I once wrote a Cars fanfic with Axlerod as the main antagonist... Kind of turned him into Valentino from Hazbin Hotel. Including his subordinate Professor Z, being the equivalent of Vox. Granted, Zundapp is more of the physical threat than Axlerod, as the latter is more a planner, smart enough to lie, and have a charming presence. The fanfic was dark: the lemons won, Sarge didn't switch Allinol with Fillmore's fuel that saved McQueen and thus got irradiated and blew up, Mater went to the pits to warn everyone of the bomb and blew up, Finn and Holley couldn't warn him because they got crushed by the clock gears. Sarge, Sheriff, Lizzie, and Sally were still alive because they weren't in the pits when Mater went to warn of the bomb. Granted, Sally was only alive and out of the pit crew because she was lured out and Axlerod kidnapped her... and you can put the pieces together. Thought process was being inspired by a "Frollo won" fic and that the main reason Axlerod wanted her was because she was a expensive and luxurious car that McQueen "owned" and that it would be wasteful for her to die. So yeah... edge lord me wrote an unfinished fic in 2017 and regrets. I only became reminded of it in October when someone used that as inspiration for their own one-shot. I love the Cars fandom!

But theres a dangerous side effect that if can be proven had negligence to the danger, axelrod would lose it all. So axelrod now having this information, he hires lower villians to exploit this issue so the focus is taken off of him directly. (Although he made the item in question, the terrorists in the movie would be of bigger focus on who did what as long as no one would trace him to the destruction.)
