Appreciate the respect on Rangiku as your #2 slot. There's a pretty vocal part of the fanbase that likes to dump on her character for a few reasons - some of which you haven't gotten to yet (and none of which I think are fair) - so seeing her so high on your list put a smile on my face.

There is a reason for the 69 tattoo on hisagi's face you'll see later down the line, but its important to note 69 doesnt mean the same thing in japan as it does america. In fact when Kubo found out that people make fun of Hisagi's tattoo in the west, he became extremely embarrassed

I like the dynamic Shunsui and Nanao share. They are one another's moral rocks and it's clear that Shunsui does not want her to be a killer, especially given how frantic and insistent he was that she not finish Chad while retraining her. Iba looks like your stereotypical Yakuza member and the look fits his squad and personality.

hisagi got a super well animated fight for no reason other than that it was the end of the season and they were going on a small hiatus iirc but ever since then i've been like "he's so fking cool"

It is really nice to see people appreciating Renji. He is really well written, with some of the best development out of the cast. Mayuri and Nemu have really fascinating dynamic, I think you are going to enjoy it when those two get their time in the spotlight.

I would like to ask something, Bleach has become somewhat infamous for having a little poem at the start of each volume of the manga, from the perspective of the character on the cover, have you been reading those? They are pretty cool, specially some like Aizen's poem (volume 12) and Gin's poem (volume 20) For characters like Kira who didn't get a lot of screentime it also helps to have some more characterization

If you still like Hisagi by the time you finish Bleach, I recommend reading the Can’t Fear Your Own World Novels. Not only are they canonical, but they delve deeper into Hisagi’s character. I won’t spoil anything about when they take place, etc. but it’s worth checking them out, they add onto details not fully explored in the main story.

I really appreciate your evaluation of Rangiku, she is so much more than meets the eye! She brings out the best chemistry no matter she's paired up with, and I especially loved the more mature side she's shown when she's with Orihime. Loved the video as always! Can't wait for this to turn into a regular series :)

I cannot wait to see your reaction for Hisagi's zanpakuto release. It's so damn cool and they gave it extra love in the anime as the episode he releases it has the most obvious budget increase ever and the animation is next level for the time it came out

You might not know, but Kubo quite surprised by Hisagi popularity ( every Jump manga usually has this character popularity poll in certain month) and made him as MC in the light novel post-last arc of the series. Also in the last one-shot chapter ( for bleach anniversary) that Kubo released , he seems will gave more attention for Iba and Isane , they both got new looks.

Rangiku I really like Rangiku she is so interesting and important on so many different levels. Her Backstory, Role and Relatioships are a big and important part of the Story

No spoilers so don't worry. My personal fav lieutenant is Omaeda, we dont see much of him but i like that he's cocky and a bit of a coward but when the chips are down will do anything to protect the people around him.

Good to know your first impressions in general. Also your views on Hisagi are so on point, that’s probably how he sees himself all flash no flare.

Hisagi actually get a lot of exposure in the supplementary material and gets really shafted in the source material. Also, the 69 actually is a reference another character, that will remain nameless for spoiler reasons, and it loses its meaning outside of japanese. The 6 is a reference to a character in this nameless characters name and the 9 is a reference to squad 9.

69 means yin yang (not a spoiler, it just never was explained fully)

Gonna be interesting for you to look back on this after finishing the series.

Rangiku is Tite Kubo favorite girl; you can tell by how he writes her in the story. And yeah, there's more to her than meets the eye. She's personally one of my favorite characters in the whole series.

I'd love to see an updated ranking before you get to TYBW.

I haven't seen the video yet but i'm curious to see where he'll put yachiru, because she'd be my number 1 if i made a list where he is now. (And honestly also if i made the list after reading the whole series) (number 4 is not bad i respect his opinion)

Yeah, It makes sense that Omaeda would be at the bottom. He only has two real moments too shine, one of which takes place during the final arc, and his overall personality leaves much to be desired.

Man I feel that even trying to give my list would feel spoilery (or cause someone to give full on spoiler reply) especially top and bottom 3. Though saying Renji maintains a strong top spot isn't too out there due to his position in the cast. Thankfully pretty much all of them get something that lets them shine and some use a relatively small amount of panel space/minutes in episode to massively increase how enjoyable they are as characters even if they got more focus later on. Their relationship and interaction with their captain is one of the main aspects of them as characters so how much you like their captain is gonna influence the rankings even if Lieutenant doesn't do anything between making update vids.

Hisagi 69 tattoo does have meaning. You'll find out if u pay attention.

It's not that she shares a bloodlust with Kenpachi. Not in the traditional sense. Because the bloodlust she has is the exact same one as Kenpachi's, for she is his Zanpakuto Spirit, more specifically the Bankai form of it
