If you develop draft "crushes",that mofo Brian Gutenkunts will break your heart worse than any female I've ever seen🤣 But last year I was finally like, fuck it, he knows what he is doing. This year's draft with us having 11 picks coming into it, for some reason I thought Gute would be more aggressive and move up and grab a couple of players. Like what Detroit did getting Arnold. But after seeing him drafting Love and he got that right, and nailing both the 2022/2023 drafts, I'm just gonna shut up and let him do his thing. If this class turns out to be 3/4 of the last draft, we are winning multiple SB rings in the future. Sometimes I think Gute is really stubborn with the Gute philosophy of drafting, but even last year he picked Jayden Reed, which had a RAS of 5.6 That's a no no with his philosophy and many "experts" had him going in the 3rd or 4th round. So he does go outside the box sometimes, but his outside of the box is gonna be someone we thought we could get 2 rounds later🤣 But as long as he keeps on nailing the picks, I could care less what round he gets them. Side note, if Edgerrin Cooper had of been picked after we had a chance to get him at 41 and then traded down to 45 to acquire another pick, I would have lost my mind and would have never wrote those sweet comments about him earlier🤣 I thought that was 1 player we had to come outta this draft with. Im no expert, but my gut was telling me for 3 months we had to have him in the middle to make this whole thing work on defense next year. And by all reports he looked great at the mini camps. Those picks 42-44 I was sweating bullets. It would have been classic Gute if he ended up passing on him anyways🤣🤣🤣

@@danielfagenYeah, I wasn't crazy about Hopper and Williams. Thought we should have went Oline heavy in that range. Seemed like reaches but the last 2 drafts have proven he has had way more hits than misses. Was good seeing Kraft break that 3rd round curse because I'm like you, if he didn't I could see that streak extending🤣

I think LVN is a future star in this leauge. He POPS off the screen. Hes strong, powerful, hes fast and he tackles with confidence. He can chase down QBs very well. He has it all. Yeah he didnt get the most reps but one day hes going to be a starter and hes going to be elite
@Onelove2000
@Onelove2000 4 күн бұрын
Verbatim, that's how I feel about LVN. I will add this. If you go and look at the last regular season game against the Bears, LVN looked like at times we had Nick Bosa out there. I know, it's the Bears, blah blah blah, but we really saw that game how much potential LVN has. Justin Fields is no slouch using his legs and making defenders look bad in the open field. He's a big QB too and hard to take down. LVN was all over him that game, running him down, bull rushing the Bears LT 8 yards into the backfield and sacking Fields. He just looked like the best athlete on the field at certain times that game and I was sold after that game. He still has a ways to go before we can call him a future star, but if he can put it all together we sure have a good one. You can't teach that kind of athleticism. All he has to do is put in the work and thank God he has a DC that will use all the rare athletic tools he has and make him into a pain in the ass for opposing QB's for many years to come💪💪💪 Maybe I'm going too far with the Nick Bosa comparison but I saw flashes of that kind of potential last year and that's the kind of player we need opposite Rashan Gary to take this D to the next level. I have always said, if you have a football team that is really good, to be SB contenders you need at least 1 star on each side of the football. Last years SB winner: Mahomes/Chris Jones. Someone on our defense needs to step up and be that other star on defense. If Gary or LVN can make that jump, we have just as good of a chance of hoisting the Lombardi trophy than any other team out there. Maybe asking too much in year 2 out of LVN, but I can see Gary breaking out finally as that kind of game wrecker like Chris Jones is every game💪💥💪

I think the defensive rookies need to be given a bit of a pass because Barry held them back from what they were actually drafted for...seriously think that this next season will show all how much the 1st year and older players were frustrated and chomping to give a more aggressive display. mistakes maybe made but it is going to panic opposing QBs and receivers

In all honesty one really can’t give a final evaluation of any player after one season especially for players that didn’t get significant reps during the season. Who knows maybe 2023 will have been the best season that C.J. Stroud ever has. But one thing you can see after one season is the players who have the potential to play in the NFL and the ones who don’t. The Packers 2023 draft class is just oozing with potential. Now we have to be patient to let these players develop into their NFL form and as we know it takes a different amount of time for each player. For example, many are disappointed with the performance of LVN last season. But if you watch his film, you can see tremendous potential. The man has tremendous strength and movement skills plus pretty good hand usage. In addition he loves playing football and will be happy to work hard to get better. Personally, I’m betting on LVN’s package to become a star within 2 years. This was a GREAT draft class and I can’t wait to see how this class develops. The Packers are going to get many good players out of this class as the seasons go by and there still may be so (positive) surprises in store for us. I think this may be the case at the kicker position - the incumbent has an unusually strong leg and his problems are fixable.

