This is one of the most graphically intense games I have to ever seen, it's beautiful. Most PS5 games can be said the same, but it's the bright, vibrant colours and textures that puts it on top.

This game is 90% of the reason I want to get a PlayStation five.

I finally got my PS5 just 4 days ago and have since platinumed Miles Morales and I’m currently in the beginning parts of Rift Apart. I’m LOVING it so much!!!

When "I wanted to play more, make the thing longer" is the toughest criticism you can throw at a piece of art, you know you've made something special. I honestly look for that to come up in a review of anything, because it's my guiding star towards great stuff. I remember reading in high school how Tolkien noted that it was the most consistent criticism he heard from fans of LOTR, and that's stuck with me ever since.

Remember: The collectibles in R&C are _Gold_ Bolts, not _Golden_ Bolts! They're two legally distinct phrases! (Don't get me sued) Jokes aside, it's great to hear that you enjoyed the game as much as you did! I was in the same boat, even after 100%ing it, I went back for another Challenge Mode run immediately just to play a bit more.

I just got my PS5 today and immediately started it! Absolutely mad that a game has absolutely no loading screens while looking so fucking good.

My favorite character in the game is Invader Zim. It was amazing seeing him have a redemption arc that gripping while still retaining his destructive self. Owning a arena is such a perfect step for him!

I get the feeling that they put more focus on the story and characters than expansive gameplay for this particular game because it all works as setup for future games. Not only are more Ratchet and Clank games always an option, but now we have Rivet and Kit for their own games in their own unique universe with a vastly different cast of characters and possible scenarios.

I don’t always go the completionist route, but with this game I made an exception, because it was so much fun.

This game was the sole reason I bought a ps5 in the first , and it was most definitely worth the hype , can't wait to see what insomniac has next for the franchise .

This was actually one of the easiest platinum to get. I'd recommend everyone who play this to platinum, I just wish that there were more trophies tied to challenge mode, it is a also sad that challenge mode is the least repayable (As you already unlock all weapon forms)

As soon I got Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart on the day of release I spent two straight days fully completing (Ratchet is one of the few franchises I'd willingly complete)

People complain about the game’s length, but I think it’s perfect. Most Ratchet & Clank games are meant to be played twice in challenge mode. Such a fun platinum for me, never once became tedious.

Rift apart is the biggest reason I want a PS5 so badly! Even more so hearing that the bouncer (one of my all time favorite weapons in the franchise) is back!

Ratchet and clank 2 was my first game on the ps2 and now ratchet and clank start my journey on the ps5.

It’s great to see Ratchet & Clank still going strong while it’s contemporaries Jak and Daxter and Sly Cooper have fallen by the wayside

Also Zurkon Jnr in this game when Ratchet or Rivet buys a weapon or an upgrade, is hilarious. I laughed multiple times, whenever I watched the previews of the different weapons.

And it's been a few years since the PlayStation 5 who remembers the curse of the shortage and scrappers!

I completed it, and in my second playthrough, since I wasn't looking for golden bolts, spybots, or raratanium for the most part since I knew I needed to wait until I re-collected the map-o-matic to save myself a headache, I blasted through the game's "challenge mode" in one sitting.

This game was fantastic. During my play through I thought the game kept getting better and better all the way through to the end. Twice. (NG+)

Miles Morales and Returnal definitely did a few nice things to let people enjoy the PS5, but Rift Apart definitely is the first game that did a fantastic job in showcasing the power of next gen. Definitely enjoyed my time with it when it came out and definitely deserves to be completed.

This game was amazing, and I'm looking forward to the review. First few minutes were VERY heavily spoilery with talking about Kit and Rivet as the "Dimensional" alternates, and Kit's backstory (before the spoiler note). May want to be more careful in the future for BRAND new games in case people use this for a review.

I just got my PS5 a few days ago and so far, from the setup experience, new UI and the Dual Sense, to playing Astro's Playroom and now Rift Apart (my first ever Ratched game and just TONS of fun), it is much more of a "Next-Gen" experience than the Series X, which was pretty much like: "Umm, yeah, it's another Xbox, everything is still pretty much the same, only there are no loading times now. Have fun" I only wish the PS5 was smaller, quieter (Microsoft really nailed that part, the Series X is pretty much inaudible) and less ugly lol. Basically, the slim version can't arrive fast enough. Sorry, I know this is mostly unrelated to the game, I just wanted to express my thoughts somewhere 😅

There is actually a story that can come from this for Rivet and Kit. Emperor Nef was winning all those times and now that he has tasted defeat he's going to be hell bent on getting revenge on them. Cool title would be "Rivet and Kit - The Emperor Strikes Back"

Challenge mode is alot more of a challenge, without turning the cheats on! The game is outstanding it really is. Got the Platinum, and happy to play it over again.

