I had a 1979 Specialty model in Night Watch Blue. Tinted windows, velvet - blue corduroy interior, all power options available, and an after market Alpine cassette player that I installed. Nothing I have driven since can compare!

My late father bought a 1966 Cadillac Fleetwood 4 door hardtop from it original owner circa 1970. It was the most luxuirious car on our block. Except for the 1964 Fiat which he bought new, every American car he bought was from its original owner. His first car was a 1950 Pontiac Chieftain a 2 door hardtop which he had for several years that he bought in 1956.

We loved our '89 Olds Cutlass Supreme International. However, I did spend disprportionally on the suspension and brakes. @250,000 miles the interior and the HVAC controls were getting finicky and worn. great fun while it lasted. the 2.8 got phenominal mileage on the highway, and the leather seats with power expandible headrests were very comfortableon long road trips. The kids did complain of the poor view out the back (Fixed) windows.

I have a soft spot for the Cimarron. Not because I ever owned one, but because I bought a new 2001 Acura 1.7EL. It was only available in Canada, and it was essentially a fully optioned Civic EX with a bit of chrome trim, upgraded wheels (15" instead of 14"), rear disc brakes instead of drums, and front/rear styling differences. I was proud of my car but got into a heated debate with someone in an online forum who claimed it was 'just as bad as a Cimarron'. I realize the fundamental difference (and problem for the Cimarron) was that it was overpriced. My 1.7EL was a good value as an option package on the Civic EX (i think the difference was about a ~C$2k premium on the C$21.5k Civic EX). Getting the Acura nameplate and distinguishing styling was just a cherry on top. If the 1.7EL cost 40% more than the Civic EX (like the Cimarron over even the highest optioned Buick J car), I would have never considered it at all.

The Buick Wildcats were the best all around cars Buick made!!! Style, performance, ride, handling, reliability & durability all define Buick Wildcats!!! I owned three Wildcats, a 64,68, & a 70!!! Out of the three, the 68 had the best styling, but the 70 had the most horsepower & torque!!! The 64 was also a great car with the bulletproof 401 Nailhead!!! The 68 had the 430 that was also a very strong reliable engine!!! The 68 had that cool fastback roof!! The 68 Wildcat is a true icon in styling alone!!!

The rear hubcaps (both sides) were missing in some of the shots. If you really watch closely, you can see the car actually moving with the waves when the rear hubcaps are present. The car is not moving at all with the waves when the hubcaps are missing. The video resolution isn't good enough to tell for sure, but my guess is that they found out they had to anchor the car to the rock to keep it from washing away and they used the rear wheel studs as the mounting points.

Right-handed left turns are the safest and reduces a massive number of wrecks. Arizona was the first State I learned of them, and fell in love with them, they save soooo much time. Anyhow, North Carolina is putting/replacing more and more lefts with the right-handed left exchanges. Just fyi.

You mentioned the motor mount failure. Instead of properly re-engineering the motor mounts, Chevrolet's "fix" was to ship kits to dealers that simply had a short length of braided metal cable that bolted to the motor mount and then looped around the upper control arm shaft. As a teenage parts counter man, I must have pushed hundreds of the kits across the counter into the mechanic shop.

Interesting that you featured a 1965 Impala SS with a 409. I never realized the 409 was even available in the '65 until a few days ago when I saw one on the Volo Cars website. I like learning new things, even though I'm sometimes sad that I'm not nearly as smart as I like to think I am.

I appreciate this car in particular that you feature, as we had a '71 Marquis in this color when I was a kid. So I thought I'd ask, since we also had a '69 Monterey: do you have an Montereys? My grandfather was once upon a time a champion Lincoln/Mercury salesman in Terre Haute (he won FoMoCo contests), so Mercury was not an uncommon choice for people in the family (my dad refers to them as "Big Ms"). I show him videos from your channel, which he enjoys watching. Out of curiousity, it seems from some of your videos that sometimes you sell these...?

