If this guy ever pans out his potential is actually crazy. He’s now listed at 7’1 which means he grew. He can likely be just as tall as Edey in a couple of years except he runs like a Gazelle for his size and he’s athletic with long arms. It’s about getting him in a professional setting for a couple seasons with the 905 and helping him understand the game a little better because he’s still actually learning the game. He’s working on the 3 point shot but if this guy clicks he can be Masai’s biggest swing while costing him next to nothing. I see people saying stash him overseas but that’s not a good idea. He’s going to be with some organization that’s trying to win and won’t put time into developing him.

It will be interesting to see the development of Chomche and Ware. Similar built, height, and shooting range. High-motor vs low-motor. I think Chomche's quicker feet and willingness on defense will win out.

Some projected him going 19 to the Raptors. He's an absolute steal at 57. Watch the tape. He did a number on Adem Bona in the combine, who was picked 16 spots ahead of him.

I don’t think he see’s himself as just a center. He’s a Rich Paul client and there’s a picture of him and Lebron in the the gym. He said that he idolizes KD’s game and when you look at most of the players he looks up Pascal and Embiid are the only big’s and that’s likely because those guys are from his country. He likely see’s himself as a position-less, hybrid type like Giannis. This is why he likely put’s up a high volume of 3’s.

Even as a 57th pick, remember he is only 18 and even a year of work and experience can make a huge difference.. Had he waited a year he might have shot up in the draft numbers.

I'm pumped about this guy. Any 7 footer Centre is worth a risk. If he has the size and wingspan and we can bring him along we are getting him for a steal in the 2nd round and we do need a big centre. We have an undersized centre at 6'6 right now but a big wingspan. But still difficult for a 6'6 guy to play centre against some of the NBA monsters.

But, that could be a good thing. When the core hits their prime and is in contention, this guy could hit that peak at just the right time to contribute, and might be on a smaller contract due to signing it when he was a couple years away. Kinda like how OG and Siakam got good around 2019 and 2020 to contribute to an already good team, taking it to the next level.

Almost makes up for passing on Missi. He's several years away from Missi and Ware but the upside is higher due to the jumpshot and his willingness on defense. Athletic 7-footers with high motor do not grow on trees.

This is the BIG NEWS: Jalen Smith declines his player option and is set to hit free agency unrestricted - and with the signing of Pascal, and the Pacers wanting Isiah Jackson to take on a bigger role, this might squeeze out Smith. Raps are thin at back-up bigs, Kelly and the new guy Sasha are what we have (since Boucher is an after thought) - Smith fits the age group, can back up Jak, Kelly backs up Scottie, a nice 4 man rotation of bigs - if we trade Jak, Smith starts. He doesn't demand the ball, can run the court, plays big, great at put backs. Go sign him Raps!

First off all there is no telling if he would have been selected with the last pick and also if a player goes undrafted you have to batttle with other teams that might put offers on the table including European teams. He’s a Klutch client and nothing is ever for sure when dealing with Rich Paul. If the Lakers wanted to have a look at him he would have gone there in their system. The fact that the trade was made so late to grab him likely means Masai could have been shocked he was still there and was probably hearing from inside sources that teams would offer him a 2 way spot if he went undrafted..

Low risk… worth trying to develop. He just turned 18 and there were people in the draft over 23… don’t think some of those players would have even been a 57th pick at 18… you can’t say for sure he would never see an nba floor. Zach went from undrafted to the 9th pick.. clearly they see some potential.
@mikeyjames
@mikeyjames 27 күн бұрын
@@gavinchan2672u know some of these guys think it’s so edgy to be negative about a 57th, project piece but there’s late picks and undrafted players making it in the league more often that ever now. 2nd round picks aren’t throw away picks like they were before if some of these guys haven’t noticed. Teams were literally making trade’s to move up in the 2nd round. We just saw undrafted Fred Vanvleet get a max, Max Strus was another undrafted guy that just got paid and also Chris Boucher was a undrafted player found in the G league, Notm Powell was a late 2nd round pick. I hate entertaining casuals that don’t pay attention to what’s going on around the league now. Just because a player is a late draft pick or a undrafted player it doesn’t mean they’re a sure waste of time. A number of successful players in the league like Jokic were late 2nd round picks. Amir Johnson was drafted 56th! Amir was one of the most loved big men to wear a raptors jersey and if Casey didn’t mess up his career by over playing him to the point he picked up a chronic foot injury then he could haven been a allstar in this league. You can’t pay attention causal basketball fans that haven’t notice more and more success are coming from the 2nd round. This draft was so wide open talent wise that you don’t even know who is going to be a hit or a miss.