The Green Bay Packers have tons of solid weapons on offense, especially in terms of young wide receivers. 3 wide receivers on the Packers 2024-25 roster generated atleast 2 yards per route run as a rookie. Two of them were 2nd-rounders Jayden Reed and Christian Watson. The other was our 2023 5th-round NFL draft pick Dontayvion Wicks. Dontayvion Wicks had an underrated rookie season that could very well have never happened. 5th-round NFL draft picks don’t get a ton of playing time in their 1st year as NFL starters, but Dontayvion Wicks circumstances were different. Christian Watson suffered a hamstring injury during training camp that lingered all throughout the 2023-24 NFL season. Christian Watson wound up missing 8 games last year which gave Dontayvion Wicks a path to the field and he made the most out of it. Dontayvion Wicks ran 281 routes and generated 2.07 yards per route run. Through 15 games total, he caught 39 passes for 581 yards and 4 touchdowns. Dontayvion Wicks has plenty of skill and versatility to his game. He primarily plays on the outside but can line up anywhere thanks to his smooth releases and deft route-running. Those skills were really on display at the end of the year. Dontayvion Wicks stepped up during Christian Watson’s absence. He put up at least 91 yards in 2 of his final 6 games. He also scored in 3 straight games in Week 16 at Carolina, Week 18 against Chicago, and the Wild Card round at Dallas. Jordan Love and the Packers will have to figure out target distribution among their wide receiver room. Dontayvion Wicks might not be towards the pecking order. But make no mistake about it. Dontayvion Wicks is a true gem 💎 for Green Bay. Go Pack Go 💚💚💛💛

I would put Tucker in A. Some would argue he was better than Musgrave, especially with the ball in his hands after the catch, putting him as screen target or against zone, and he eats. Pass protection was definitely better, but I would give Musgrave a better run block grade.

Solid list man, Awesome content as usual! Only thing I personally would change is Luke Musgrave into the B tier list, he’s basically on the same lvl right now as Tucker Kraft. Luke has an edge at speed but Tucker has the YAC ability on his side plus more durable.

Also prob would move Clifford to the D tier he probably never was gonna get drafted and we took him a little early, as well Anders Carlson, Carlson might deserve the F tier ☝🏽

I would argue for Karl in S tier especially for his snap count to production. Yes, he had a poor run Def grade, but he was our arguably our best player against the pass when you factor in sacks, batted balls and FFs into what I would call "shutdown" plays. CBS had him as a 1st round pick in a redo draft.

I would put Anders Carlson at C. I am confident he will make a significant step up this year. I foresee 2-3 missed PATs in 2024. I am interested in why Sean Clifford has taken a step back so far this year. Are they expecting more from him. I like what he did in preseason last year. I see Michael Pratt though being just more talented as QB. I am most disappointed in Lukas Van Ness. He looked OK but I didn't see a high 1st rnd pick. I can see him between C and B but I expect at least A level for a high 1st rnd pick. I see Luke Musgrave really taking off this year as starting TE. Solid hands, very intelligent.
@Bastillon
@Bastillon 9 күн бұрын
Good list. I'd put Reed, Wicks, LVN and Musgrave in the S tier - future stars. Brooks and Kraft - A tier as potential future starter caliber players. Valentine B tier - he was a solid backup who stepped up when injuries hit with room for growth in the future. Colby Wooden and AJJ C tier. Carlson and Clifford D-tier, they are currently fighting for a roster spot with new competition. Dubose and Nichols started off injured, then didn't play any games, then Nichols got cut and Dubose will be cut - clearly wasted picks.

Someone please explain to me the anders carlson hate... he missed 6 fgs this season which were ALL from 40 or more yards, and was 34-39 on xps this year. Those are by no means great numbers, but people are acting like he has no business being in the NFL. Hes a rookie who supposedly had a bad long snapper... we gotta give him at least a couple hears to see if he can be decent. Honestly go back and compare crosbys stats to carlson stats... you would be surprised that there was not a huge difference in fgs

Carlson should be a C. He wasn’t great or even good. But he was serviceable for a rookie. Jordan Love threw game ending boneheaded interceptions to lose A LOT of games last year. 49ers, Raiders, Broncos, Steelers and Giants. Got outplayed by Bryce Young and Baker Mayfield. Love has potential but he’s far from a clutch QB yet. Even his comeback win against the Saints would’ve been a loss if their kicker didn’t miss any an “easy” FG

Jayden Reed was probably the most polished rookie at his position, but giving him S was a little rich for me. The dude was what you realistically hope a second round rookie could be, good player who can make a difference as a rookie but still has things to learn and got under 1000 yards. Definitely a solid A tier. I would also move Carrington Vallentine to B tier, yes the dude came from the 7th round and is good enough to start, but that's all he is, good enough to start. He's at best a mediocre CB3. I don't think any of the rookies deserved S tier from this class but we got 7 starting caliber players which is amazing when you consider there's some other teams out there whose entire 2020 draft class is off the roster. Getting four A tier and three B tier rookies in a single draft class is an S tier draft.
