Lmfao as always GREAT breakdown brother. Love the observation of Em using melodies. Him working with Rick Rubin actually brought that out, similar to how Rubin produced the Linkin Park album Minutes to Midnight. He encouraged Chester Bennington to tap into his vocals and we found he actually had a GREAT voice. Leading too less screamo style of singing to vocalizing. Prolly the best thing he got from Rick was the usage of his voice to degree. Sidenote love the podcast you and Stevie have together.

12:50 there’s also wicked highs and lows with pill addiction... unfortunately I’m a recovering pill addict and I’ve been clean for almost 7 years. It’s truly unlike anything I’ve ever experienced, as well as one of the hardest things I’ve ever overcome. I’m glad I did but I there’s a part of me that appreciates when I hear musicians write about it in their music, it really brings me back to those times that were so hard and miserable and I can actually feel what they’re talking about but it really makes me appreciate so much where I am now!!

Everytime I hear this song or other Eminem songs like "into deep" or "bad husband" i always feel so conncted with the songs because of how messed up people and relationships can be but also is storytelling and argumentation is just next level and so well spoken...and thought through every syllable. I love emimem's diversity of topics other rappers same stuff every track which can get old quick which played into why people started questioning rap music. Whole bunch of artist same stuff. Eminem said he chose to be different so he wouldn't be like everybody else. Past and present.

This version of The Hills Remix is by far my favorite. The other remixes were Okay at best. But Em killed this one and surpasses the original. In my opinion.
