Tablet and TV is the way to go for scoring. Gives you and others watching the match a great view to follow along. Side note. If you guys keep giving out nit picky scores. Future venues might not allow you in. These are pubs and sports bars after all. Not PDC tournaments and stages. Remember your audience here is the common darts player not pro player. So maybe when you’re saying well this music is on or the oche isn’t wide enough or this wire is in the way. Just deal with it like the common darts player would have to and don’t drop a score so far down because of it.

For a walk-in, you need a whiteboard marker at least.

I suffer with Dyscalculia, so having an electronic scoreboard is a must. A chalk/wipe board would be the least a venue should provide, and it would completely ruin my experience if they had neither. Agree 100% with what Matt said about the width of the oche, and the placement of it. That would definitely do my nut in! 😂 I'm not too bothered about noise when it comes to a bit of practice or a muck about with mates, but agree about sound levels if playing a league, county or cup game. Another great episode though chaps. Keep em coming 👍

I'm a 2 min drive away from this venue, gutted to have missed you guys as had a feeling you would make an apperance. I did feel that some of the scores were very harsh especially when you have electronic scorers there.

Great fun guys keep the episodes coming! I would have gone higher on the house darts because the owner is trying to deal with theft and still provide sets but I understand your score nonetheless!

I have a recommendation of somewhere to go! The Ship Inn at Dalkeith. A great pub that runs weekly ADC events (and other darts comps). It has 2 boards in the bar and 3 boards in a building out the back from the pub. Michael and Emma who run the pub are lovely too. I travel just over 50 miles to play in the ADC Vaults there with a couple of mates (and my wife even comes with us). I thoroughly recommend the Ship Inn as a darting venue.

For measurements, if the board height was low and you are taking the hypotenuse to then measure the length. If the length appears spot on is it not in fact too long because the height is too low?

As far as scoreboards go. Marking on a blackboard or a whiteboard is a fundamental part in the development of players. I think they can be the most important part of young or new players’ development. So I’m 100% with Andy with regards to electronic scoreboards.

I play adc, which is perfect for tablets. Generally, higher standard players track your average ect and games on a round Robin, perfect for that. I also play local leagues where I feel it should be chalk or board only it learns people to count, work out for yourself, finishes, checkouts, etc. Darts is a lot easier if you can count. Marking helps so much with that

If you view the board from the 10:00ish the oche seems much more on center than your original statement. The strap on the ceiling seems centered on the board and through the oche. IMHO

If theres only 2 people having a game (including me) then id rather use electronic as its faster, if theres a 3rd or more players then whiteboard so the people who are playing don't have to keep stopping to write scores etc.

what is happening is you are putting the audio in stereo and most of our devices only have one speaker so you can hear one mic super loud and the other you can bearly hear fix it or i will give you a 2.

Why not drop the scoring system altogether and just focus on showcasing all the great places there are to play darts (warts and all). Where I live there are not that many choices any more and as @BrianNichols180 points out, if you keep giving harsh scores, where's the incentive to let you visit?

This is just getting ridiculous. At times you can see Matt just thinking what the hell is this guy on about? Andy is the most unlikeable person I have ever seen on KZfaq and that's quite a statement. Been watching the whole series and first time commenting. I'm sick of it. Matthew is an absolute expert and should get someone else and this could be way better.
