I've heard a lot of talk that Jelly Roll wasn't releasing the same type of music anymore, that it wasn't as good, but I strongly disagree! Over time, we evolve as artists and people, and if our art can't reflect our growth and progress, how truly genuine is it? I haven't had a chance to buy the album, but in addition to "Creature", Jelly Roll released "I Need You", and he and Adam Calhoun's FIRST COLLABORATION, "A Dream".

@MaXity It truly is! Since I first posted that comment, I've had a chance to listen to the rest of them, and while they're all great, "Bottle & Mary Jane" is another one of my most favorite songs of Jelly's!
@laceydo4542
@laceydo4542 4 жыл бұрын
@MaXity Honestly, the heart, the soul, and experiences that Jelly incorporates into his lyrics makes it almost impossible not to relate to any of his songs in some way. All the best to you and your fiancé! Obviously, I hope neither of y'all have experienced anything traumatic or difficult, but if y'all have, I hope you've overcome any and all setbacks, and have a wonderful life together! Jelly and Bunnie's passion and love for each other shouldn't be mimicked or replicated, it's their own story, but I hope you and your fiancés is just as strong and supportive.
@laceydo4542
@laceydo4542 4 жыл бұрын
@MaXity No thanks necessary! So many are quick to judge, and among many things, the world needs more compassion and understanding. Sure, some don't take the initiative to turn their lives around, and that's a sad fact, but the desire and determination of those who have and continue trying to - you'll never know what they can become if you never give them a chance. There's so much I wish I hadn't experienced, but life was never portrayed as easy, and I firmly believe that difficult experiences build strong character. I don't know you or your fiancé, but any amount of progress, no matter how small, is still an accomplishment! Sometimes, we have to overcome our obstacles alone, but it's beneficial to have support to rely on. Glad y'all have each other, and all the best to you!

Honestly, I can understand how some could feel that way but I enjoy his newer music a lot more. But that's just me. I've always thought Jelly was a dope rapper and enjoy his older stuff but much of it I just don't relate to and the content isn't that which I want to consume on a regular basis. In his newer stuff, even if I can't personally relate to certain topics, I can relate to his struggles, his humanity, his desire to do better and take care of the fam. I rock with that and I think people appreciate the vulnerability because it humanizes them. Plus his melodies are just as dope as his rhymes.

The song's referring to drug use, alcoholism and using escapisms to try and fulfill your life. The dragon outside his window refers to chasing the dragon when doing drugs, ( trying to achieve the same high you once got), which turned him into a savage and taking those drugs.

I've been too literally 7 Tech N9ne concerts and Krizz Kaliko is always like Tech's right hand man.. he's on alot of Tech's songs. He always does the "okay yeah" or just "okay" in the back or in his lyrics... Also, this song hit me so hard.. I'm having such a hard time and I always listen too this song ever since I found it

This is absolutely the year of my top 5 putting a hurting on mainstream! @Jelly Roll has so much heart and soul, and so much darkness and light in his music. He's the only one who can do it the way he does. And it's the real deal. Just like a @Knox Hill reaction. It's real, very in depth, on point, and absolute 🔥 🔥 Looking forward to your reaction on Jelly's Album. Buckle up 🤙

He's so much more than a musical genius; he's a therapist.....well he's mine anyway!! Great review please keep reacting to krizz kaliko, he's got some super impactful melodic music and he's the greatest hook man since Nate dogg in hiphop. His singing is on another world. Once again I am struck by how well Knox deciphers lyrics. I’ve spent time in prison myself. You have plenty of time to think and self-reflect. I’ve come to terms with all my faults and shortcomings (inner demons). I went down at age 16 to adult prison and I was scared shitless. But in the end I conquered my fears. I made it through and came out in one piece, but with a few more scars.,. And fearless.

Krizz is a beast, fo sho. You should react to his new track "Avoiding Mirrors" with Jelly Roll and Merkules. Totally different vibe, but it's a hell of a banger. Great analysis, btw! Shout out to Bone Thugs.

As great breakdown and reaction but bro I don't know how you most of all but a bunch reactors say " I know who Tech is but never heard Kaliko." He has been with Tech and Strange music for like 20 years and tours with and performs with Tech every tour, but since you haven't heard him check out Speedom by Tech 9 feat. Eminem and Krizz Kaliko it goes hard and fast.

Jelly has struggled with drugs and this song is about those, the monsters, the Demons, he wants to get rid of them but they keep calling and that's where he finds peace... been there, done that...
