Often our first Bond movie stays a favorite. I'm so glad No Time to Die was not my first Bond movie, LoL 😅😅

Moonraker is a bad Bond movie but the song by John Barry and Shirley Bassey is a gem, both melody wise and vocaly. A beautiful piece of music.

I definitely have a fondness for Moonraker, both the song and the film. The scenario is also frighteningly possible. In addition, a good friend of mine is a Drax look-a-like, although he does not wear leisure suits.

If I would have included end songs this would be different, but you gave me the idea to maybe rank those next!!

@@agent00asmr Apart from many soundtrack CDs, I also have several of the Pretenders :-) I like their easy-going style, a quality they share with some other groups like a-ha.

I had 26 songs on my list, but it's because I viewed the actual Bond theme as a different kind of song and I included the '67 film.

I'm glad you liked it. I don't think you're weird for that actually. For some reason I've always felt weird for movie music always being a big factor to me. I probably listen to soundtracks music more than radio tunes. When I leave a movie I usually comment on the music and everyone else didn't even listen to that.

I also love Surrender, I struggled not putting it in there but had to keep to the themes. I've always felt Surrender would have been a better theme song

Hello, thanks for visiting my channel!! I am not against it. It might even be the only way to keep Bond as himself, by placing him in a time he was more accepted. So it could actually act as a protection to the character. I think there is a lot of fun that could be had with it as well. Could even be why they want a younger actor. Whatever they do, I just don't want drastic changes.

John Barry is up there with Jerry Goldsmith, James Horner, and John Williams. His soundtracks for Bond, Frances, Somewhere In Time are some of his best.

As a James Bond and film music enthusiast, I have had all 007 soundtracks and many more John Barry soundtracks on LP and CD for decades and know what I'm talking about.

The same holds for "For Your Eyes Only". Very good movie soundtrack (despite not by John Barry) and one of the most beautiful songs by Sheena Easton. I always ask me if For Your Eyes Only or All Time High or The Living Daylights is my favourite song, all from the 1980s. Basically you say "It's a good song, but just not in my top list, because it is so bad that there are nearly 20 better songs". Huh? How good must a song be to be liked by you?

@@agent00asmr Sorry, that is not my intention. But I critisized some of your rankings quite harshly, admittedly, as well as I consent with some other (e.g the lowest rankings like Quantum of Solace). And try to back my critics (give reasons for them). I had feared hat All Time High and For Your Eyes Only would be ranked bad, and that's what I like the least, because they are underrated or have been forgotten by many people and don't deserve this. (It's the same thing with Timothy Dalton, who was closest to Ian Fleming's novels, which nearly every expert agrees to. But the young people nowadays don't know him but only Daniel Craig, just because Craig has been in the focus for the last twenty years.). There are many details which don't bother me and are judged different ny anyone. An example is Goldfinger (and From Russia With Love and Thunderball). All of them 1960's classics by John Barry. I consider them great but accept that some people prefer other decades and styles (the same hilfs for Seam Commery's portrayal of 007). For instance, I like the 1980's most (the movies, soundtracks and title songs). Often this has something to do with someone's age. No problem with that.

@@agent00asmr Perhaps you mean the shift from major to minor key that is the basis of most John Barry scores. You just don't have the knowledge of music to express the technical aspects of what you mean, I guess. It's also the signature of Richard Rogers in many of his most popular songs.

Thanks for watching!! I did try to approach each song as how I like it as a stand alone song. I think NTTD is the soundtrack I listen to the least however, but I think that's probably because it's the newest movie at this point and I haven't been drawn to revisit it through the music yet.
