In August, I sold my 1976 Mark IV with 25k on it, my 77 Town Coupe, and 89 Town Car with 37k on it. The Ford products definitely have a distinctive solid sound when you close the doors. I also sold my 79 Seville and 72 Olds Toro. I haven't driven them since 2014. I was ready and it was time to let them go to someone who wanted them and would drive them. I only kept my mom's 1968 Impala which she ordered new. It is now riding on its 3rd (yes third) set of tires. It has 62k on it. My brothers and I were not allowed to wear shoes in her car; she would put them in the trunk. That car is special to me and I would never let it go. It is nearly flawless.

This car brings back lots of memories from my youth; I got lots of practice learning how to drive on my boss's 1974 Marquis Brougham. It was a 2dr black with a white vinyl top and a white interior. It had power windows, power door locks, power driver's seat, power trunk release, and a Philco AM-FM stereo radio. Despite the fact that it had taken a beating, it had lots of power and a very smooth ride. Yes, the heat and air conditioning worked beautifully. Of course, high test gasoline was a must. Thanks very much for the memories.

"Handsome" is the perfect description for this cool car. Love the crank windows, reminds me of my old Caprice. Your new wheel covers really do make the car stand out for sure. Your winning me over Adam, can honestly say I would love to own one of these great coupes.

Just want to say thank you again for preserving this car (and the rest of your fleet). If not for you, there's a good chance these cars would've wound up extinct before long. Not only are you building a great collection under your own care, but you're also instilling an appreciation for these among car guys who might've otherwise totally ignored them- or worse, sent them to the junk yard.

Adam I agree, the turbine vane wheel covers really pop and make the car look so much more classy looking. I am not a fan of most 1974 models of any make as the rail road tie bumpers take away from the styling. However this car is so unique I can appreciate why you are pleased with it.

I just returned from a trip to Cape Cod with my 1989 Mercury Grand Marquis LS 50th Anniversary Edition and it performed flawlessly. These Mercury's ride and perform so well on long trips with very plush seating and good fuel economy ( 24 mpg average ) .A large trunk will hold plenty of luggage and spare fluids which I carry in all my vehicles. You really scored with this coupe !

I used to have a '77 Marquis 4-door. Essentially the same dash and interior but mine did have the arm-rests. 400 ci V8, The thing was a tank! I bought it at a garage sale for 225 dollars in 1994. The rear bumper was missing, and the passenger side fender looked like someone used a baseball bat and smashed it as hard as they could, putting a hefty kink into that otherwise clean top edge of the fender and partially across the hood. The front shocks were completely non-functional, so the car bounced as if it were on a trampoline. But for 225, getting a running driving car was still a good deal. I was 18 years old, and drove like a maniac back then. If my foot was on the gas pedal, the pedal was to the floor. I drove the hell out of that car. 120 wasn't just the last number on the speedometer, it was a goal. A goal that I tried to exceed many times. At one point I had the speedometer pointer buried under the bezel. That old beater got raced, off-roaded, hot-rodded, drifted,.. pretty much anything a teenage driver with some skills could do with such a car. The thing just kept going. Eventually, it did begin to succumb to the rough treatment. The transmission began to malfunction and had to be manually shifted. The rear diff made grinding, "whump whump whump" noises and it began to smoke. I had already bough another car, but wanted to keep the merc. But my dad made me get rid of it. I actually drove it to the salvage yard. I tried to sell it. but it sat for 2 months with $50 on the sign. No one would buy it! The salvage yard gave me 70 dollars. I came back to the salvage yard about 4 moths later to get a part for the car I had at the time, and asked about the old 77 Marquis. He said that he put a different transmission in it, swapped out the fender & hood, found a rear bumper, and put 90-weight oil in the diff. He sold it for 400 bucks. About 3 years after that, I saw it going down a back road with a white fender and hood. I knew it was the same car due to the dent in the door, and the missing filler panel between the tail-lights and bumper. Old farmer dude was driving it. I still miss that car sometimes..

I was stranded with my friend 3 times in his '74 Marquis Brougham 4 door pillared hardtop. That car liked to chew up starters.
