We were in for a surprise on a Sunday evening when some residents called after spotting two snakes. This is the first time I have witnessed this spectacle. These are two large rat snakes fighting for dominance. Fighting is fast and often looks pretty violent as you can see. Snake mating is very slow and gentle. The male and female snakes entwine around each other and gently roll around unlike what is seen here, where one is trying to pin the other one down.
