reading berserk in school seems like a great idea

Miura wasn’t edgy like some misconstrued fans that follow the wrong teachings of the actual story. There are edgy teenagers that read berserk for blood gore and sex and take a very nihilistic take on the story as it is a very pessimistic tale taken at face value but miura and fans like myself view it more nuanced then stuff that is outright shown with the grotesque. Berserk is a story of over coming obstacles and fighting against the futility of your existence portrayed mostly by guts. And guts is a depiction of Nietzsche ubermentsch philosophy save for the final stage known as the child which basically for the ubermentsch is the end goal of being ambitious and ruthless with your goals but also creative,imaginative and kind like a innocent child balancing the ruthlessness of adulthood with the valued traits of a child. Miura was not the type to write a character especially a kid to be SA’d just for the lols or even at all for story purposes. The ending of berserk he said would be a GOOD ending a SA death ending for schierke makes no sense and Miura even said as much in terms for guts and since guts and her are heavily connected you can rest assured she is here to stay she is basically his surrogate child. Now there are characters that are alluded to have SA’d children in berserk like wyald but it’s never went into detail just glossed over to convey that SA and evil can happen to anyone no one is safe in berserk especially early berserk.

For me it's depiction of morality is cartoonish and is an unrealistic and not relatable way of how it works. It's almost as if the mangaka bases an action on how much shock value it can bring to the audience as opposed to how relatable it can be and how much you can connect with it. I tend to like grounded, relatable characters like an Edward or Alphonse Elric from FMAB as an example.

I think that the shock value is good. Its realistic. Berserk shows us what war truly is, what evil truly is, it evolves far past an "edgelord archetype" as it unequivocally condemns all these actions and the narrative is clearly meant to make you feel disgusted. The best examples of this is the berserker armour, the presentation of cascas psyche in the elfhelm arc, and the wyald arc. The chapters that delve into cascas psyche is proof of berserks motives and lessons. It displays the trauma endured by a victim perfectly, and manages to convey it from the viewpoint of someone who has become disabled because of it. The berserker armour shows us that the fighting and the cool moments from guts arent without sacrifice, everytime he does this, his psyche erodes and even guts hesitates. In the chapters showing cascas psyche, it also shows us the extent to which gut's psyche has been damaged due to the situations hes in. Also the 5 arcs that show gut's development from an edgy man to a man who cares for his only loved one and fights to the death to protect her from his horrible world. its not the shows fault if some weirdos take it the wrong way, that will happen no matter where you look and what show.

It’s a dumb thing imo to compare Shonen characters and Seinen characters (especially like this) in terms of fighting abilities. There’s only a few exceptions such as OPM which is categorized as a Seinen if I’m not mistaken.

As a berserk fan. Its sadly true, that alot of them overrate the manga too much and there's sadly actual people that think Griffith did nothing wrong

The difference with game of thrones is a lot of the horrible stuff is done by a few bad people or the sex scenes have to do with consenting adults. Berserk on the other hand has a lot of gRAPE and SA on minors done by a lot of people, Like Griffith's sexual assault scenes would be better if there was less rape else were in the story because then it can be a defining moment that the reader will remember.

People think those behaviors such as rape etc are praised in Berserk.. they're not, you are not supposed to praise them.. is supposed to disgust you. Game of Thrones is the same, you are not supposed to praise when SA happens.. noone does But for some reason people think rape and murder in Berserk is "praised" I fail to see how. And Schilit which is the only KZfaqr that says "Griffith did nothing wrong" is trolling and trying to trigger people, and he was successful since thanks to that clown people think that Berserk fans in general think "Griffith did nothing wrong" while actually arguably a very low percentage of fans praise Griffith actions.

the problem is not that he doesn't like it its just he refuses to accept an appeal for it exists and I agree his reasoning's are logical in the sense he doesn't like certain stuff in the story but those are his personally gripes not flaws, because berserk is simply not set in the same world as us the characters in the story are not bound to our sense of morality which makes them all realistic at the very least which is in no way a flaw. if he didn't like berserk and accepted it isn't for him its fine but he tries to rationalize it and thinks he's smart for pointing out "flaws" which were never flaws in the first place.
