These days Northern Rail promote travel in quiet months on the Settle Carlisle by having low fares, British Railways had a better idea for the Settle Carlisle line, using unusual haulage. I had forgotten about these so thanks for the reminder EErail26. I found in my archive I got more than just the class 20 hauled one. This time a freight sector class 56 departs Leeds for Carlisle as well as a variety of other trains running in and out of Leeds

Thank you Jimmy Not sure if the 225 was a failure or empty being taken to Doncaster works. Red Arrows was waiting to be dragged to Neville Hill, they did not electrify to there until the rest of ECML was done, a stupid decision to make an electric train depot with no overheads.

Thank you rob. It was a great spot and we also went in the triangle both were technically trespassing but back then there were no fences and people were sensible keeping well away from the track so no one really minded

@@cedarcamI pass it everyday driving on the awful Armley Gyratory and it’s not somewhere I’d like you to hang around now for a while,shame that we don’t get many locos passing now either.

@@robc9845 I look back now and think how safe you felt in this area but as you say I would not like to hang around long with a camera these days. Not much to go there for now anyway with so few locos about. Steam still passes quite often but most times I go to Carlisle to see those.
