For those who may not know, Agadmator is actually NEARLY good enough to be a Master. He has competed in tournaments before, when he was trying for Master Norms -- but I don't think he's earned any yet, unless I'm mistaken. But watching him play these games, you can see he knows chess very well, and is certainly qualified to give top-level games a proper in-depth analysis.

I can't believe you'd never played rapid chess! Hehe. Very surprising to me. I feel like, for me, this is more instructional than analysing the super high level chess, since you're playing with real people, real mistakes. I'm currently in a 1 minute hole, which is very addictive, but 10 minutes is probably the healthiest mid option.

On the second game (much appreciated as I play that line and got a couple of pointers) I suddenly realize that Agad is A. streaming live B. talking about lines C. his opponents has blundered a Knight in the midgame (Agad is confident he will win some more rating points, probably will) and then look at tthe clocks and Agad has 7:16 to darko's 5:35!!! Why the... Bd3 line is bad? Personally I picked it up because it was the engine's #1 move in that position that day. Dunno what this is about the move being bad. I have a solid win rate with it too, since I end up in an equal position at worst and none of my opponents know the move, so I can play whatever afterwards and wait for some more significant blunder. I thought it was 80%, but apparently that's me against the QGD, Marshall Defense. Yeah, f5 e4 from black can be annoying to take a lot of space, but I don't feel like it's particularly hard to play as white. Black often gets a knight on f4, but the light square bishop can retreat to f1 in some lines, and in other lines it can reach f3. Meanwhile the a5 knight has a lot of problems getting back into the game, and in that regard I feel like your b4 was premature; there's always time to wait for your opponent to try developing their bishop and in turn blunder a full knight. I feel like the biggest difference between rapid and blitz is that now players spend a minute thinking before they trap their own knight. Well, with that there are less blunders in general as compared to blitz, but even in the 2100's there's a lot of blunders in most games. I almost exclusively play rapid, though, because it's easy to get a game but I have some time to think about things.
