He works as producer not only with BTS, but outside of BTS with famous artists from Korea, Japan. All the BTS members have the absolute right to say everything that they do in their songs. Everyone was trying to bring them down, looking down on them, and mistreating them since day one they debuted, and even almost made them disband. But they kept going, and they are the number one today on the damn planet and still breaking records with everything they do.

It is sooooo refreshing to watch a reaction of this song and have someone actually pick up on the meaning of the song. I specifically mean the hook and some of metaphors and such. Personally, a lot of reactors don’t pick up on that he is spelling his name in the hook and/or pick up on the double entendres in the hook and throughout the song. Most people take the lyrics at face value instead of actually thinking about them. I am still honestly amazed how AGUST D (and BTS for that matter) are able to make the word play make sense in 2 languages. You will love Daechwita by AGUST D!! Great reaction AGUST D (aka Suga from BTS) is an amazing and genius musician. In my opinion, his 2 mixtapes are, to put it simply, works of art. I would love to see more BTS and AGUST D reactions! 💜

A big reason why we try to distance BTS from the 'kpop' label is to avoid being compared to others like Blackpink. That's not a diss on them because lots of people like that, but people will hear 'BTS' and automatically think manufactured or kpop etc. And they are literally anything but that type of group. You compare Lisa's raps for example and the meaning behind the words to any of the BTS rappers, it's bit insulting. Yeah, BTS have cracked the mainstream and good on them, they worked damn hard and for a long time to get this far, but it doesn't take away from their talent or their artistry. They are heavily involved in the whole production process and write their lyrics. RM and Suga/Agust D were established underground rappers as teenagers before BTS. Go in with an open mind and bear in mind that a lot of wordplay etc gets lost in translation 🙏

A lot of people have recommended Daechwita. But my favorites from him are the Last, So Far Away (both versions), First Love, Never Mind, and Shadow (full version not the MV). But honestly, anything he writes or produces is amazing.

7:06 Wow you hit the nail on the head here! When he says "I'm from D" he means his hometown of Daegu. This is also why he's called AGUST D. DT is short for "Daegu Town" and AGUS is his stage name, SUGA, backwards.

Agust D is his name in BTS spelled backwards (Suga) from DT or Deagu Town. He is an incredible producer, rapper, songwriter, and composer and has worked with many other artists and of course BTS. This was from his first mixtape "Agust D" and his 2nd mixtape "D-2" is just as great! I would check out BTS' leader RM's (Rap Monster) "Joke"as well, but do the lyrics video not the official MV because it does not have English translations.

Actually if I'm not mistaken, the BTS rappers never debuted as soloist because that would entail heavy promotion (so not like Lisa as hers was promoted). That's why it's mixtapes and not albums, none of August D's mixtapes or any BTS rappers mixtapes are promoted. They just release music when they want on their own accord and are all free.

You pronounced his name correctly. AGUST D is DT Suga spelled backwards. DT is where he’s from - Daegu Town. Suga is one of the most sought after producers in Korea and now the world. He has two solo mixed tapes that he released for free on SoundCloud. Suga of BTS has to conform to what the group dictates. Not that it’s bad, but when he’s Agust d he can be himself. Obviously BTS isn’t singing about oral sex and kissing my ass. Suga is open about his struggles with social anxiety and depression. His lyrics are relatable and helpful to those who struggle with mental health issues. The MV from his second mixed tape is Daechwita. Still highly flexing, aggressive lyrics but you can see the change in him from this first one. The MV production is insane. I highly recommend.

Suga has amazing candence and you can always really feel the emotion he's putting in to the song, whether that be anger, sadness, happiness etc. I highly recommend you checking out Daechwita and The Last. Two very different songs by him, one very hype and one very deep. They are some of my favourite songs (especially The Last), not just by bts, but in general.

