We're back again to talk about the decline of For Honor's lore and what needs to be done to fix it. Today we talk about one of the crucial problems: Using the Order of Horkos as a crutch for the writing team. This line of writing abandons the nuance and creativity of the games original primase for the sake of childish and spoon fed morality so juvenile that even middle school children would seek something more substantial. If we want to see the lore improve, something has to be done about Horkos.

How cool would it be if we found out the reason this Aztec hero keeps talking to himself and laughing in that cage is because he’s so excited that he has all these new sacrifices for his God? I know the reason why they do it, but I also don’t understand why they thought it was a good idea to start having “good” and “bad” characters in this game.

Horkos and chimera could have been a genuine "pick your side" replacement to the faction war. But they went and capped on that idea, in favour of painting Horkos as a bunch of cannibals and freaks, who are always the bad guys, so they could sell some cosmetics. Thinking one season into the future, in typical Ubisoft fashion

This is what I’ve been saying in the Y7S2 livestream, we need a true Apollyon-esque hero or character. One that will reignite the flame of war, not be some OTT overlord bad guy. The Harbingers were kind of like that but they never came across as true Apollyon-like heroes! They were more like secondary villains. Here’s what I think should happen: Four villains from one of each faction bar the Knights. They call themselves, Children of Apollyon! They remember the philosophies of Apollyon and had grown to admire her admiration for War. Yet they realise their factions have forgotten their own cultural ways. The pillaging wolves, the duty bound wolves, the Immortal Wolves and the wolves across the seas! They are wolves but not unique. They play a silly game of good vs evil, when it was never that. And these new heroes will remind them what their culture stands for. honour!

Yeah, I have to agree. I do hope that one season will be caused by Chimera. Also, huh...yeah, that is pretty true. The Faction War haven't really been on the highlight that much. It's like Aestra feel bored with the current war and decide to attack others. I agree with your suggestion with the Horkos being defeated and resume the Faction War as it was with what occur after they defeated Apollyon. I mean, it’s not like they are currently in the writer’s strike since they’re in another country.

Like what Raven said there is sooo many good opportunities for the story. For example what if a portion of Astreas forces rebel from her because they want to spread war not to just make a powerful faction. So they send spies to Chimera to turn them against each other. Also get the Wu Lin to start a conquest into the Myre or anywhere. At the same time get the Houses to fight each other. This could be a season about not being able to trust anyone. This may be a bad example but there is so many opportunities for the story to be good once again

I agree 100% I miss when this game had moral ambiguity and a gritty, real feel. I distinctly remember being appalled by the Viking raiders in the Samurai story despite playing as them hours earlier. You're right, there was nuance, now there isn't. Fact.

Raven thinking about it now I think the reason why the writers maybe want to but really can’t make the story better is because if they did Ubisoft would lose their ESG score which means less funding for the other projects.

The current lore does suffer from the fact that it's too simple and horkos is not only used too much but it's treated way too simply as the bad guys, when for honor isn't simple it was built on nuances on every faction but the devs are trying way too hard to make the story like lord of the rings when it doesn't need to be lord of the rings.

