Exactly. Yong missed out on that aspect of the armor collecting. If you check the armor tab on the overview of Ratchet/Rivet, you'll see the active status boosts, with or without the armor equiped.

I recently played through to and got the platnium and I never noticed that and kept changing armor around thinking for what ever I doing so I don't blame him

R&C was the first game series I really got into and it's so hard not to go out and spend way too much money on a ps5 exclusively to play this game lol. How is it nostalgic, exactly, this game is built on massive retcons, redesigns, changes in writing philosophy, and it's a successor to the reboot. It is ratchet in name alone.

This game is a direct sequel to "into the nexus" while the reboot is supposed to just be captain quark's insane fan fiction. Idk if it was supposed to reboot the series and they chickened out or if that is what they had planned, but this is continuing the original series.

that would be so awesome. The first three games are a blast to this day, with an Open World that may seem barebones compared to modern open worlds with random encounters and side content everywhere, but I think it helped make the game world feel alive to see that you're actually fighting over a big city, with districts that you could easily recognize. I also love how each game was not only a jump & run, but added something to the mix. The Sandshark remains my favorite vehicle of all time. Also the mission variety in these games is insane. Okay, sometimes you got the same type of mission again, but harder than before. However it never happened more than once and even when it happened, it was somehow tweaked so it wouldn't be the same as before. Even "Lost Frontier" was a somewhat cool game with the flight mechanics, but unfortunately the jump & run parts were a letdown because all enemies were bulletsponges and had a very unsatisfying hit feedback, so the game fell short compared to the other entries. A revival of the Franchise would be amazing, I'd be all in for that.

The way to never get burnt pre-ordering is making up your own damned mind about video games. I pre-order quite a bit, but I haven't been burnt by that. Because I order games based on how I feel about it, not what Internet hype is about. And my general rule of thumb, the more a game's hyped to beyond reasonable expectations, the more it's gonna suck. And I was right a lot of times. Set your own expectations of games, and you'll never be disappointed. Also, it pays to never set your expectations above 5/10.

R&C hails from a time where there’s only the one release, and that’s it. Glad that it really hasn’t changed.

I dont think we'll ever reach pixar level for video games Its simply because as technology Pre rendering a feature film and having only one angle to perfect over time with VERY expensive computers. Will always look better than a game rendered in real time at 60fps on a $500 game console

Even though Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart looks good, it's still not enough for me to purchase a PS5 or at least the current PS5. Once Sony redesign the system and when this game is cheaper, l may get it. Btw, this game does show off the capability off the PS5 SSD which is slightly faster than the Series X but not overwhelming impressive to me. Definitely much better than Returnal.

This game seems to be a completely different deal than Cyberpunk, considering that it's a AAA flagship title for the PS5 and a game in the Ratchet and Clank series, so I wouldn't pull out the big guns out on him for a review of something like this. A good move is to actually be on the lookout for all reviews, not just Yong's, because pretty much almost every reviewer just before the launch of Cyberpunk messed up, was lied to by CDPR and had certain restrictions and embargos that didn't let them showcase the game properly until it launched.
