I have been wanting a monkey tail cactus for soooooo long! I finally invested in a mature hanging basket of one. This was definitely a challenging but exciting unboxing! I also want to show off a couple other rare plants I've gotten lately that I did NOT expect to aquire at this point in my plant collecting journey.

Wow! I recently ordered some plants from Hannah last week and she did a great job packaging them up and even gifted me a free Monkey Tail cutting! Love it.

The plant market is wild! I found 3 (!!) 6” hanging/trailing baskets at HD today for $12 each 😮 tbh been on the hunt since watching this upload!!

@@PlantedPersonalities monkey!! I happened to catch a local FB post where a guy had found 12, I showed up an hour later they were being bought by the cart full LOL. Nashville! They were grown by Altman Plants, and in the basic Smart Planet Homes brown hanging baskets 😮

Same the monkey tail cactus has been on my wishlist so far all I’ve found are small starters. And same I want a more established plant. Just haven’t found one yet.

I feel like they’re hard to come by! At least mature forms. I seriously can’t recommend We Are Plant Lovers enough - she actually posted on IG lately that she got a bunch more mature ones in so check her out ! She shipped it super well and super fast (like 3 days)

One thing I will never do is use that polyfil directly against a plant. I understand what they are trying to do but Ive had plants completely fall apart from the next gardener trying to get that stuff off of them.

Do you know what is the best insecticide to prevent mealy bugs and scale on monkey tails? I’ve searched everywhere for tips but can’t find any.

Honestly I don’t! But if it were me, I’d just ensure to give it a spray down every once in a while to keep things flowing through the pot and spray with usual preventative sprays like “Dead AF” or “Leaf Wellness Spray” from plant bar co. They have great options that are safe and organic.

I have this exact one: amzn.to/42qBfAp ! I love it! Especially when it was cold and snowy here over the winter it came in handy. I tend to work at my computer when I get home from work lol so sometimes I didn't notice I walked like 4 miles while on my computer (I have a standing desk). Good way to get in steps :) I like that the one I got can fold up and down for convenience, but beware you can't really run on it even though it says you can when folded up. Not super stable for running. I ony intended to walk though so it doesn't matter for me!

Are you referring to the monkey tail? Or the other plants haha ☺️ I got the monkey tail just as a general order (there weren’t names) and the others were from Lost in the Forrest Co
