Yes we are aware the Parking brake didn’t disengage due to not having my seatbelt on. We were in a closed off lot and didn’t have intents to actually drive so it slipped or mind. Unfortunately that was our mess up. We apologize but if you’re wondering how to disengage it you’d need your seatbelt on! Thanks for understanding!

Auto disengage is part of every electric parking break whether it be an Audi or a ford

I used to pull up to gates put parking brake on the jump out and have to put seatbelt on just to drive through gates,was annoying til I read you can disengage it without having seat belt on by simply applying foot brake and put clutch in and pushing down on parking brake button,up is for engaging it..sorted .it works fine .

you just release the brake and accelerate when you put yourself in reverse or drive. just drive it normally

Or you use an ODBIi tool such as VCDS to disable the seatbelt check. It makes it easier when shunting the car around on your drive and I don't need a nag system anyway.

To get your passenger side mirror to dip when reversing: put car in reverse, adjust the mirror with the control to the angle you like, leave the switch selected on the passenger mirror. When you put the car back in D, it will tilt back to how it was.

nice, i thought that was implemented on newer models, i have an 8V too. Audi lent me a 2022 A4 when i dropped my Sline off for some maintenance, the A4’s passenger mirror dips when i reversed and it went back to normal when i put it in drive. i was thinking that it was smart and was like “why they didn’t put it in my car?!?” update: mine does it, automatically dips the passenger mirror but it doesn’t go back to normal until i put the dial back to centre. i wouldn’t want to keep flipping the dial every time i reverse to get it to dip though, be using the dial too much - don’t want to wear it out & brake it. the feature may be on a newer mmi update though i would assume.

Here's one you might not know? Deactivate keyless entry by pressing the lock button on the key, then straight after press the lock sensor on the door handle. The the little red light will blink several times if you've done it right and keyless entry will reactivate next time you hit unlock with the key. It prevents thieves who use the signal interception method.

Launch control prerequisites (or it won’t work): 1. Transmission must be warm 2. Steering wheel must not be turned even the slightest 3. Traction control off 4. Auto Start /Stop off 5. You have 5 seconds after beginning the rev to release the brake or else it will time out and you’ll have to start over. If any of those are not done the car will engage the clutch and squat when your feet are on the brake and throttle at the same time. 5 years with a 2017 S3

What might surprise you is that some of the features have been around a while. The windows up/down via the key in the door was on my '98 Audi A4. I used it all the time in the summer, even in reverse, when getting out of the car. Try some of these on other Audi models. I'll bet the windshield wiper service mode is on older models, too.

Nice video. Thanks for taking the time to make it. I went from a 2015 S3 (bumped up to Stage 2+) to a 2018 RS3 (Stage 1+ currently). Absolutely loved the S3 but the RS3 just has that much much more. Wanted to mention that the headlight washers are primarily used for winter driving when your front end is covered with snow and slush. Also, you would normally used the washers as the car is moving so the spray doesn't shoot up over your hood. Try it at 45 mph and you'll see what I mean. Washers are fairly standard in Europe. Not sure why exactly. I was stationed in Germany for 15 years and most of my cars there had headlight washers. Rear fog light is an awesome must use feature in heavy rain, fog, or snow. Makes a huge difference. I want to be seen! Very useful feature.
@RatchetWrenches

Thank you! And gotcha yeah I rarely ever use it but I’ll try it when driving, yeah I heard that it isn’t as common here in the states compared to Germany and other countries! How’d you like the stage 2 on the s3? That’s going to be my next step

Also your headlight washers will automatically activate if your lights are on, so if you leave it in auto when it gets dark and the lights come on, you’ll find your headlight washers will come on but only once every 5 or so washes

Not on european versions, the damn thing looks like it's always on when the windshield washer was starts. Funny thing to turn headlights off at night on motorway to make it stop like some moron suggested someplace on the internets.

Excellent tips. The wiper thing is not just for servicing if you live someplace where you get sleet or snow and you have to leave your car outside you can put it in that position and then lift them off the windshield so they won’t be frozen onto your windshield. And I could see using the headlight washer if you’ve been driving around where there’s any kind of dirt or mud or some thing and now it’s night and you realize you don’t have nearly the illumination you should have. 👍

Usually in order for me to disengage the handbrakes, I'd have to press the foot break and then the handbrake. Another feature is; if you open the driver side of the door when the vehicle is in motion, It'll stop automatically by engaging the handbrake. Haven't tried any other door since it is just me. As for the wipers, I usually move them physically with my hand and move them forward. That works seamlessly. I'm aware of the other tips through playing around on my own lol. I usually use sports mode for that boost at times and also when overtaking. Drive in D and then shift to S and you'll overtake faster. You should show them how to shift to M (manual) mode as well. That is something i discovered on my own as well. When in D, simply shift the gear to the side and it'll go in M. Here you can shift up or down to go in a higher or lower gear. Of course there's voice command and cruise control and the paddle shifts you can shed some light on in the next video.

