Mix of rarely seen planes flying low over the tree tops at Dunsfold Wings and Wheels airshow in Surrey, England.
It's a great buzz when you don't see them coming and all of a sudden they appear over the trees upon you, in an exciting fashion!
Aircraft in the video include:
Tornado GR4
Hawker Hunter Miss Demeanour
Gloster Meteor
Vulcan XH558
RAF Lancaster PA474
RCAF Lancaster FM213

@@bobsurgranny I just watched your video again and I think it one of the best videos I have seen. Its in a natural location, no blearing commentary, typical Englishness with the cricket, Oak tress and a Union Jack, a few deck chairs and you get some of the best angles on the aircraft that probably the people at the airshow don't see.The sound is very good, people just out enjoying the spectacle. Again brilliant from me. Thumbs up.

As an American living in the mid-west, I was fortunate to see three in service Vulcans. Witnessed XL-390's last flight in 1978; The RAF returned in 1980 with XL-446. XM-575 came in 1981 nearly at the end of her service life, and here I was lucky beyond belief getting an inside / outside tour along with the Nimrod that was also in town.

As an Englishman, living in the ..erm...England. I had quite a few Airfix model planes. Most were English, The Spitfire (obviously), the Lancaster, the Mosquito, the Hurricane. But there was an American fighter which I absolutely adored, that of course being the P51 Mustang. Superb aircraft!

@@madspaniel4271 I wouldn't assume your nationality is where your home is at as I have also lived in your country as well. As for the models -- Should've built a Hustler, or something exotic like that. I can see "our stuff" any day, so I gravitated to the foreign. Hasegawa did a lot of those. Most of mine were Revell, and Monogram as the latter was based here locally, we could just go direct to them wholesale. back in the day.

When I was kid in the 80's we used to get Vulcans doing low level runs in the valleys around my uncle's farm in Wales; you'd be out on a hillside, and suddenly whoooom this huge thing would roar up over you, often with another aircraft nearby. More than a couple of times I'd be bowled over in shock - and lie there awestruck as it howled over, so close that it felt I could reach out and touch it. Good times!

@@bobsurgranny ownership is not why she doesn't fly anymore. The charity that own her would still have her flying today if it was legally possible, but the CAA will not grant a licence without manufacturer tech support. BAE and the other technical support companies withdrew their support, so the licence could not be extended. That's the reason she was grounded.

Nice video. What I find incredible is to think that those two iconic bombers, the Lancaster and the Vulcan (both built by Avro) were designed by the same person, the late Roy Chadwick. Even more incredible that, whilst there was 10 years separating the first flights of each (1942 and 1952), the Vulcan was designed in response to a 1947 specification in effect separating the designs of each aircraft by just 5 years!
@thebigc8224

The fact there are only ten years separating those two aircraft is really amazing. Talk about giant leaps in tech.
@brianbates9815

@@thebigc8224 on a related subject, consider the American B52 which also coincidentally first flew in 1952. Here we have an aircraft that has received multiple upgrades and is expected to stay in service until 2050. That would be like a bomber from 1920s still being in service today! It seems inconceivable but really demonstrates the leaps made in those first 50 years of flight.

... that second Lancaster was a rare thing, visiting from Canada that year - had to fly over the Atlantic, stopping once to refuel (Iceland?) then had to be "certified" to fly with the RAF (military) Lanc, since it is a civilian aircraft. At first I thought they were waving to tell us to go away. But no, they helped up onto the top and let me walk around on top of it. 1990s of course, wouldn't be allowed to do anything like that now. Shame none of these are left flying. I hope that maybe if the cost of one off printed parts comes down that we could make brand new copies of aircraft (and cars etc) of models that we no longer have.

My fave when in the RAF was working on the Sepecat Jaquars, avionics. It was a flying farm tractor, could land on a potato field if needed. It's undercarriage was agricultural strong.

Some excellent camera footage there, now in my mid fifties, but seeing that Vulcan footage brought back fond childhood memories of living with my parents just down the road from RAF Waddington, were the Vulcans would scramble on a daily basis, l would stand in the garden as a child and watch in ore as the ground would shake, and the power of those awesome engines would resonate throughout my body.

Gee, I can't decide which was more exciting; watching the cricket or the aircraft. Whoever posted this did a great job on the camera work.

I love the Vulcan!! Probably wont get to see one in person. Haven’t seen a Lancaster in person yet either but I was fortunate enough to see the Mosquito a few years ago at a local air show.

A couple of Vulcans were stationed at Offutt AFB here in Omaha. At one of the open house/air shows years ago a Vulcan took off and did a slow roll & climbed out. Incredible!

The Vulcan is my favourite military aircraft of all time, I just think it's stunning. I get giddy like a child when I see videos of one flying. I've no real 'attachment' to it - I describe it akin to how some kids love firetrucks! I'll be damned if I'm ever going to grow up though! ahahaha
