Some of the records and other things I found this week at estate sales and thrift stores. Some interesting early rock and roll 78s, a few surf 45s, and some soul and funk thrown in. Also I found a few interesting LPs as well.

Hull was a NYC label that operated out of the Brill Building on 1650 Broadway.

Yes, Diana Ross even related in an interview about the release of "Come See About Me." It was hastily put out as a result of Nella Dodds' version but too soon for Berry Gordy's liking (but he did it anyway). Because it was right on the heels of "Baby Love" as it was still climbing and nearing the top of the charts.

Geno Washington was the guy Dexys Midnight Runners had a hit single with in the UK. Geno had 2 live LPs in the late 60s on Pyle Records pink and black level. You and Mack Stevens are 2 great channels to watch for 78s and early 45s.

I have only just discovered your channel and I must say I am impressed. I collect old 45rpm singles and sometimes I might come across an interesting 78 as well. I like you passion for this subject I must say.

Thanks. This is a fairly new channel and it's great to see folks who are into this content. Originally it was going to be about vintage collectibles including records, but the music content took over.

The Medallions you have on black Dootone was the third press. First is on red label, same as Earth Angel, then came blue, then black..AND there is a 4th on a yellow label Dootone.

I need to sell more since my collection is very large and always growing. Started thrifting vinyl back in the eighties. Might start selling at car events since I can get a large number of records and a table in my '73 Ford van.

I have The Medallions 45rpm, "The Letter" b/w "Buick 59" . There was a model 52, model 56, model 61, but as far as I know, no model 59 was made in 1954. I've always wondered what they were referring to.

It's definitely a mystery. Most people think it's referring to the year, but the record was five years too early.

They thought the song would be revived in five years, so they titled it "Buick '59". That was rock historian Norm N. Nite's explanation.

I subscribed to you. I started this channel to do collectibles and records, but the records videos got the most views. My dad and I used to go to that Toluca Lake Bob's every Friday for cruise night. I still go fairly often. I hit local thrifts often, but the Goodwills and Salvation Armys are overpriced and picked over around here. I'm having better luck at estate sales and buying lots.

The other side of the Packers 45 was a hit, "Hole In the Wall". The group has a Stax tie...Packy Axton of the Mar-Keys was the group's founder.

I have a beat copy of the Pure Soul Records by the Packers. I found it in a Chicago record shop. If I'm not mistaken, the label is a Chicago based label. I think I have 1 or 2 others from that label that are pretty good. Cool finds! Keep up the videos!!
