Before cementing his legendary status as an NBA star and Los Angeles Laker, Kobe Bryant was a high school student at Lower Merion High School in a suburb of Philadelphia. A VHS tape from 1996 shows a 17-year-old Kobe Bryant.

As a Jordan fan growing up, I gotta admit - it took me a LONG time to warm up to Kobe. Walked like MJ, talked like MJ, mouth expressions on court like MJ, carbon copied MJ’s patented moves…then I remembered something around chip number 4 - I used to spend 4-5 hours a day trying to be like Mike! All us kids did! Kobe is the only human to ever walk the Earth who could say he came close…respect ✊🏻 See you in heaven Kobe

Kobe was never close to Jordan lol maybe subjectively he's close to Jordan and lebron but objectively he's nowhere near jordan or lebron lol Kobe was just slightly above the average NBA players he was trying too hard to be like Michael but sadly he never came close to Jordan the closest to Jordan is lebron James in fact lebron is even better than Jordan lebron James the greatest player ever😊

I pay 500$ for front row seat to see him everytime his lakers came to Houston. The only player I was going to shell out that much money to see live, and every time he delivered. They got to watch him for free.

Its still hard to believe he is gone seems just like yesterday I remember back in 1996 when he got drafted in the nba my family just got cable tv for the first time so Kobe has always be part of my childhood from him guess starring in sitcom shows like "sister sister", "Moesha", 'In the House", and his hilarious guest apperance on the popular 90s nickelodeon show "All that" those were some fun times in my life with that being said Kobe is truly a legend and Kobe just know we all miss you and Gigi till we all see you in heaven we will always be thinking about you both on Earth everyday

He filled the MASSIVE post MJ void & dominated his era. That's all you can do. And MJ wouldn't have dominated as much if Prime Magic, Kareem, Wilt, Moses Malone, Dr. J, Bird, The Bad Boys etc. were playing in the 90's. The league also switched up rules for him too
