@@mart446 it may be distraction for Quake Purity but it's not the real reason why the game is not more popular. Bethesda could fix the real problems with the game and make it popular with proper marketing but it seems that they just don't care, don't know how to make it profitable or don't understand its potential.

It's not casual friendly at all compared to modern FPS. Casuals do not want to get bullied or slowly progress to get better. The game is amazing if your a Veteran, but for new players it's mostly rage quitting after a few matches. There needs to be a solution for that to bring in new players.

Look at what Q3 had when it launched and what QC has after years of "development". The base game is sub par and the esport scene is not organic. You need a good game, QC is not one.

Quake or Quake Champions is one of the most mechanically demanding FPS shooters of all time. I would love to see someone like iitztimmy/aceu or the other best fps players in the world try QC and go up against Rapha, or vice versa in Apex/CS etc.

It would have to be on a neutral game. Too steep a learning curve for players to get up to the level starting from scratch.

@@Ldn12345 Agreed, since Quake is extremely fast paced & map-knowledge heavy/spawns/timings etc. It would take a while for other pros to get used to it, more so than Quake players playing Apex/Valorant for eg. Maybe a pure aim game like aimlabs? But then again, that's just aim. It makes me curious to see someone like TenZ try it out.

The death of Quake was Match making. I tried to find games, there are none. Part of what made Quake so good was its community and the accessibility of just browsing games with PERSISTANT servers. You would see friends play or foes. Match making was made for consoles and it has killed a few genres and games (Incl. Battlefield now too).

Actually Rapha was beaten at QuakeCon 2022 (LAN), where he took only 5-6th place. Rapha lost to Maxter 0-2, and then to Raisy 2-3 ... At QuakeCon 2021 (Online, because Covid) Rapha was also beaten, he took 3rd place. This time Rapha lost to Av3k 1-2, and then to Raisy 0-3 Thus, out of 7 Quake Champons QuakeCons (2017-2023) - Rapha won only 2, last time he won QuakeCon 2020 (3 years ago). If we don't count first 2 Quake Champions QuakeCons (because it was weird game with 5 minute rounds and 3 characters at once, instead of a normal 10 minute duel with one character), Rapha won 2 of 5 Quake Champions QuakeCons In addition, until 2022 there were so-called "Stage Finals" of Quake Pro League, which in status and in fact were almost like QuakeCons. And in these Stage Finals, Rapha was also defeated several times: QPL Season 1 Stage 3 Finals (2020, Online) - Rapha took 3rd place, he lost to Cypher 1-3, and then to Killsen 2-3 QPL Season 1 Stage 1 Finals (2019, LAN) - Rapha took only 5-8 place, he lost to Cypher 1-3 And at Quake Pro League Season 1 Kickoff (QuakeCon 2019) Rapha took 3rd place, he lost to Dahang 1-2, to Killsen 0-2, and to Xron 0-2 ... However, no disrespect to Rapha and his achievements in professional Quake. Rapha is Living Legend of Quake, one of Two Best Quake Live 1v1 players, The Best Quake Champions 1v1 player, and The Best Professional 1v1 player in all history of Quake

Not just quake. The whole enternaiment industry have turned into a steaming pile of garbage nowadays. Movies, games, and unfortunetaly it has affected quake with it aswell. Thankfully though we still have the classics to take inspiration from, and to study from , so nothing is over. The world just needs talented devs who grew up on the q1-q3 era and we'll be set.

RAISY keeps doing the same mistakes through the years, it really sad and kinda frustrating to watch. Flaws: A) picks - Scale on Ruins on LAN with so many champs left? xD Visor on Awoken while Doom still left ? (I realize he might have been trying to take it away from Rapha for the future games, but thats not the way to play this). The WB final were even worse for him. B) Bans - in the WBFinal, he didnt ban Keep. Before anyone says Raisy's keep. Rapha is F** INSANE on that map. He even mentioned it in one interview its the best map of his in comparison to others, bcs there is no rail involved, which can bring some outer elements from the game away.

Long story short - its really sad, but until he wont realize how to play around picks & bans against particular players, this will be the factor which will FOREVER prevent him from winning :) And rapha - gg's wp'd, such a joy to watch that understanding of the game. :o

@@dnl2003 , it IS fair. Because Raisy LOST match (with a score of 0-3, by the way) to Rapha before Grand Finals. So Raisy DESERVED punishment (tougher conditions in possible Grand Finals) While Rapha didn't lose A SINGLE MAP (!!!) TO ANYONE before final match with Raisy. So why the hell these two should they be on equal terms?!

@@Tier4JeanPrecesily, the player in the winner bracket is already the player that is the best of the tourney. That player doesn't need 1 free map advantage. Add that the player in losers need to play without a break in the grand finals, meanwhile the player on winner can rest and even watch his opponent games. Will be enough advantage to have first pick and first ban. Other option can be, best of 5 finals. If the player in winner brackets lose, he got a another Chace, do they play another best of 5.

@@TanThighsYum , Rapha lost to Raisy 2-3 at QuakeCon 2022 (and because of this loss, Rapha dropped out of the tournament, since the game was in the lower bracket). And at QuakeCon 2021 Rapha lost to Raisy even 0-3 (and once again because of this loss, Rapha was eliminated from the tournament, the game was in the lower bracket too)

first quakecon ive watched since they introduced this shit game. Why do they have the most annoying caster in every map? and why do they still have ketchup? they should just go back to QL, half the players wouldnt make it