Love your reaction! His MV called “Give it to me” is cinematographically the continuation of this MV and is from the same mixtape. Teddy park has actually said that he has made a lot of songs with them but they don’t get approved by yg, and although the only song they have credits to writing is lovesick girls, jennie had said before that she feels emotionally connected to stay because she helped write it (even though yg didn’t credit her)so we truly can’t know how much they actually contribute when their company doesn’t credit them

For BTS, all the members write their lyrics and send them in, the producers or Bang PD pick the ones that go best with the songs. BTS members also involve in the production. I think YG don’t give BP the freedom in music decision. You don’t have to write your songs to be a good singer but it’s more relatable if you do. YG seems to make BP look like models instead artists. At least, that’s how I feel without knowing too much about them.

His debut was insane...but his 2nd album's title track called daechwitta is atleast 20 times more crazy(In terms of production and he has way more different flows in it than this as well)...as for other Kpop artists u gotta check out stray kids...they blew up in the west after their hit title track god's menu...but they were fire way before it and are still throwing out banger after banger every comeback.

Seen a few mention the name of the solo mixtapes Suga has done. This song being from his first self titled Agust-D album. The one thing I didn't see mentioned about this album is he put it out for free. People did not have to buy it unless they wanted the physical copy. Anyone could go to the BTS site and download the album. I actually got it that way. I do not know if it still free to download but it was for quite some time. Suga/Agust-D is my favorite Korean male rapper. His flows and vocal control is so wide and well executed. Anyways, I'll be checking out the new release from you once it drops. Love your music Crypt!

correct me if i'm wrong but how i interpreted this song is that when he went from underground rap to kpop he got a lot of hate and this song is basically saying that he doesnt fit into a category and whether or not he's a kpop idol he is still the best

*SUGA AKA AGUST D is called a GENIUS He is an amazing producer rapper and songwriter. He can also sing, dance and play lots of instruments, he is an all rounder and the perfect artist. He makes his won beats and is a extremely dedicated musician. His lyrics are raw, storytelling and mostly metaphorical. His latest album D-2 is the most critical acclaimed and is the most streamed album by a korean soloist. He has a more album by the name of Agust d which he released in 2016. Both are a highly recommended with deep introspective and philosophical lyrics. My fav korean rapper :)* *P.S. Next recommendation is Daechwita (MV IS MUST AND TURN ON THE SUBTITLES !!) and What do you think by Agust d. Subtitle and lyrical videos are must for this*

His name is pronounced like the month “August” and then the letter “D”. His other stage name when he’s with BTS is Suga (basically like sugar without the r), and his real name is Yoongi 😊

In the hook where he says 'turned on by my tongue technology' he's actually saying 'Hong Kong'. In Korea this means to complete orally, in the past only for men but since the mid-2000s it's been used more and more as both.

This reaction was refreshingly genuine-seeming! I wish you'd react to AGUST D 'Daechwita' and to some BTS rap songs, with the live performance as well as the lyrics. 'Outro: Tear' and 'UGH' are a good place to start. Cypher medley is also a good intro to their live skills.

blackpink's raps are all just random aave words put together with no sense just to give themselves the image of a badass girlie, they do not care about writing raps or even take hip-hip and rap seriously. It's just an aesthetic for a switch up in their songs

@@-amel-9896 Not producing or writing your music doesn't make you bad at performing it. Those girls absolutely kill it and are fantastic singers, dancers, and rappers. In terms of delivery, there is no denying that they are well trained. It's fine if you don't like BLACKPINK, everyone has different tastes, but you're just wrong if you think they don't take rap seriously.

I would recommend checking out "The Last" by Agust D. It is a serious song full of passion. He put a lot into it. There isn't a mv for it, so you will just watch a lyric video.. but it is really worth it. Love to see your reaction and break down to it.. as well as some other BTS songs maybe.. 😁 💜

Glad that you finally got to react to Agust D!! I hope you react to some more of his raps. I recommend you react to "Give it to me", "The Last" "Daechwita", "what do you think?", and "Burn it", which are my favorite ones but I do love both of his mix tapes; I don't dislike any on them.
