2K16 on the 360 is my favorite WWE game

It was just a better 2k14 with the same game breaking menu glitch that no one ever mentions. If you have a lot of created wrestlers, and let's say you do a match that has at least four created wrestlers. If you select those wrestlers very quickly without their image picture loading first, then the character selection screen will just stay on a permanent loading screen. Then if you press back to go into the menu, the menu won't show up. I don't know why no one talks about this glitch. But it's prevalent in 2K14 through 17 on the Xbox 360, not too sure about the ps3

In all honesty though it genuinely ran really well on Ps5. Still the worst one but not THAT bad.

What's that like? I'm asking cause I experienced the opposite, picked up wwe late 05 to early 09, then came back a few months b4 the pipe bomb in 11 but called it quits when they had the rock win the title from punk to set up the twice in a lifetime match 🙄 (I think this was the mania b4 the streak ended). Haven't played a game since 13 but svr11 was personally my best experience

The crowd, roster, announce team. If you haven’t, go back and watch Nitro late ‘96 through ‘98. Raw mid ‘97 through ‘00 🔥

2k22 is better tho not really a downgraded its a more like the old games where we can do whatever we want

2k22s deal breaker for me were the moves with i-frames. I still go back to 2k19 for overall better gameplay and content. It's a shame they shut down the creation community. But at least I filled my roster before then.

I feel you on that. 2k19 was my introductory game back into the WWE, my last game being HCtP. I definitely spoiled myself starting with it. Even though I didn't know who 90% of the roster was, I had the time of my life. Not to mention it was peak WWE 2k memes (BLOW MY MIND, BLOW MY MIND).

2k 15-17 on ps 3-xbx360 was just WWE 2k 14 with updated roaster

I played it on ps4 and it like number 2 (behind 2k19 cause I don’t count 2k14 either) it my favorite showcase mode and the roster was good (plus it had Hollywood rock theme song that I use for my created wrestler theme) I just really like it (2k22 I would like but my game keeps crashing, I have to delete the game just to use creation suite, and community creations loads slow) but 2k16 really good

Lol I had massive fun playing 2k16 I stayed of late and had massive fun on that game but for me the best 2k game is between 22 and 19 and I might put 19 over it slightly cause there were more characters more match’s types and a good career mode but 22 was amazing

Chain wrestling, Working holds, stamina, 5 counts, Ignored Rope breaks,, pulling opponent away from ropes during submissions. A lot is missing.

@@wolfmode0061 Honestly I didn't really mind Chain Wrestling being taken out since the previous 2K games kinda forced Chain Grapples on you. Like when I play 2K19, I can throw my opponent outside the ring, slam him into the ring barrier, roll them back inside and it'll still force you into a Chain Grapple.

@@bwareist In 2K19 against the ai I'd have to go out of my way to get some chain wrestling started. The cpu wasn't having most of the time. So our situations are reversed. In 2K19 there were sliders to turn it off as well. Not every match needs it.

Definitely. I got burnt out from universe but I did get a 4 year run from 1999-2003 WWE, it was fun the whole time. Shame they stripped universe of what made it good in 2k22.

Agree with u. I think 2k22 is good to play casually with non wrestling game fans, because it’s much easier to do moves. I got bored pretty quickly. With 2k19, I can get great matches against AI almost all the time.

Real. I got two simple words that juste makes it a hundred times better as a true wrestling fan in terms of gameplay: Chain Wrestling.

I think it’s personal preference between 2k19 and 2k22. They are such different games.

As great as they seem now in retrospect at the time games like WWE 13 where considered massive flops with people like Cory Ledesma being a targeting point by many of the KZfaqrs. When THQ was going under there was a lot of celebration even from those outside the WWE games bubble. We thought 2K would magically fix our issues but it took way too long to get the ball rolling

@@Meh57 yeah 13 was trash. But this is my opinion of the games. 2006 was fun, the very annoying because it would take too long to damage an opponent because the match would be a reversal fest but reversals don't deal damage in that game. 2007 was cool, but had limited caw creation options, couldn't get on tables anymore, couldn't do diving finishers off of a ladder onto a table anymore, and it was TOO easy to damage in opponent because reversals dealt a lot of damage too. BUT 2007 HAD THE BEST DIFFICULTY WHEN IT CAME TO REVERSING. IT WAS HARD TO REVERSE A STRONG GRAPPLES IN THAT GAME. WHICH I ENJOY. 2008 was cool for music, ecw, and Jeff hardy. Problem with that game is that the AI used their abilities way more than their finishers. 2009 was fun, only two gripes is that we had to upgrade our created wrestlers by doing that career mode, and the elimination chamber turnbuckles don't work. It's a glitch, you cant throw an opponent into the turnbuckles in an elimination chamber in 2009. 2010 was really dope, it sucks that you had to do matches to upgrade your superstar, and the AI was pretty easy because they would randomly do a AI taunt and then get beat up. 2011 was extremely fun, but extremely easy. You can beat the undertaker by doing 10 strong grapples at the beginning of a match. And reversing was broken. Just keep hitting the right trigger and you will always reverse out of a strong grapple, it's a bug it's horrible. Game breaking in my opinion. 2012 was dope, but reversing was simple because all of the AIS did moves at the same time, so the timing was the same all the time. And 13, yeah it was trash. They only did finishers in 13 if they reversed a strike..

@@elicapri6918 I wasn’t a fan of THQ’s later games. They had a habit of removing features needlessly. Crowd fighting, Backstage free roaming, Weapon physics, rope physics, season mode, GM mode. Every year something they added would be gone. I actually sympathise with 2K when I see critics bashing them for re adding these features to the game. My biggest issue with THQ was that by the time we reached WWE 13, the games where so stripped back that the best moments came from an online that worked every once in a blue moon (and I’m embarrassed to say the feature still suffer’s the same issues to this day). I will also state my personal issue with 2K is that they wasted 4 years with a weird obsession to build the most realistic wrestling game. And once they finally perfected it immediately tried to turn the games into pick up and play fighting games. I felt that using 2k19 as the template, modes like GM Mode and Universe mode could have been the focus instead of changing the full gameplay whilst also omitting match types like war games because In reality they’re just too lazy to put the effort in

@@Meh57 I agree, they spent all that time trying to make the perfect sim, then right when they achieved it, they just left it behind. I personally prefer the arcade style of wrestling games similar to SmackDown just bring it, but it still doesn't make sense that they spent all that time trying to make a great Sim and then right when they did, they moved on. It just feels like wasted years.