14:31 These first three quotes Are Astrea quotes. I would love for ubi to expand on her more, but these alone give me an understanding of her character and what she might do in a situation. Which is why I say she's not tryin to be Apollyon. Shes lookin at a bigger picture. Apollyon only wanted to influence heathmore, Astrea wants to influence the world. She wants to kick start a new society, a new world. Apollyon never cared for civilization She just wanted to prove a point. Astrea wants to go beyond proving a point. I belive these quotes fully display that. "On the sacred stone of horkos I must now swear. To bear the mask of War with honor and fealty. To walk the path of glory and death without fear. To Shepard the strong and punish the unworthy. I will brandish the blade that writes all wrongs. I will bring revenge, strength, and discipline. I will rise above all and speak the truth. We are all, we are one, We are War!" "What do we fight for? Peace? Peace is a false hope. It is a lie told by leaders who have lost the will to fight...- We will cleanse heathmore from the liars and the wicked. We will start a new era for the truest heroes of this world. Peace is poison." "Venture out into the world, spread the truth! In this you will find glory!" "Various legions joined the order for very different reasons. Yet they all yearned for a world without weaklings or cowards. A new world where they could become... Immortal." Here's what I mean by the order of horkos lookin to shape society itself. It's more than just about fighting eachother with them It's about re-creating the world in their image. Which is why I always stood on the side of Apollyons ideals of War was just a jumping off point. Astrea and the oder of horkos want more than what Apollyon was goin for. Which is why I like the order of horkos so much. "According to the warriors of Horkos, the cause of all evil was weakness. People would be unjust, disloyal and dishonorable only when they did not have the strength to stay true to themselves." (Wolves) "The warriors of Horkos believed that people were not born equal. Some were born to rule, while others were meant to serve. A constant struggle was the only way to keep the strongest at their rightful place." "Life was not a given nor a gift according to the Horkos views. In this troubled world, people had to earn the right to live and fight. The weakest had their part to play too - - in serving the strong."

Apollyon wanted war because it was in humanity's nature and a valuable process for growth and advancement, having experienced that transformation personally Astrea fetishizes the idea of strength and what it can do for people without understanding any deeper concepts than that, which is why she's focused on conquest Apollyon used her strength to inspire and uplift strength in others to make society better through the medium of war, Astrea uses war to subjugate because she is strong and thus should rule, making the world a better place by just having her faction in power, an utterly insipid mindset
@mal1362
@mal1362 Жыл бұрын
@Lazypackmule who did Apollyon inspire and uplift? Her ideals turned half her army and all of heathmore against her. Which inevitably ended in peace finally being achieved. Until Astrea was told by a god to finish where Apollyon left off. Astrea's ideals inspired and rallied half of heathmore to join her cause. And now they wage war and conflict with the warriors of heathmore and different parts of the world. If we are Goin by your reasoning, Apollyon failed where Astrea succeeded.

@@mal1362 Apollyon's actions literally led to the character growth that prompted that push for peace, Holden followed in her footsteps travelling the world and what he experienced allowed him to become the best version of himself Nevermind the fact that Astrea herself is not only literally directly inspired by Apollyon, but also kind of bad for ongoing war in the long term as her goal is to take over, only keeping the war going in one way or another because the writers say so

we have to understand that sadly for honor now is a low budget proyect that ubisoft is trying to keep alive just to exploit the income as much as posible, the best solution would be a for honor 2, but in the near future it seems impossible, hopefully after the launch of assassin's creed mirage and star wars outlaws, two games that i think will give ubisoft a good amount of atention, money and feedback, they will start to think in squels for games like rainbow six and for honor. Being honest, i play for honor since season 3, ive been here all this time, i grew up with this game, i have more than 75 days played, but i stopped playing for two main reasons. 1- This is no longer the for honor i spent weekends playing, it has become something very worse from what was the initial proyect, and 2- Ubisoft didn't even bother on adding crossave, i was rep 225 on Xbox, i changed to pc 1 year ago, and i had to start over again, im sorry but no, i pray for ubisoft to give this game a second try, to gain back that strategic and slow combat style it had at the begining, but for now i will only keep dreaming of what this game could've been, and didn't be.

I kinda wish they had made holden cross/gryphon was the vanguard and leader of the outlanders and he is collecting a team of different cultures to fight the horkos. They could've then added a horkos member to each of the other factions. A warmonger type figure for the viking samurai and the wulin. Because the horkos are just sort of being depicted as "grr bad knights (and occasionally the odd other faction member)" if the horkos had a character that was present in each faction then it would give reason for gryphon and the chimera to have to fight new figures not just astrea all the time. This I feel could cause issue within chimera also as they start to realise that they are fighting all the time. Something they are trying to stop. Could lead to infighting? It could possibly lead to infighting with the outlanders as raven discussed. I agree that the horkos have kinda just become the default bad guys with very little substance. The horkos characters could all maybe explore the corruption in new ways. See how the factions respond to the draconite (?) (Probably would do too many things as it would become corruption spam and wipe teams easily)

