I have 3 LG thin q and use the official Homebridge plugin and also a Sensibo (non Hk model) to control the daikin using the official sensibo plugin

Thanks for the updated video Eddie!!! I have one question which is an issue I can't get past. I'm on a Mac Pro (Intel CPU) When I try to login with the password, via terminal I get permission denied incorrect password. When I go back to the RPi flashing app and edit settings the password has changed and under option there's a large pre-filled SHA key , but it's unchecked. I've done this countless times with multiple SD Cards and with two different RPi's 5. One way I've found that works, but doesn't allow me to use the RPi 5 is to use the 64 Bit legacy RPi Lite os.

Thanks Eddie! Any advice on adapting the scripts if one is using an argon case with an SSD (as you had recommended a few years ago?) also am I right to expect all of this to functions on a Pi4 as well?

You can adapt the script for the argon 1 case with the pi 4. Only thing is you’ll need to run this additional script to kick in the fans for cooling github.com/okunze/Argon40-ArgonOne-Script

Great video, although a bit too complicated as I haven't fully understood what Portainer and Scrypted are for, as they weren't needed in your previous builds that are working fine. I've made a Homebridge built based on one of your videos with a Raspberry Pi 3 - Model B. Can I upgrade it with this build? Also, I don't have remote access to HomeKit (from outside my home wifi network). Is it because I don't have yet an Apple TV or Homepod, or is there other way to enable it?

You'll need an Apple TV or a HomePod mini to get external access to your home. You'll need at a minimum a pi 4 with 4GB to use this install. However since you have a stable setup - I'd recommend to leave it as it is and enjoy the smart home you have built

You have to do it via a PC using Putty or a Mac using Terminal to access the Pi

I haven't used the NVR service and unable to comment. In my case - mines all via the Unifi Protect system

I fixed it, I changed it to the default password and user in your video, and and I wrote over the existing OS of RPi Lite 64Bit.

Once the script has been installed and the pi has been restarted. You have 2 options - 1 is delete the Z2M container or 2 - someday in the future if the need arises you can configure Z2M. 😇

You are absolutely right and you can use Casa OS to do a lot more .. Here I restricted to purely as a Smart Home Hub. BTW I am looking to do a video with Casa OS and all the possibilities it could bring to a Smart Home

How do you do automation stuff from a certain point in time? For example, I have some ikea blinds, I want to "open/close" when the sun goes up and down. I want to share my "Home" with my kids, but I don't want them to see the blinds in "Home". How is that possible?

Well you can set a time based automation to open / close your blinds. Right now - your kids can only have control over the devices. Apple home doesn't allow to hide devices for specific users. Hopefully someday that feature comes to life.

Hey - firstly this is an awesome video so thank you. I'm getting a pile of errors on the MQTT log file. Not sure where I should start to fix these? So following the instructions, I get stuck with the MQTT container starting but not reachable in MQTT Explorer. The container's logs show "Error: Unable to open config file /mosquitto/config/mosquitto.conf. ". Creating an empty config file manually allows MQTT to start but the logs show "Starting in local only mode. Connections will only be possible from clients running on this machine. " and MQTT Explorer still can't see the server. Any idea where I went wrong? Using a Pi4 and a Sonoff 3.0 Dongle Plus.

Please stop the MQTT container and can you ssh into the server and check with the below commands if the file is available - mosquitto.conf cd /home/pi/mosquitto/config/ ls If you dont see the file - please run the below command - sudo wget raw.githubusercontent.com/EddieDSuza/maxilife/main/mosquitto.conf -P /home/pi/mosquitto/config/

@@EddiedSuZa Hi, im having the same problem, I did the steps above and the file does exist, it returns: mosquitto.conf mosquitto.conf.1 mosquitto.conf.2, i did ran your sudo wget command 2 times since it isn't solving the problem. The MQTT container logs are still showing: Error: Unable to open config file /mosquitto/config/mosquitto.conf. MQTT explorer can't connect to mqtt.

I liked the video, much simpler way of installation, unfortunately the z2m did not work, the same device that appears in the ttyACM0 terminal appears in the container. There was a 400 error in the container and I couldn't access z2m via ip address, I don't know where I'm wrong

You'll need to update the value of your zigbee dongle both in the configuration.yaml as well as portioner.

@@EddiedSuZa I entered the values (ttyACM0) are the same in both portainer and .yaml, it appears exactly the same as shown in the video, I will try more calmly tomorrow. I'll be giving updates around here.
