Over 15 days, the Balangay Florentino Das traveled from Butuan City, then to Palawan, then to Pag-asa Island in the West Philippine Sea, before finally arriving in Manila on Tuesday, June 11.

The balangay is in a class of it's own in terms of sailing vessels. I comparison to the vinta, it's much larger. In terms of sailing roles, it falls more in line with a ship than a boat but not exclusively. It's main roles would be for trade and transport, but it can also carry several large lantaka and be used as a warship.