I agree with this fully, I do think the actual dismantling of Horkos is unnecessary but I do believe that what once could have been a beautifully written villain is now the product of either the writer being incapable, constantly changing or being forced to use them repeatedly. It screams a lack of direction, hell even the cultures they bring in, they show that they have an understanding of the cultures but refuse to dive into them fully. Why? Most likely out of fear of being cancelled but people can't deny history. Hopefully the Ocelotl provides this, hopefully he is the thorn in horkos' side and brings chimera back into the light. After him I hope they take a break from heroes and focus on gameplay, story and content.

The beautiful about Apollyon was that she wasnt really a "bad guy" but more the physical form of the human desire of conflict. She was impartial, her enemies and allies were more or less the same. The idea of a villian and a good guy being so black and white is what Horkos brought to for honor. Its lazy writing.

Horkos is not as bad as I thought it was initially. I agree they could be written much more better, and ideally they shouldn't be the main antagonist. Hear me out : For Honor is not about the story of common men. It's about the stories of warrior classes, people who derive their power from warfare. Remove war, and you can pretty much remove the factions. Knights Vikings Samurai Wu-Lin have no more reason to exist. The cult of Horkos (the "god of oaths") appearing after the truce of Wyverndale, and calling the peacemakers "hypocrites" is a bit more subtle than it first appear, because when you dig a little, they, well, have a point. The peace-seeking factions were very well on the path of peace between each other, while clinging to a power structure that recquire war to keep them in place. To me, Horkos shouldn't be an "evil empire" ala Star Wars. They are the dark truth behind honor itself, it recquire war to function, so seeking peace is hypocritical.

I do hope that if they do dismantle Horkos they do it in a “dignified” way over the course of a season or 2 rather than just saying something along the lines of: and then they kept killing each other so much and chimera stomped them. Because currently Horkos has been steamrolling. They’ve made many enemies along the way but they are still the dominant force in heathmoore. If they are going to be taken down it needs to be done right.

OK I may not be the Raven knight but you have stable ground in your summary and I don't know enough to judge who you'd be I need more background lore to know if done right this could be one of the best stories the fandom of for honor made but expansion is of lore is required Here's what I'm getting from your explanation and my prejudice Rose thorn legion, most likely started with a knight because..... Well "legion" of course Your saying you're horkos and the fact the leader is a kyoshin tells me your kyoshin may be less spiritual and hermit like but more ambitious and belligerent using powers for personal gain and doesn't mind killing people who surrender because he sees them as weak and is OK with mindless killing as long as it has a meaningful objective making him prime candidate for leader but has standards as he won't be one to infuse his sword with draconite as it makes things easy hence he thinks fighting and dying by flesh and steel is enough rather then being felled by crimson gems and since he's the leader most likely by killing the knight who started the charade or winning the crowd over causing him dethroned he'll definitely enforce that on everyone as his more honorable side and standards also his lack of inner peace will lead to his defection and the legion following suit This is all I could get from your explanation and my prejudice mind of pre judging I hope you give your thoughts and if I'm right or not as your information will be official on this story (I wrote this pooping in the toilet)

