Took me 1 years of practicing 2-4 hours everyday to be able to play 1 of his songs (The Hunt)when I was 16 years old. He is literally the best acoustic guitarist period.

Saw Tommy at the Lyric Theatre in Sydney Australia some time back, maybe 2006 around there, one man one guitar literally filled the venue with a huge sound. Was a sight and sound to behold, and he's a nice bloke too.

Certainly one of Australia's greatest talent exports ever, and a very good man. Thanks for watching it. A funny side story - we lived in Parkes in the late 60's and my brother, Phil, was in Tommy's class at school. He went back to his place one day and Tommy offered him to teach him the guitar - Phil turned him down. We haven't let him forget that for the last 55 years. You've got to react to Tommy doing the studio recording of Classical Gas on You Tube - insane. Cheers.

Tommy got his first guitar at 4, started touring with his family at 6. He is self taught, doesn't read music. He had a brother (Phil, now deceased) who was equally as good. There are a few clips of Tommy and Phil which are well worth reacting to. Tommy is arguably one of, if not the best acoustic guitarist at this time.

Much respect to Roy, but Tommy's on a whole other level..What he does on an acoustic guitar (no less!) doesn't even make sense! Acoustic is WAY harder than electric. To make every note ring out clearly on an acoustic, and at the velocity that which he plays it is other-worldly!..If you get a chance, watch him play "Somewhere, Over The Rainbow" for the late Les Paul. Paul's favorite song..One of the greatest things I've ever seen!..Absolutely beautiful!