I don’t think there’s much of any extras, more modes or more unlocks. I think they shipped as much as they were able to develop in time. I don’t think they have been sitting on a finished game for a while. So much polish, the devs were basically working right up to launch date pretty much. You can tell this by the ray tracing improvements from the first patch compared to without. I wonder if they are going to add DLC though? That would be coo!

This is my game of the year so far, and definitely my favorite Ratchet and Clank game.

I have a weird relationship with this game. On one hand, I recognize how well it is made in pretty much every regard. But on the other hand... Astro's playroom actually left more impression on me than R&C. And I chose that game to underline that it's not just the children cartoon aesthetic and story beats that I have a problem with. True, I don't really find this game's story stimulating enough for me, but I've played a lot of games with worse stories (Like Tomb Raider for example). I just can't put a finger onto why I'm fine playing Ratchet and Clank games once... and then never get excited for a sequel or want to play it again.

Rift Apart = Best PS5 game and Best Game of 2021

This was my first platinum on the PS5 and every second was definitely worth it.

Sooner or Later I'll have my very own Physical Edition PS5 console and a copy of R&C: Rift Apart by this year's Christmas. I'm really surprised and glad you played and completed the game Jirard, next time for Ratchet & Clank complete "Up Your Arsenal"

People in 2007 said ratchet tools of destruction looked like a Pixar movie but rift apart truly does!

Oh boy, i really loved rift apart. I played through it, i plan to play through it many times again. But here are my 2 Cents: I expected a good game, and oh boy a good game i got. It will not be my alltime favourite, that will be reserved for Ratchet and Clank 3. I think overall you just had more stuff to do, more planets to explore, more diverse Weapons, a better Arena, Galactic Showdowns etc. (I have a Playthrough were i am at my 30th cycle, so thats that!) Difficulty: IDK about you, but playing on Resistance Leader, and later on the hardest difficulty is a real challenge when you can only soak up like 4 or 5 Hits before falling over. It isnt helped with how many enemies there can be at times and how busy and fast paced combat is. Especially some of the Arena Battles are difficult to the point of frustration. But usually it was enough to just lvl up the requiered weapon and dumping some more raretanium to boost stats. I am really missing a fullbody shield in this game as there was in RaC 3, as it can help you get some tension of your back when maxing out your Bolt Lvl, and the shield weapon, as neat as it is as a concept, has not filled in that rift (hehe) as i wanted it to. In the end, i really liked this game and i am definitely going to play even more (i completed the game in 3 Days with about 20 to 25 Hours Playtime, having collected everything), but i have to agree that the game never really picked up and the szory was a bit rushed? Idk if that makes sense. The story was just "Find this, build this, oh nice you build it, Major Bad Guy returnes, steals it, ,you have to retrieve it, beat bad guy fin. I think there was some potential to have more planets, and especially more substeps to develop the relationship with everybody. But i digress, the story was really good and i love the new characters they brought in. I especially loved kit, as even tho i am not a deadly robot, i can relate to what she's going through, maybe get on my heroic redemption arc ;) Nevertheless, this game is an easy 8,5/10 for me, with all my negatives being that i wanted MORE to do, so that is a really good thing. I am looking forward to seeing what insomniac will do in the future.

The main reason I got my PS3 almost ten years ago was because I wanted to experience the next installments of the Ratchet & Clank series at the time, notably Tools of Destruction and A Crack in Time. That reason rings true with me wanting a PS5 for Rift Apart. On top of the Ratchet and Clank series, my PS3 was a gateway for a multitude of games that gave me a better experience as a gamer outside of mostly platformers coming from the PS2 and Nintendo Wii, during my childhood and teen years. The Completionist helped influence what games to put on my shelf up to this day, some of which have been covered on this channel to some capacity. Rift Apart is no exception. I am looking forward to the day I can get my hands on this game and the elusive PS5.

Now we just need The Completionist to complete the other ratchet and clank games!!

Phantom dash is the best addition to this game, much better than the long jump with the thruster/helipack. Phantom dash is faster, can be used in midair and has invincibility frames. The helmet disappearing during cutscenes is also appreciated. I do wish the hoverboots had more use like in Crack in Time. They feel awesome to boost around but maybe adding bounce pads and the bolt crank direction changers would’ve helped.

I just finally bought this game, I was resisting it for a while bc I’m not super into platformers and I thought this was that. This game is theeeee best loooking game on PS5 by FAR. It looks better than Horizon, Ghost of Tsushima, Elden Ring, Spider-Man, etc etc etc.. it is nothing short of amazing how crisp and polished this game looks in performance RT mode on my 4K tv. And the game is so fun and has such a well written story. I’m obsessed!
