In this video, we build a header for the Rat Rod Wagon (for the second time). It may be restrictive, but at least it sounds a lot better!

Isaac it'll be fine I want to thank you for your help this weekend. While replacing a fuel pump on my truck and questioning myself, I heard you "It'll be fine". Turns out...it was fine.

take a yellow tire crayon, start at about 29" from the flange and make a line real thick all the way to the end. pick the rear tires off the ground and run the motor wide open for a little while....you will see the tire crayon burn off at the place you need to cut the pipe off. that will tune the pipe. put a gasket at the flange, and make a bracket to hold the pipe at the bottom to keep it from breaking off later. i really enjoy watching your videos. the rad rod wagon is awesome.

+CarsandCameras what about a lifan 125cc 4 stroke semi auto? they're less than $300. not going to be as gnarly as a 125cc 2 stroke, but it would work. they make big bore kits too.

I have a 1985 490 yz I will give to you guys if you make a sick ass go cart with it ..no shit the motor was rebuilt 2 years a go and the guy I got it from the first time he road it loop over on him and the rest is history the rear end of the bikes fram is hamburger but the suspetion shock is good the fork are good I was going to put it in a sand rail but I had a heart attack and.....well you would have to take all of it what's left the bars ,tank,seat,fenders,air box gone.. I have ran it the carb is there and very clean the pipe has a lot of crack the silencer is FMF CDI is good has great spark I had all the paper work on it I know what you are thinking it's not hot .it is a beast of a motor trust me .... FREE to you I just want to see it go before I die

Fun video, as usual. Saw something on MCM that made me think of you guys. They came up with some gas-powered trike-cart that someone slipped PCV pipe over the rear tires (5"? 6"?). It turned it into the ultimate donut/drift machine. Rat rod wagon needs this!

Yes, make the exhaust turn out in front of the rear tire. Maybe make a slotted heat shield like the old-school side pipes used to have.

Sweet pipe mayn! I have to say it looks like one of the best headers ive seen you guys build, how it curves round the tank and also how well you tidied up the welds between pipes. Idk if this applies to briggs, but on my DRZ 250 I noticed the more restrictive the exhaust tip was the more speed, but being so restrictive it wasn't that responsive in she olden throttle, and it lacked power in the low end/ take off. It has something to do with the amount of back pressure the exhaust has which times the exhaust valve. I ain't a motorcycle mechanic ( yet) but thats what my mechanic said so ya. Can't wait for the build off. RIP Jeb...

That's kinda the point though.. The true essence of a rat rod build is a "poor man's build". You use whatever you have laying around. Those pipes were too perfect not to use and the header matches the kart very well.

You guys have some really great vids!! Just have a suggestion for your throttle. Thumb throttles off of ATV's are probably the perfect solution for the problem. Also if you didnt want to get too technical you could just put a simple scrub brake on one of the back tires, Old school style. Keep up the good work dudes.

I would love to see you guys build a kart from the ground up. Maybe with like a body that you would sit inside, but i guess you would need a pretty big engine for that. Cant wait for your next video.

+CarsandCameras that would have been absolutely amazingly awesome if it made smoke rings, even better would be rings of fire. if you tilted the tip of the exhaust pointing out and up you could add a fuel dipper to the pipe and fit a sparkplug to the exhaust and have a flamethrower. I'm sure Isaac would know how to set it all up fairly quickly. then it can be your exhaust 2.5 video

Guys I have a Streaker single seat kart that I rebuilt for my 4 year old nephew, I put a Honda GX 200 on it and it's scary fast, any ideas on governring it down to about 7-8 mph?

It need a cover over the exhaust like the ones that corvettes and cobras have on their side pipes and BTW I still think it needs a little keg for a gas tank in the back even if it is for looks only

I know of the seat you should use, its the seat pan from the rolling work seat at harbor freight tools. The green one (paint it) and you can mount it easily with a little cutting, grinding & welding!!!! Only place I know to get one today!

That actually is a balanced engine now (straight pipe & no air filter) You always want a little bit of back pressure if the internals are still in stock form in order to keep that torque. The reduction in diameter of the pipe is currently fine. Once you modify the internals then you gotta consider making a bigger header/pipe.

I was thinking for a throttle, you could use an old boat throttle mounted on the outside and on the left side ( or if there's another way to switch it around so the cable goes forward). For that rat rod look, put on an 8 ball or skull shift knob.

if i were u id get some bicycle pedals and weld on as stirrups or something to put ur legs on like coming off near the front axle so ur almost straddling the engine and find an old tractor seat like a lawn tractor seat and mount it on in there thats look sweet pure rat rod wagon in my mind

just wanted to say love this channel but I wanted to say that the biggest cheapest way to help performance on 212 or 5 hp brigs is to us a Chinese 50cc 70 cc or 110 cc 18mm round slide carb bolts right on and makes a huge huge difference

you could put a bend at the end of the pipe but you could also simply cut an angle on the end of the exhaust pipe and that would make it look a little cooler.

should use a brake of a push bike with disk brakes could double up the callipers if needs be and run them on the rear sprocket. should also do a swept forward venturi for on top of the carb

Hey, man! mustie1 used an aluminum baseball bat as an exhaust "Stinger" . maybe you have an old one, it would make it sound badass and might even blow smoke rings. "It'll be fine."
