@@jessiebarnes4671 The meaning for that phrase is targeted. A confident person will read that phrase as needed, to help a low spirit, recognize the beauty in that which they are. A less confident person, will see that comment, as a way to establish themselves over 'something' by commenting on it in a negative fashion...

It is called Kintsukuroi, and it is more to it than the object because more beautiful with cracks. It is because it is repaired wth gold.

I wish people felt that way about other people. Unfortunately, when some people see the imperfections in others, they focus on those minor cracks and forget that they themselves are damaged as well. We should not judge others for their mistakes or weaknesses.

I hope and I could be just having a wishful thinking but I really hope this movie gets him at least if not a win at the Oscars next year at least a nomination because judging from this trailer alone all I can think of is him all I’m focused on is him. He is A very incredible actor he’s like Tim Curry.

Based on a book by Kathleen Tessaro of the same name. It's basically the same story, but all the ethnicities have been changed and the book takes place in 1930s Boston. It's a super book (As are all Ms. Tessaro's books). Read it! : )

Kintsugi art...gold filled cracks.. love that we are more valuable because of the things that tried to destroy us...only made us treasures. I am a treasured possession of Jesus Christ. He is the gold that filled all my cracks from trauma growing up and through out life.

I had never heard of the art Kintsugi until it was mentioned in a novel I started reading just a few days ago and finished yesterday and I see it mentioned in this film too :) I think I will enjoy this film as it seems relatable. Looking forward to it.

It is a beautiful art. They take time on the breaks, cleaning every speckled crack and filing it with special gold mix..you can find the process of it on KZfaq - i think Insider did a piece on a family who does it the traditional way.. it's quite beautiful how they have generations of love into their art! Great analogy in the book because a Japanese women i knew, who came here with her WWII veteran husband. She had a piece and it captivated me. I finally asked her and it was her mother's, only thing that was left of her she could carry but broke in the madness of war. She helped me with my piece, my care bear cup (i was 12) - i fell in love with pottery that day. I have a private studio and create pottery to this day. I have several pieces broken but made whole again. But when she passed, i got her momma's tea cup..it sits next to my momma's favorite tea cup which was my grandmothers as a daily reminder of the 3 sweetest impactful, loving women who always inspired and pushed me to mend my breaks in my spirit and shine on..

I loved the novel! One of my favorite things about the novel was the historical part about Boston and the north end. I'm a little disappointed at the modern twist.

Don't know if I want to watch this movie, just halfway through the trailer was already tearing up, it's hitting a little too close to home here. Not ready to examine myself that much, maybe watch at a later date ' the wounds of some hearts are not always visible to the natural eye'

No, Katie, it's actually what's inside your head/body that makes you ill (not ''crazy''). Some of us are BORN with mental illness, for many of us it's biological, genetical aka IN your head and body. Source? Me and my endogenic clinical depression that even if excacerbated from trauma and experience, is INSIDE my body and head, and makes my whole body and persona function abnormally, down to the most basic functions. But sure, lets pedal anti-scientific crap with BS slogans and buzzwords, why not.