I see a way this can be fixed tbh. I'm not a professional writer so tell me if im off here. The current issue is mostly that Horkos = "bIg BaD", so call this a big change but say horkos gets too cocky and attacks Chimera, the attack being led by Astrea. At first say it looks like the Horkos are winning, but then one way or another basically Astrea dies or is captured or something (death would make more sense for leader replacement), forcing Horkos to retreat or die. With their leader out of the picture, several competitors try take the metaphorical or literal throne of Horkos (do they have a throne?) and long story short that breaks up Horkos, while Chimera's distrust for eachother causes similar events there. Basically, not entirely getting rid of Horkos and Chimera but making them more ideologies than actual armies and factions. The factions go back to being knights, vikings, samurai, etc. which obviously creates more conflict and rather poetically means that in the end Astrea did what Apollyon did in that she died but made the factions realise that they werent being productive and that they should never have trusted eachother wholly, causing war. And to make things more interesting, we can finally fix the faction map. Say the vikings lose some ground to the knights and samurai, but the knights and samurai lose said progress on the other front as the wu lin finally do something worthwhile, putting all 4 main factions on the map (in a 25, 25, 25, 25 split obv), while the Outlanders exist more in the lore than the faction war given that none of them have reason to side with any one specific faction, so they go about doing their own thing (which i would imagine is the pirates are being pirates, medjay are still fixing the bracelet's famines and stuff, and the afeera are probably hunting down survivors of the old Horkos, which could lead to a later conflict) The reason i think this would work is it removes the whole unga bunga good bad bs and brings for honor back to, well, for honor. Not to mention it fixes the issue of the faction map still not being updated years later, brings back cause and reason to the war, meaning plot/lore has stuff to work with, and adds to the complexity of the conflict as war is rarely simple, so having 4 main factions all fighting, while smaller groups (examples being Horkos, Chimera, non faction specific mercenaries, etc) make moves that at first seem small but change a lot in the future (for example say the afeera find and kill (insert Horkos member who happens to now be a general somewhere), changing the outcome of a future battle) Anyway, im gonna stop rambling before this becomes an essay length comment, presuming it isnt that already lmao

Heya! Getting upset and annoyed at Horkos like you and others are right now might be the exact thing the narrative wants to achieve. Following the lore since launch I realized that since Year 3 the lore seems to be based around community actions and tries to implement those in upcoming stories. Example 1: Horkos is a covenant that symbolizes all edgy players with their evil characters/loadouts (Not only Apollyon fans). Those who taunt, bully and are all about gritty, dark and over the top violent content. Chimera is for those who enjoy the actual cultural aspects of the factions and want the game to be about more than "just war" and protect and explore the cultural identities. Example 2: At the beginning of Year 6 many people were upset at the Hero Skin myths for going against the established canon history of Heathmoor. Yet some preferred the high fantasy alternatives that were proposed by the Year's narrative and embraced that... And then Year 7 started with exactly this internal lore community conflict. Fanatics, believing in the myths, fighting against an Inquisition who does not allow beliefs that go against their "canon" calling them liars and heretics. The players are the people of Heathmoor. I think our actions and reactions play a big part in forming the narrative. Year 7 is the year of Injustice. Horkos seems to have taken over Heathmoor nearly fully. They should annoy anyone who does not like them. They are likely supposed to look all powerful currently to get some players to hate them. Like you wanting them to suffer a big defeat. One last thing would be that FH's story is not fully based on history but more the modern versions of those cultures. Even canonically we are in the future and not in the present or past. So the factions have evolved. Some things have stayed as they were 1000 years ago and other things have changed drastically (similar to reality). FH mostly is over the top fiction inspired by real cultures and the people who play the game. Just my take on things ^^ (also sorry in case my english grammar sucks at times)

