Just imagine if Lukey applied the same level of criticism to his matey Leo Cullen than he does to Rassie and Nienaber, double World Cup champs. Leinster = Ginormous resources, 0 Trophies, yet Cullen gets 0 scrutiny from this podcast.

Well… not surprising for someone to think Rassie is overblown as a coach if that person’s interest in rugby is limited to only the team you support, with a bit of 6 nations info thrown in to make sure you don’t sound like a complete idiot. Very northern hemisphere centric. Rugby pundits by definition should at the very least research their subject before they open their clueless mouths. Dunning-Kruger effect comes to mind. He doesn’t know enough to realise that he doesn’t know enough.

Oof. You guys are getting a lot of stick from my fellow South Africans. But, to counter all of them, I think the dude is ... Right 🤯 I don't think Rassie is not the RUGBY genius everybody makes him out to be. Yes, he surounded himself with technicial masters like Nienaber, Jones, Stick, Human, Proudfoot, Brown and others to work out the finer details. Rassie though, he is something else entirely. Something bigger and ultimately, way way more dangerous. Rassie is, I believe, the best mananager I've ever seen in sport. He knows how to het the most out of his charges. You can't go from #6 in the world to #1 in the world in one year by teaching a group of players new techniques and plays, but you CAN reach that level by instilling a sense of self belief. Rassie Erasmus knows how to rile up his troops. He knows what training and motivation they need. He knows how to make every single person on the team feel valued. He knows how to give them a voice and he knows how to listen to them. I don't think Rassie knows more about rugby than Eddie Jones, Ian Foster, Michael Cheika, Andy Farrell or Steve Borthwick. But I think Rassie knows and understands people better. So given the above, Im going to go ahead and agree with the pundit.

SA did not win a WC for 12 years between 1995 to 2007 Then only one 2 more 12 years after that Granted the Boks are always blessed with talent but it’s not fore gone conclusion that they win every World Cup No coach would’ve been able to do what RASSIE did