My parents had a gold 1970 El Dorado Cadillac coup with a gold leather interior and white vinyl top. My dad liked the color since El Dorado meant in Spanish the Golden, referring to a city of gold. We had it to haul a 30 ft travel trailer over half of the US and Canada. In addition because of the gas shortage, my dad had rigged it up to also take propane too. With the tank in the trunk all we had to do was flip a switch under the dash board and we had an extra full tank to go. We didn't have to worry about odd and even days. My parents Cad also had electric back windows with a lock switch at the main controls on the driver's door. I remember this quite well because when we would travel though hot places like the desert, my dad would lock the windows and turn on the AC. Problem was he would fire up his pipe and wouldn't let me roll down my side of the window because of the hot air outside. He tried to convince me that the AC was circulating the smoke out, but I still complained. It was cool to be able to burn rubber from the front tires. One thing I remember about the car was it had such a long hood. We didn't have a center console , it was just an armrest. It was a good car till it broke down and nobody was able to fix it. A lot of great memories with that car. Thanks!

My 65 Impala with the 283 was great... until the motor mounts broke and I was full throttle into the front of my Mom's 67 Catalina! Had to get rid of the car ss the motor mounts broke 4 more times. Scary experience! Still overall it was a good car. Great gas mileage. Thank you for the video Adam! 😊

My Grandmother and Parents had 66 Cadillac coupe de viles. Under the dash between the e brake and brake, but again on the underside of dash, there was an orange/red glass knob. I was a kid and no one seemed to know what this was. Any idea? Looked kinda like a roll of thread with one end cut off and mounted to the dash.

Uh, I owned a 1965 Chevrolet Impala. Not a perfect car. The car had a 283 engine, aside from the smoke it generated at 150,000 miles, the engine never developed more than 200 HP for a 2 ton car. The rear window frame had a tendency to rust and leak water into the trunk. The 60s model chevies had a problem with the points and condenser which let to ignition failure in humid environments. If you took the Chevy to the beach, every morning once the dew had lifted you needed to remove the distributes cap, clean the points, and put them back. The factory fuel cleaning system was inferior and you frequently had to remove the needle valves to clean them. Let’s see, the alignment threads for the front end were substandard for the weight of the vehicle and the front end needed to be constantly be aligned. Some people tried to avert this by driving up at speed to a wheel stop. The brakes were all drum breaks, and the rear brakes often locked up because the breaking system was out of balance. The Station wagon had to much wieght on the rear end and spring failure was a common problem. 60s model Chevy had a problem with the connector at the fire wall, it was not uncommon for the ignition or other systems to fail because of bad connection at the firewall.

My favorite year of the Impala. Those two commercials though were ridiculous! Only thing I never liked is the fastback roof design. I preferred the sedan roof which I don't believe was available on a 2-door until 1968.

I don't think any of those older cars were nearly as ugly as these new vehicles, especially the SUV's!!! They have 0 styling or distinction & all look the same!!! The only way you can tell one brand from another is by the badge!!! The old station wagons were better than those SUV's in every way!!! SUV's look like SHIT!!!

Back in the day when Cadillac literally WAS "The luxury standard of the world" and even Rolls-Royce looked to Cadillac for inspiration. I say, BRING IT BACK. BRING BACK LAND YACHTING. I don't want my next Cadillac to be a "luxury sport sedan", I want it to be a real land yacht. Comfort, convenience, and HUGE. Room in the trunk for ten live hookers...or twenty dead ones. Seating for eight. Twelve if they're Asian. Big enough to TRIPLE PARK.

I had an 89 Beretta GT with a digital dash, very cool, very Knight Riderish. The "This is not your father's Oldsmobile" ad campaign alienated alot of Olds older customers who felt they were betrayed by them going after a younger demographic (which they were) However, younger buyers felt it was an old person's car, so even though they had great vehicles, the strategy backfired.

It’s hard to find good mechanics or shops that are willing to work on these classics.