To be honest with you all the way I can see horkos collapsing or crippling is if infighting takes place to the point they challenge astrea there's too many people gaining power in that order some weaker then others some with motives that go from representing apollyon to personal gain or a gold rush of sorts for draconite to consolidate their power and keep their positions preventing any competition knowing horkos and their masquerade event this order was meant to divide after all it doesn't say why they should be strong only that they should meaning agenda could differ for their reasons of rising With chimera I'm guessing they are having more of a diplomatic war and many being untrusting of knights as they are responsible for some of the events leading up to now after all gryphon is one person cannot cater to everyone leading the people he's negotiating with to accuse him of favoritism especially the vikings for if this is gonna work a lot of their customs will be frowned upon on both the knights and samurai since they will be seen as mindless barbarians causing arguments and ties being cut resulting in a internal collapse Horkos always did things radically for the sake of bringing the strong, sparking that flame in our hearts we, ignore willing to kill innocents for the sake of bringing the strong do what's wrong for a more right outcome not everyone will like this as agenda will play a part Chimera seeks to unify the land and get some middle ground for all factions to be fine with but not only does this weaken your power some in chimera want to weaken the other factions they see as infer and all want to be the leader leading to some plotting (and the use of peacekeepers) to take out those you don't like or don't agree resulting in people who hate horkos or potential allies or investments to leave chimera and try to strive on their own This way we can not only see the order but how people representing their respective orders feel resulting in the good vs evil but with a shade of nuance i just wish they focus more on the individual heroes and give more lore on them like how I always wanted to know about conquerors who was the first conqueror, who first implemented the conqueror practise ,how did it become widespread same with berserkers being the reason we have shaman , did lawbringers come to be because some warden committed a schism from wardens order how does the system work if there's a lord warden is there a hierarchy, since they seem so similar in oath ,so many questions I doubt I'll get answers for

8:20 Are you just now realizing how irrelevant Ubisoft has made the Knights, Vikings, Samurai and Wu Lin? It’s been almost 4 years since they’ve been nothing but extensions of the Horkos and Chimera. Edit: great video btw, hopefully it gets Ubisofts head out of the clouds.

I'll be honest, I hate the Chimera and Horkos war. Its just boring to me. Good vs Evil is fine and all, but I just feel it should've been a one season kind of thing. Horkos shows up, Chimera rises to fight them, beats them back. Chimera is the reigning government but is too large to sustain itself and falls apart into the warring factions once again. This would mean we'd need 2 faction map changes, one for the Civil War, and another for the faction war, this would allow the Wu Lin (yes, I forgot they existed too) to hold territory and actually feel like they're participating.

I have no idea why people say Astrea isn't trying to be Apollyon when that was legit part of her damn trailer. The second part too is that beyond hero skins we aren't going to go into the other cultures at all as the only Outlander to have been brought up to be doing things is the Pirates....which is team Horkos(Remember whet hey said they didn't care for the faction war or the Covenents?)

Seems like the writers has taken a cool turn with the new hero teaser , that last part "they think me caged , but they don't know what is coming for them , we will take our revenge" seems like the aztecks are gonna go on a onslaught and tbh they won't give a fuck about what faction are you with , they just want to burn heathmore to the ground just like horkos did to them

Yup sounds good. But also according to the teaser: The Horkos warriors dragged children by the hair to be executed while laughing about it. As if they weren't cartoonishly evil enough. Can I expect them to start kicking puppies and drinking baby blood next?

@@RavenKnightYT I mean , yeah , it was obvious they wanted to make horkos the bad guy (again) , but I still have hope that when the aztecks arrive they will act like the brutal warriors they are supposed to be , I hope to see them hunt down villages , killing and sacrificing the inhabitants just like horkos executed thir kids , that would serve as a good turning point IMO , on one side they are taking revenge , but on the other they are acting like savages , making them clash with heathmore ideology and maybe , just maybe , make them such a threat that both horkos and chimera stop the war in order to attend to a greater problem , this giving a chance to the empire (or any other faction but I'm putting my money on the empire cause we got that hero skin coming next season) to finally make a move , this possibly giving head to that new hero viking entering for honor in order to stop the invasion

