Harden and Westbrook play exceptional in the regular season but when it comes to the playoffs they can’t seem to elevate their game to a higher level and sustain it during the playoff run without running out of gas. A Westbrook vs Harden western conference would be great given Warriors’s injuries. All time great players are able to sustain that higher level of play during their playoff runs.

Thank you Nick and Cris. The Raptors beat the Warriors 6 times (out of 8 meetings) this season. The Raptors have a better match up against the Warriors than most other teams. Don't take this away from how well the Raptors have played in the playoffs. They continued to upset the "favourites" (ie. Bucks, Warriors, 76ers) and did it all under the radar. When most US media doubted the Raptors, they continued to fight against adversity. This is the strangest NBA Final series where there was no "home court advantage". Both teams actually played better on the road (except Raptor's Game 1 win). I think it's the expectation and pressure that got to the players at home court. In any event, this is a collective effort from the Raptors. Everyone contributed to each of the series and each game specifically. Gasol's addition to the team was invaluable. He was excellent in the first three series, but less effective in the finals series due to the style of play the Warriors do (they never post up!). Since Game 4 of the Bucks series, VanVleet has been shooting three's like daggers. Then Siakim showed up in Game 1 and Game 6 of the Warriors. So did Kyle in Game 3, 5 and 6.

@@pane2125 Raptors beat the Warriors without Kawhi in one of the regular season games. So your point is? There is no guarantee that a full Warriors team would win the championship. It is all "what if" remarks. Kawhi played through his injuries in Game 3-6 against the Bucks. Kyle's left thumb was still taped.. VanVleet got his face elbowed.. OG never played in the playoff. it's not like the Raptors didn't have injury issues.

@@Psycho_Logical_631 Because majority of the players who suffered ACL tear were never the same after their recovery, mainly Derrick Rose... So there's a possibility that GSW may not offer him a max contract. I'm not saying he doesn't deserve a max contract, but it is definitely risky for the organization to give him that, especially after this injury. Then that can lead to Klay looking at other teams who may offer him a max contract. So there are like 1,000 scenarios that can happen this free agency.

I love Cris and Nick. Instead of talking about the "what ifs" like Stephen A and Skip about the Warriors injuries even after the Raptors JUST WONT championship, Cris and Nick focused on what the Raptors have done to get to this stage. It's a collective effort of the team. Besides the consistent Kawhi, you just didn't know which other Raptor would step-up, but it's the collective effort of the whole other 6-man--rotation roster (Kyle, VanVleet, Gasol, Green, Ibaka and Powell) that really worked for them.

Team work over individual talent. The Training/ Medical Staff is a critical part of any major sports team. Maintaining a healthy team, starts long before the finals. Toronto had a better Training Staff.

The biggest thing that can tend to happen to dynasty organizations, like the Warriors, is that after spending SO long on top of your conference, like Golden State has the last 5 years, players wear down over time, and the injury risk increases. You can't realistically expect to maintain NBA Title-caliber basketball like that over a period that long without that happening, and all it takes is for 1 team to get their set, and jump on that. The Toronto Raptors 2018-19 team lived up to their franchise name.....predators. Ones that smelled blood in the water, and sadly for the 29 U.S. NBA clubs, the Raptors went on a Canada-sized feeding frenzy. They ate everything in front of them(minus the #1 seed in the East and also the NBA regular season title, but I digress), and finally captured The Gold after 24 seasons and 25 years of trying. As a fan of the Raps, due to being born in and living in Canada, my tip of the cap does go to the Raps for bagging the title. But I don't give my wag of the finger to the Warriors. There's a reason they got to the NBA Finals, and a reason the Raps had to beat 'The Man' to BE 'The Man'. Thank you to the 2018-19 NBA Western Conference Champion Golden State Warriors for keeping us Raptors fans honest in the whole NBA Finals. Thank you the the 2018-19 NBA Eastern Conference and World Champion Toronto Raptors for finally giving Canada it's Larry O'Brien Trophy, and for handling yourselves with the class you did. The 2018-19 NBA season will be the best in Canadian basketball history for a long time. =)

What if. What if. This is sport - you play with the cards you have; There are no guarantees. If every win were predetermined then it would not be called competition. The raptors fought every round and won fair and square. Please give credit where it is due. They are the current best team in the NBA!!! Bravo!

We'll see who goes and who stays.....because I find it hard to believe they will play all of next season as is.....we already know Klay and Durant will be out. It's possible Looney will miss a lot of games at the start of the season....Iguadala and Livingston most likely retire.

Seems to me the LAL are the only constant desirable location, with different markets becoming the flavour of the week (Bay Area, Miami, and Houston). Atlanta, Chicago, NYK haven't attracted squat lately. Fact is on any given off-season 95% of NBA teams have no hope of attracting talent. As a league the NBA would be better served contracting 6 to 10 teams. The top tier talent in the NBA dictate the league much more than the top talent in the NFL, NHL, and MLB. There isn't enough talent for 30 teams.