On European models, pressing and holding the lock button on the key fob will close all windows and roof. The rear fog light is to be used in Europe only with a visibility less than 150 ft. The spray jets are set to spray the window while driving. If you think they spray to high, use a sewing needle to adjust the jets.

When it is really cold, putting the windscreen blades to change position works well . I picked that in the French Alps over night. The screen headlight washer is useful in summer when hot, but evenings with bugs. Obviously we use good washer fluid in Romania Hot in summer, deep snow in Winter. We use two types depending on weather and seasons. Tyres are very expensive in Romania, but I am in UK mostly. parts, servicing etc are cheaper there

Those headlights washers are great and are mainly used on Europeans roads where salt and gunk from the winters road that reduces the headlights intensity at night. Fogs lights in Europe are necessary due to many foggy conditions during winter months and they are very very bright here - safety. Sometimes it's too bright when idiots put them on in rain.

Rear fog lights are pretty common, if not standard even in cheaper economic cars. They help a lot to be visible with the spray/mist clouds on a busy highway when it rains. Always remember - lights aren't always about you seeing, but being able to be seen by others (which is why people who don't turn on their lights at dusk triggers the hell out of me).

Thats the reason, why you have headlight washer and it is very good feature on every car, you would see the difference between non washable headlights and yours, when they're dirty, in europe it's required, when you have xenon..🤓🙈But, very good video!☺️PS: Sorry for my grammar..

For switching into sports mode and stuff if you move the gear shifter to drive then pull it back one time it automatically puts it in sports mode instead of using that star button on the steering wheel so you can use it for other things and you don’t have to press the drive select button
@Vinny_Capatony
@Vinny_Capatony Жыл бұрын
It only works for putting your engine and trans in sport that way. In order for your suspension to do it too you still need to select it from drive select or arose you’ll be sporting about on comfort 😂

these features definitely work on the higher spec cars as you mentioned i have the basic se version which means standard version so your basic ew, c/l, ac are the normal not even cruise control was offered Audi is so greedy when it comes to standard list of features but i have heated mirrors who would have thought oh those headlight sprays are not for cleaning its for snow or ice as led or xenon don't heat up like a halogen bulb so that's there for that
@RatchetWrenches

I believe this is 16 or older. But I could be wrong. For the headlight washers, turn the headlight knob all the way to the right then pull the windshield washer lever. The knob is on the left side, below the steering wheel.

I have a 19 a3 premium plus and I would like to know how’d you engaged the headlight washers? I think that is cool as hell and want to try it myself lol
@RatchetWrenches
@RatchetWrenches Жыл бұрын
It’s actually pretty simple you have to turn the headlights on (can’t be on AUTO headlights) has to actually be switched on then pull the washer stalk as if you were gonna spray the windshield and if you hold it there it’ll engage the headlight washers as well! If this doesn’t work or makes sense there’s plenty of videos on how to get them to work!

@RatchetWrenches 2 жыл бұрын
One of the best cars right! And yeah the headlight washers will only activate if you have your light switch set to “on” not “auto” and then you pull back on the wiper stalk to have it clean the windshield and while it does that it’ll clean your headlights if the car is equipped with the feature! Thanks for watching 👍🏽

So you have to turn the headlight switch to “on” can’t be on the “auto” position and then you have to activate your washer fluid for the wipers and it’ll activate the headlight washers as well if they’re equipped!

You’ll love it! You’re right though it constantly just has another surprise around the corner hahah. But unfortunately owning an Audi is pricey. I wouldn’t know the exact prices since I do the work on my own but when I worked for VW which is basically the same car for a regular 15k service you’ll look at around $500-600 or so. But it all depends really

Maintenance costs? Yea pretty high. Just do your homework in researching Audi service station. I got a quote to replace the low/high beam HID Xenon bulbs and they quote me....390 USD. Two hours labor was in the estimate. Checked it myself and looks super easy to do. Online using the bulb information, I found the exact bulbs/mfgr for 25 each. 100% gouge IMHO, citing the over-used terms "supply chain issues" and higher costs.

Rear fog lights are NOT a gimmick for random driving around... Only use when it actually FOGGY. They are super annoying and blinding in city traffic when you're stuck behind some idiot who has them on for no reason. Super handy when it's actually foggy though, so they have their time and place. Fun fact, using the when there's no fog is actually illegal in Germany.
