I was so excited when you put Raj in the marry category. Before I even played the game and was watching someone else play I zeroed in on Raj. Love them so much, lil coffee obsessed and their heart events are top tier embarrassing for me to watch, but still in my first save: we gonna get married. I accidentally got full hearts with Mark in that same save file, and learning his backstory makes his grouchiness makes sense. I think he's avoiding making connections on purpose. And it's kinda special when he calls you by your name for the first time. I think I would definitely enjoy romancing him on purpose more than I am with Scott on my second save file. I'm honestly just not feeling it. He's definitely "attractive but..." and I might just straight up switch in this save. He's very nice, though, and it's not just always about the museum or "can you tell I've been working out", he expresses a desire to dance with you and do things together several times. I cannot like Connor, though, and it's all down to Rafael (and Sam, like wtf about the scarecrows?) Connor is the first person to demonstrate how Raf is pushed aside in favor of and overshadowed by Pablo. And the scene also exposes Pablo, too. So Connor doesn't even have the dignity to name Raf, he says "Pablo and his brother" and then he, without Rafa there, gives special thanks and a gift to Pablo for things that Rafael also does. And does Pablo mention his brother or say he works just as much as he does? Nope, he just soaks in that attention while putting on an air of humbleness. I don't think Pablo is malicious, I just think he's oblivious and as he's social and outgoing he really enjoys being popular. But he should be Rafael's biggest advocate, but he's not. Oh yeah, and hate their parents. They're not there, so there needs to be a new tier: evicted from the planet. Sorry for the excessively long comment and look forward to your final tier list.

Wakuu is still my number one pick ❤ but Theo is starting to grow on me also. I got my husband to buy the game and now he’s torn over Eva or Alice 😂

I love your war with Pablo. I am here for it LMAO. I haven't gottent oo far with the Pablo storyline despite having 7 hearts with him. I did get to the parents failure with Rafael though so hopefully that gets more interesting. My besties are Lili and Millie. I absolutely love those characters.

I really like hearing how different people react to all these characters. It's great to have such a wonderfully diverse population so every person who plays this game can find someone to love or just avoid. Can't wait for the last of the heart scenes to know even more about all of them.

I didn’t care for Mark too much until I saw the cutscenes of him trying to save the little dog, he jumped very far up my list after that lol. Anyone who loves animals is ranked very high in my eyes 😅.

An interesting list, I hadn't thought that little of Walter myself but I guess I haven't been focusing on him all that much so far but my first impression of him wasn't that terrible, honestly Leah out-snobbed him for the longest time, and some of the dynamic I've witnessed between him and Bree have softened that impression a bit as well.. Your S+ ranking for Nina has me curious now though so I'm going to have to start befriending her to see what she's all about. I might have kind of ignored her since I'd set my heart on Alice part of the way through my first Spring, I kind of got a kick out of her paranormal/extraterrestrial interests considering we (the player) are literally dealing with a goddess and straight up merfolk in the here and now.

fair point on Yuri, I can see the the drawback of her always talking about work or another person to be a bit repetitive or boring. On the other hand, like you said, her design is awesome and she became one of my favorite Islanders (as she was one of the first I met!) going forward. Funny story, she was the islander that I wanted to try and befriend first, so I thought I used the flower bouquet you make for one of the firsts quests. Little did I know that Yuri actually hates any flowers you give her, so imagine my surprise when she scolded me when I thought I was giving a thoughtful gift. Just my luck to give something the specific thing they hate first try.😅

Lol. Agree for most of these, except I weirdly love Walter. The scene with him and Luke, where he asked "should I bring my own dirty apron," made me laugh so hard I had to pause the game. Maybe I just love to hate him, but I think he's actually really well written, realistic, and a change of pace from characters that are just generically nice. Haven't seen any of the Pablo drama yet, but I'm so curious!

Thank you so much for all your content! I'm so sad that I've been missing heart events like crazy. I wish and hope that Coral Island devs create a "Character Quests" tab where every time we unlock a heart level we could maybe see where to go to trigger these cutscenes. The game doesn't have any explanation of hearts or how they work. It's all just assumed that we've played similar games before in the past, but that may not be the case. So I just hope that the devs can retroactively go back and give the relationship/heart system/cutscenes some quality of life improvements to help us trigger these cutscenes. For example, with Pablo, I have 5 hearts with him and have seen ZERO of his cutscenes. I'm 22 hours into the game and I've seen no heart events at all for any of the characters. Rafael 3 hearts. Surya 4 hearts. No cutscenes, nothing! So yeah, I definitely wish that this system would get some reworking because a lot of the things you mentioned for these characters completely went over my head and it's wild to me that the Coral Island developers didn't see this as a potential oversight. A lot of assuming that we'd just know what to do. So yeah I hope that we get a "Character Quests" tab or something to help us know what to do or where to look for heart events when they are eligible to happen. It would make the game so much better. Like this entire time, I've been reading the same dialogue, romancing these characters and literally learning nothing new about them.

Waiting impatiently for my steam deck to arrive- I love this game, but my pc setup is a nuisance, and I just love handheld so much more. Because of that I haven’t gotten far enough into the game to make solid opinions on any of the characters, but it’s so much fun watching your videos, and every time I do I start getting ideas for my game.

There is only one change I would make . . . . I would switch Wakuu and Nina for me personally. The rest is whatever to me bc I haven't focused on heart events with most people bc they are still adding them. I have been focused on the rest of the game. When the final update for the events comes I will start trying to get all the hearts with everyone.

So maybe it’s just me but I am kind of wishing that we could get some indication of when a cut scene will/can happen. For example, when playing the game I am in Winter but because I am often running around the mind and diving I barely had any random cut scenes, likely because you have to enter specific areas at certain conditions and times. Admittedly I am worried having indication’s could also ruin the immersion/fun for some players so I would just like something that can be toggled on and off, maybe like a map filter, so we can have a easier time getting to know the characters. I mean I have Rafael who was my first choice for romance at a blue heart but had so few cut scenes (I think the only one I had was with Valentina) but thanks to my work on the Museum I have had more cut scenes with Scott and find myself considering changing romantic partners to him because of his story so far

I'm really crossing all my fingers Raphael's dating events live up to my expectations lol, like his platonic heart events were cute and I think we get enough of his personality through his day to day interactions so I'm kind of glad its not like about him on a personal level? But I need the romantic scenes to pivot and be about knowing him even deeper lol.

I saw this game on a Facebook group and a picture of Mark and my mind was "I MUST buy this game" I love farm games, my first one was Harvest Moon 64. There I married Ellie, the baker. She is so sweet. In Harvest Moon: friends of mineral town I married the girl from the library... Sorry, I forgot her name. Marie! I guess... Then Stardew Valley appeared and gave me the chance to marry a man. But most of the options, to me, where like... Boys. The only moderately mature was Harvey so I married him. But then Coral Island came with all those options... And this big, bearded guy appeared... Was like love at first sight 😅 First time a farm game allows me to marry the type of man I like in real life. Now that I wrote all this... That's... Wholesome? It feels good.