Honestly Raven, how I would’ve written year 4 onward is that year 4 would still happen same as normal but the battle of the eclipse would happen at the end of year 5 and I would get rid of asunder as I think it was a waste of time and have the other seasons of year five be moved a season back to have all these climactic changes to make their fighting a more desperate all or nothing battle and as the battle of the eclipse happens I would change it so that Astria actually dies in the battle at Daughtery’s hand as I always felt the lion was never given his courage in an actual story but back to the battle Horkos is shattered They will never act openly again. And so they move in the shadows always making sure the war keeps going as long as they can. Chimera on the other hand would be ascendant but they would disband a month after as the enemy they rallied together for is thought no more. And the faction war will continue without end. Year six stories would still be the same but in shattered fates I would have the Umayyad sultan look into the celestial sphere and see what he recognizes as a knight destroying his great city and in response and sends his Affera to destroy Ashfield with him sending letters to the daimyo and the jarls asking for their aid their letters are intercepted by iron legion scouts with the letters being sent to Daugherty in response in which, he tasks one of his knights ravier to lead an army to the south to deal with the new threat. they enlist the help of some of dobery’s old allies with them they’re able to push back the Afferia and the sultans armies to reach Midena the seat of the sultan’s rule. Ravier sues for the in the sultan’s surrender to end this needless bloodshed, but the Sultan believing his vision will come true, regardless rebuffs forcing the knight to assault the city in which the sultan is killed and the crystal shattered with the glass flowing into the deserts beyond. Ravier would head back to Faronia Victorious but still conflicted if this was the right choice. The Afferia would head to heathmorre as mercenaries for hire. Season seven would would be vastly different as I’m not even sure what to write at this point because so much has changed that I’m not exactly sure what stuff could lead from the last season or at least not right now. So that’s it, I would like your input on my ideas raven

I always prefer when fictional Factions have depth to them. And it really sucks how the writers are fumbling the untapped potential For Honors factions truly hold. I think a good example would probably be Skyrims civil war. Specifically Legion vs Stormcloaks. The Stormcloaks are a Rebellion fighting for their freedom, rights, and most importantly their Religion. Worship of Talos is the heart of their will to fight(i think). But stormcloaks have their Flaws too...Such as **Ahem** Racism... i mean take 1 foot into Windhelm and you'll see what i mean. Meanwhile the Legion represents a dying empire, trying desperately to hold its provinces together. And empire weak enough that a simple rebellion is enough to defeat their better equipped and probably better trained warriors in conventional combat. And while the empire is trying to restore order, theyre also trying to take away Freedom of religion and probably other freedoms too. Also...They support the Thalmor... *Fuck the Thalmor* Point is, Both the empire and stormcloaks have their ups and downs. The empire probably would be a better government over ulfric, but they are probably crumbling apart and in if they win will strip away Skyrims freedoms. Meanwhile the Stormcloaks seem a bit...cultish with their support of Ulfric, and Racism sucks...but as an American, i sympathize with those trying to rebel against an oppressive Empire, that wants to govern what they can and cant do. Both Factions have *Flaws* but also reasons to like them and side with them. ... Another good game that i wish For Honor would take some inspiration from is Fallout NV. As I think this is a better comparison. Ceasars Legion is our Horkos And the NCR is Chimera. On the surface it seems like the NCR are the good guys and Legion are the bad guys, which they are, the legion is definitely evil dont get me wrong. But when you delve between the cracks of both Factions, you see the bad in the NCR and the good in the Legion. The ying in the yang. While the Legion has done quite a bit of evil, literally having an army of slaves that Worships Caesar like he's God. Theyve also unified many regions and peoples under a single banner, and the Legion has brought stability and safety to their territory in a Hostile unforgiving Wasteland. Probably the most stability than any other Fallout Faction. Compare that to Horkos. Currently Horkos are just the mustache twirling badguys doing evil shit. But if we delved deeper into its lore, maybe it would reveal a better side. Farms and peasant towns within Horkos territory enjoy the security of knowing its unlikely theyll be attacked by bandit gangs or lone viking clans, as those gangs and clans most likely got gobble up and assimilated into Horkos. Trading routes are probably guarded by Horkos(with them taking a Tax probably) creating more stability in a pretty hostile Heathmore. Meanwhile the NCR is trying to bring back the ways of the old world. Government, law and order, safety and stability. But along with it theyve brought Corruption, Politics, inaction. Theyre stretched too thin to bring proper safety to the wasteland, politicians are probably payed off to turn a blind eye to Raider activity, they ignore small towns that 'arent worth the time and resources.' Meanwhile Towns that do hold significance probably dont get much say of whether or not they want to join anyway, as the size of the NCR can be intimidating. Comparing that to what Chimera COULD BE. We can have our morally good faction, but remember to show the cracks, the peaks behind the curtain. Maybe Chimera has infighting, their territory isnt as safe, with Bandits being more prevalent and Traders/Towns could get cought in the crossfire of squabbling provinces. With Chimera being significantly less of a Cult then Horkos, their leaders are more susceptible to Bribes, greed, and corruption, wanting personal gains and wealth over whats actually good for Heathmore. Then...A step in the right direction for For Honors story is for Chimera to have its 'Bitter Springs' moment. Have them execute some atrocity, knowingly in the moment or not. Some city gets sacked by Chimera, lots of bodies and blood, can be used as an opportunity to introduce the new hero or hero skin. Then Horkos and Astrea shows up, saying to the survivors: "Look what they've done to you. To your family and your lives, to those you loved. Dont you want *Justice?* dont you want to punish those sheep who wronged you? Those who pretend to be strong with their numbers and resources?" That way Chimera has a moment of looking bad, instead of 'perfect and never does anything wrong' faction. And Horkos has a moment of heroism and its not another 'And heres what Horkos did' moment. Horkos gives the wronged faction the resources and support to launch an offensive into Chimera Territory, tieing the story back In with the Chimera/Horkos war and back on track. Then the story writers would just need to, not de-rail again. The Factions need depth, Flaws and strengths. And the story has to stop being: "heres who Horkos pissed off this week" Or maybe im just a crazy person not seeing the big picture and who pays too much attention to fictional factions.

