Had 1973 4 door Pontiac Grand Ville 455 that I inherited from my Mom, black over brown metallic with the fender skirts. Used to love to flip over the air cleaner lid which opened up a slot and created an awesome “ga-whoosh” when the Four Barrel carb and passing gear kicked in haha!

I miss cornering lights/curb lights. I had four Cadillacs (three from the late 70s) and one from the early 80s. The lamps on those cars were almost as bright as alley lights.

Most of those v8's in the mid 70's had more horsepower in reality than on paper in the Chilton manual😁They didn't handle or brake like newer cars, but the motors were bears

Oh yes, old memories agree, Buick’s did look saggier in back. I had used 76 Olds Delta 88 Royale 4 door hardtop. Massive 455 V8. Yet I think it could sneak up to 15 mpg’s which was better than other brand’s "biggies" at 12/13 mpgs. Pretty cinnamon red with white top. Was fun to roll all hardtop windows down and wide view. Sometimes have a friend drive and sit in back, seemed like a limo and the hood stretched on forever. Was handed down to 4 family members, made it to 300k miles. Never leaked, never used oil, always started. People just got tired of driving it and parked. The worst worn out roads were barely felt, it was the best used car I ever had. Rust was its only prob in the end. Awesome sled and land yacht !! I greatly preferred the 1976 first year rectangular headlights. The whole front design is rectangles and squares, seems a better fit, more balanced/even. It was the very last year of behemoths and I think last dedicated Olds motor in Olds, Pontiac motor in Pontiac, etc. Was it the last year of bullet proof turbo-hydramatic 400?? I also remember the huge 76 Caddy Sedan De’Villes with slab sides and new rectangular lamps. Nice sleds. I recall outraged customers learning their 77 slimmed down Olds did not have an Olds engine, Pontiac, the same, etc. "I didn’t buy a higher end GM model to have a Chevy motor !!" they moaned in 77/78. Another lovely one that stands test of time in design looks, the 73 Pontiac Grand Am. It advertised a plastic front nose that could take a dent and pop right back out, no damage. Sporty sexy good looks. I shall never understand how GM could be selling Pontiacs by the millions and not make enough profit to keep building them !!! Dumb move GM.

I love them all (Chevy, Pontiac, Olds and Buick) for each of their unique styling cues. This Olds is so handsome it's hard to imagine anything looking any better.
