That episode was like the writers acknowledging what they were doing with the character for a couple of seasons - Sue being a Klaine shipper was also made as a nod to the fact that some fans of the show were unhinged, as they used to mess with Darren Criss and Chris Colfer's significant others in real life on Twitter. When The Glee Project came out I was 19 and had just had a bad accident and couldn’t walk for 2 months. I was out of my mind on pain meds and my 2 best friends would come over every day and we would watch an episode.