Additional Comment... The Children of Dyspar (my roster, or at least half of them) were formed because one of them sought a difference. My centurion, Cryxos (a Spartan who became a centurion AKA the leader of the Children of Dyspar) joined Horkos but wanted to start something different. He saw something beyond slaughtering innocents because they were weak, he saw a version of Horkos that spent time building connections instead of starting shit with foreign cultures. I'm gonna make this short, so he basically joined Horkos because he wanted to belong. After some time of being with Horkos, he has seen some crazy dastardly shit that were above his limits. He had to get away from all the bloodshed to start something new, he sought some advice and was introduced with an otherworldly voice. A deity by the name of Dyspar, a dragon demon god or simply the Draexian father. Dyspar advised Cryxos to form a group that is tied with Horkos, but focuses on building rather than fighting. As time went on he recruited a serial killer that became a conquerer (Dymius) a lawbringer that is spiritually tied with Death (Vyndrar), a sylvan highlander (Gryfnar), a frost warlord (Draegyr), a valkyrie spiritually tied with Hel (Hraefdyr), a demon kensei (Mykadro), a shugoki that devours souls (Kyzaro), a soul stealing raider (Tynautr), and an ulfhednar berserker (Kyndrol) So yeah Cryxos recruited some... interesting individuals in the early stages of the group. And it's been pretty chill, they seemed to get along rather quickly. Later on, Cryxos recruited a dragon knight warden that used to be a guardian of Wyverndale (Orvyn), a dark elf orochi (Amatyro), an Egyptian who became a gladiator (Tymayek), a nobushi being controlled by a demon spider (Tyodoru), an aramusha that is mutually bonded with a demon that possessed him (Dymatsurai), a shinobi that fought in the Arabian army (Hytomo), a plague doctor peacekeeper (Astrylla), and a shaman born a viking but raised an aztec (Vyrcuitli). Cryxos was able to form not just a group, but a family of brothers and sisters from different places and different lifestyles because he didn't try to fight or kill any of them. Some warriors of Horkos believed in what Cryxos was doing, they were also getting tired of the endless craziness. The Horkos warriors weren't very high ranked and didn't have much recognition so they didn't raise suspicion joining with Cryxos. Cryxos let them in with open arms and that's when the Shadows of Horkos were formed (the other half of the roster). Consists of a tiandi (Fang Liu), jiang jun (Hahn Zhu), nuxia (Yao Zing), shaolin (Zin Long), zhanhu (Jyn Sun), pirate (Jacklyn), medjay (Kynmatu), afeera (Syfra), gryphon (Xynudr), warmonger (Adelyne), kyoshin (Zynon), Hitokiri (Xiro), Jormungandr (Graednar), and black prior (Vylomier). My guys are still with Horkos but they're gonna be doing things differently, like helping the aztec in the cage escape. If Astrea, Vela, Ravier, or any other Horkos chief has a problem with it they can "talk" with Orvyn, who fought alongside Lord Ramiel against the obsidian horde and the tyrant Dhespar.

