As I sat in front of my wife's desk cleaning it out as she went into God's arms August 9th 2021, a simple post it note was in front of me on her cork board. It merely said Rascal Flatts Broken Road she wasn't a country fan and I knew it was left there for me to find and play, it is the most beautiful parting gift my Bride could have possibly have left for me.

I am not a country music fan, but I can't help but tear up listening to this song. My parents were married for 29 years, and toward the end it got very unhealthy and my father caused my mother to suffer a lot. They split when I was 19 and it was really rough because we didn't really see it coming. My dad was dating up a storm and my mom was just working on healing herself. After a year of being single, my mom found Dave. Dave had been through the same thing in his marriage and has two daughters that are both my sister and I's age. He is a man of few words and doesn't talk about his feelings much, but one day he put this song on while my he and my mom were washing dishes after dinner, and he said "it's like they wrote this for us", and asked her to dance right there in the kitchen. That was around their four-year anniversary, and they have been together for eight-and-a-half years. Dave is now my step-father, and this song just reminds me of how grateful my family and I are to have him in our lives.

For me, this song has a spiritual meaning. When I think about the lyrics, to me they speak in such a way that relates to a road leading to one's faith. My faith has recently been strengthened, and I know I have still a lot yet to learn about my Creator......and I still have plenty of room to grow in the many years of my future. I thank Him for all the warmth He has given me, especially during recent times when keeping my head up was not what I wanted to do. I love this song so much. :D

He put me through misery, but I loved him so much. I couldn't let him go. I was there when he had no job, and car. He stilled lived at home. I paid for his cell phone bills and food and stuff he needed and wanted. He would verbally and mentally abuse me. He would call me fat and ugly and stupid. There was so many things that I did that I wouldn't ever do again for another man. I had a enough, third girl he put before me. I said that is it. I wrote him a poem saying " IN SILENCE YOU WILL HEAR ME". Now I am married to this amazing man. He is so kind, he is not perfect but I know he loves me. He always shows me. This was the song we danced to for our wedding. Every year since the anniversaries we would dance to this song. The anniversary we started to date and our wedding date. We will be married for six years from September 2013. Been together for seven years since March 2012. I hope there are more years to come. i love him. He as well had bad relationships before him. They took advantage of him being a hard worker and wanting to give them everything. They cheated on him. This song was made for us.
