What a final. Litter was great and good on Humpries he has been on fire the last 3 months also Humpries has talked about tough times he has had also which has shown a great amount of openness. It`s even been discussed on back pages tonight on sky sports news.

Mensur Suljovic had 2-3 rough Years (His Brother died from Cancer some Months Ago, he had major Back and Health Problems from the Covid Injection as he himself said and his wife was long in the Hospital with problems during pregnancy) no wonder he was never really in shape we saw still some of his Potential in the crazy Game vs Van Gerwen last year.

That was one heck of a final!!! Littler was showing his darting future at the age of 16 at Ally Pally but Humphries showed why he is the best player in the world right now, now that he won four majors in a row!!!

The trophy given to Luke Humphries for the most 180s was named the Ballon D’art. The annual football award the Ballon D’Or translates to Golden Ball. Ballon D’art translates to Art Ball. What were they thinking when they named this ridiculous trophy?

Think Littler could be invited to the PL especially with Luke mentioning it in his interview, not sure if it’s something that could overwhelm him as it’s a lot of travelling, he’s already in a prime position to go on the world tour, I think he could deal with it all well but it’s just a matter of taking chances and being swept up in Hype

I hope he doesn't play in it for another year personally. I think the PDC have to be very careful with Luke. The last thing anyone wants to see is him burning out by the time he's 21. The tour is gruelling enough without having the premier league to contend with at 16!

Great summary, as usual Matt. My only beef is you forgot to put the top 16 up, you did for roughly for the rest until position 17. Anyway, congrats on Cool Hand Luke prediction from the very start of the World Darts Championship... not even the Littler iceberg could sink him in the end, but he had to play at his best and he did! How many plus 100 finishes in the last five sets did he make to deny the darts prodigy?

Surprised you didnt mention ricardo pietreczko, in his first odc year (at least I think its, its the first one he is succesful in) he got to place 34 of the world rankings

Humphries currently with a £363k lead over MVG for number one, and Luke H didn't have a strong 2022 at the majors at all whereas MVG won three of them (then made the final at the worlds last year). Luke H seems very likely to be number one all year and by an increased margin (half a million ahead?!?) this time next year.

I DONT THINK MVG IS BOTHERED NOW, IF HE WANTED TO BE NUMBER 1 HE WOULD BE, HES SMASHED THEM ALL UP AND SEEMS CONTENT WITH HIS FAMILY, I STILL THINK SOME OF THE GAMES HE HAS PLAYED LATELY ARE VERY FISHY.

Luke Littler need to be in premier league, no a doubt. What a great final it was, Humpries is untouchable atm. Both finalists are the best players on the world right now, mark my words. Despite the fact that Littler is very young player and many people are saying that he is too young to take part in premier leugue. Ok, he is young lad, but premier leagues very deep meaning is that the best players are in that competition. Luke Littler is one of the best players in the world atm, easyly. IMHO.

Be 17 in few days. So have to rethink/calibrate that sales pitch. A phenomenal talent that the modus super series, showcased for us to enjoy. Along with a few other youngsters. Have to tip my hat to them.

I note the Masters is now taking place after the first week of the Premier League so its safe to say the winner of that isn't getting a pick this year. No place for Cross and Noppert and, given how UK centric the PL is this year, Spots for Anderson and Rock?

@@Adam-zh4hm one night Berlin one night Rotterdam. I think they've missed a trick given the massive success of the Euro Tour to grow the sport to an even bigger extent. The line up is very UK centric this year with only MVG as the non Brit which might also be a factor.

I don’t really see why players lose their ranking money if they’re not in the top 64. Harsh on the players that regain their tour card but had a good second year. E.g. Radek Szaganski was in the provisional spaces for the Matchplay before he lost his card, but now if he regains his card and has a good start to the year, he probably won’t qualify for Matchplay when maybe he could have done. Think Keegan brown was in a similar position last year

Next year could you do a video on what the songs they are chanting are? (aka, what people are saying that is indecipherable to non-UK English speakers). Even part of the American carol "Winter Wonderland" that people are making up new words too is indecipherable. Would be fun to actually know what they are chanting, as we all know the chants, but have 0 idea what on earth they're saying.

Aha Fair, I can only pick out "Phil Taylor" in that one chant, "walking in a winter wonderland" (but not the rest of the words to the song of the self-same carol) and "oh Michael van Gerwen" to seven nation army cadence.... literally everything else is a sea of drunken, but lovely, gibberish -- boy it sounds great though! UK audiences know how to chant well! @@richwood1867 Plus, some good chanting and enthusiasm makes for a great viewing experience. Wish the whistlers and boo-ers would get lost, but can't win em all

Am I missing something? I watched this video to see the new top 16 chart listing in detail. Why show photos of some of the players in the top 16 but not the chart? …. Bizarrely, the chart of the bottom players in 199-222 WAS shown which I have no interest in at all!

Great to see such a nice guy in Humphries be world champion and world number one! I think Gary Anderson will linger around the 17-32 spots for a while then have a sudden 3 months where he can’t be beaten and go back to the top 4 😂 Adrian Lewis on the other hand really needs to get his game on. SUCH a talented player but to not even have qualified for the World Championships this year shows how much his game has dropped.
