It's easier with no load (passengers, luggage, freight, supplies, water, etc.) and probably not much fuel load, either.

I think it's dangerous because the pilots still push those aricrafts to their limits and at that low altitude any mistake fatal because unrecoverable@@rdspam

I'm blessed to live right next to the Homestead Air Force Base in Florida. I get to see an airshow every day! Everything from old school aircraft like A-10s and B-52s, to the most state of the art fighters doing incredibly low passes. Its so awesome!

im like an hour away from whiteman so i see chinooks all the time i saw two T-38s flying right next to me a couple days ago even once saw a 3 or 4 B-2s on the way to school and i tell you those things are QUEIT!

I was in a school not far from farnborough airport , and it’s cool in the week before the actual airshow cause obviously some of the pilots do training for the stunts before hand, which I then get to observe in the distance. Plus all the private jets coming low overhead for certain approaches into farnborough is always fun to see.

The f16 thing happened to me when I was watching the thunderbirds at the Abbotsford air show except the f16 was 100 feet above me and I swear that it took a solid second for the sound to hit me.

The late great Art Scholl used to do a sequence where he was dressed like a bum and stole a Piper Cub or something like that. He would fly just a couple feet above the ground and do flat turns that were hilarious. He would even fly behind a building and be out of sight for moment. Of course, this was all carefully choreographed.

those aren;t dangerously steep takes offs... with a low fuel load and no passengers... there is an excess of thrust available to make a dramatic takeoff.

It is dangerous to do a steep climb out with or without Pax or fuel load. There's an increased risk of stall or backslip.

I saw the Thunderbirds fly overhead at an air show! Best experience of my life!! It felt as if they were gonna fly directly at me and pulled up over my head. It was beautiful! I wish I could be a Thunderbird, but I don’t think I could. :/

These are all pretty badass, but the one that started it all was when the prototype Boeing 707 doing a double barrel-roll during a boat show in 1955 as IATA and AIA executives watched. Yeah, it wasn't an actual air show, but that stunt, as the test pilot put it later, was "selling your damn airplane". If airlines never bit on the 707, who knows where jet technology would be.

These are not insane stunts for the pilots.They know what they are doing. If one of those big planes does the loop de loop,I would consider that a very dangerous/insane stunt.

A stunt us a reckless thing to do. This are all well trained and well rehearsed manoeuvres for which the pilot has a special Display Authorisation. I am a former Air Boss at these types of events.

Time 00:20. A kind of that take off i used at my exam due hard and gusty winds. "Nailed the plane to the runway to gain speed and control. A very late arriving examinator, and late in the afternoon. The start was like jumping up from the runway. The worried examinator pointed out I didn't have 2 jet engines pushing, only an 80 HP Rolls Royce..... I passed the check.....

Because the F/A-18 has a 20mm gun with 410 rounds. The A-10 has a 30mm auto-cannon with 1175 rounds. The A-10 has titanium armor surrounding the pilot and is almost impervious to small arms fire.
