fact that he's in the "good starter" tier is entirely based on performance that he hasn't shown in over two years now.

I know it was against Denver, and Washington, but Fields was playing ok prior to getting injured, with 8 TDs in those 2 aforementioned games. My tiers (top 12) for this season: 1: Mahomes, Allen 2: Burrow, Hurts, Lamar, Tua, Herbert 3: Lawrence, Stafford, Kirk (before injury), Dak, Goff Leaving out anyone we haven’t seen much of this season

Bro got Josh Allen over Lamar😂😂😂. Lamar is an Elite QB by default for literally running his team into the playoffs, don’t matter how many they won because it takes a team to win. Josh Allen is nothing without Diggs so by default he is not Elite. Josh Allen relies on his team to be good making him actually tier 3. Mahomes is also Elite because like Tom Brady he makes bad receivers look good. Learn how to categorize QBs, Stats don’t matter.

I could see Baker being in the 4a "bridge" category instead. If he's your QB you're probably thinking about the future but not necessarily house on fire today. And honestly Fields belongs back in 6b 'developmental prospect' - he still can't run the offense capably or throw reliably and he hasn't been progressing. He's developmental until he actually develops something, or he's out of the league entirely.

I’m watching this 2 weeks after it came out but man I disagree with a lot of these rankings but it is pretty hard to tell how good a QB is. Opinions literally change on half of these guys from week to week.

After watching Bryce Young play, I am most impressed that he is still able to take the field. When I saw his first game I was taken aback at the novelty of his stature and lack of footwork in the pocket. Now that the novelty has worn off, I can't cheer against him and I can't cheer for him other than to survive without crippling injuries. Not the sort of QB I would want for my team.

i disagree with sam, he should definitely be above both anthony and will. his offensive line is definitely the biggest reason he’s been taking sacks, he just doesn’t have time to see the field against even an average pass rush. i definitely do think he holds the ball a little too wrong on some plays, but most of his sacks are on the o-line

Burrow statistically should not be in the elite tier at this point. Talent-wise yes, but his injury has hurt his production so while I think he's an elite QB, you can't put him there based on his season so far.
