Woody Piano Shack - thanks for the really kind words! I love how people hear influences in tunes. Kraftwerk are definitely one of mine - the others I'm not that familiar with, which makes it all the more intriguing :) The track is definitely going to be edited to refine it a bit more. Doing a breakdown is a great suggestion - I should do this before I pack up the gear :)

Hi Anachronistic Complex, thanks so much for taking the time to comment! The main bassline was the Novation Bass Station II - you can see me setup the sound on it right at the start. I used the inbuilt sequencer on the BS2 itself. I'd like to do an edit now of this, and tidy up all the loose bits, make it shorter and add some light and shade - see where the edit takes me :)

Hi Anachronistic Complex :) The ESQ-1 is the fat synth part, just didn't have it in camera. I was controlling it via MIDI using the Arturia KeyStep. There's a pic of it in the setup on my Twitter @ranzstweet - where you can see all the gear in the background. Such a cool synth - beautiful analog filters.

Goonie Googoo Gus hi mate, thanks for the sub. hope you stick around as I have more MX-1/Push/Ableton stuff to come. I did a Q&A video about a month ago which has more info on MX-1 to Ableton connectivity. I might actually do a special video specifically on this as I think there's a lot of confusion out there, no thanks to Roland's bad instruction manuals. What specifically do you need help with?

I need help with the physical connections between laptop, mx-1 and push2. Does it connect between push to the mx1 then to the laptop or mx1 and push both to laptop. I think it's the latter of the two. Also all the tweaks in ableton live in the midi box the Inputs...output boxes.

Both Ableton Push and the MX-1 connect directly via USB. The MIDI setup in Ableton is: MX-1 IN & OUT check Track, Sync and Remote to ON. Audio input: 1 - 4 (mono & stero), 5-18 all stereo pairs. Audio output: I just use 17&18 both mono and stereo. I mainly run my MX-1 in "MIX" mode - I find that "LIVE" mode isn't needed as the Push is all the controller-style stuff. If you want to control Line/Channel faders in the DAW direct from the MX-1 - see my Q&A video, I show this - and those settings mentioned above. TL;DR its mainly MIDI mapping. Let me know how you go :)

Hey @Marc the Darc :) thanks mate! Silly me wrote Blue Sky - when I actually used a Big Sky lol. I was lucky to pick it up used - but in pristine condition! Yeah, I really like the KPQ - just wish they added a MIDI clock to it.