I kinda had a similar idea, but they're more self-contained and not really affiliated with the Chimera Vs. Horkos conflict. I came up with this idea during the Web of Jorogumo event. A Shukogi formed a group of Samurai warriors to guard the Myre from various outside threats, calling themselves "The Demon Guard." They model themselves after demons and spirits from Japanese Mythology in order to terrify any Knight or Viking who dare enter their land. They view the conflict between Chimera and Horkos as not worth their attention and prefer to focus solely on protecting the Myre. One of their most persistent enemies is a Hitokiri who claims she is a servant of the Jorogumo, and wants nothing more than to "spin a web of death against those Yokai Slayer Meiko sacrificed herself to protect"

For Honor had such amazing potential to tell an adult, complex, and nuanced story but due to the horrible inbalancing, terrible advertising, and general abuse of the games players they ruined any chance at making something even remotely artistic and ultimatley resorted to cheap, bland, uninteresting cosmetics, effects, heroes and storylines because all they want from for honor is money. For Honor's lore situation is really quite a simple reason for *why* its the way it is, one that most players who have been paying attention to it have known since the beginning of the artifacts seasons: the current devs are not the same ones with the original vision of the game. Horkos and this awful, childish (yes, this idea of Horkos is absolutely childish and I will argue with anyone in the comments who defends the existence of Horkos at this point is just mentally brain damaged) boogeyman thing they have going for them has far outstayed its welcome and is a direct of new developers not understanding a God damn thing about the cultures these warriors are from and rely on their very crude and blatant new age 1st World Western revisionist view of history (I mean come the fuck ON, the new season is literally just Knights bad: Aztec good that only a Western communist could believe in) combined with sheer laziness. These new age For Honor devs do not fundamentally understand the background or culture of the Samurai, the Vikings, or the Knights and they still don't even understand the Outlander heroes they keep adding in as virtue signals to groups of people. What even are the factions doing at this point since NONE of them are doing anything for their people and it's all just a shitty Marvel esque "Thanos and Horkos VS. Gryphon and co" that literally no one likes or asks for. If the original devs saw what became of For Honor they would have shut down the project because the game is literally nothing like what it was envisioned to be? The current game quite frankly an insult to the cultures the warriors hailed from and the current For Honor devs should feel nothing but shame for using those said cultures as a skinsuit for their lazy, 3rd rate writing fan fiction ideas because they fundamentally as people are obviously incapable of understanding fully the virtues these groups have stood for throughout history. If it wasn't for the gameplay being decent most people would have abandoned this game a long time ago, because story wise as well as respect wise to the warriors portrayed in game, this game is absolutely bottom of the barrel and just insulting to people at this point.

Just gonna point out bud, you really need to dial back the venom in your writing tone if you want anyone to engage with you in a conversation. I appreciate how much passion you have for the story, but you aren't going to get anything across calling people retards. @liamodahl1205 If people don't even have the capacity to recognize how insulting For Honor's "lore" is at this point and how it just uses and abuses the cultures and warriors that stem from them originally I have no genuine interest in discussing anything related to the story with them, because they have already proven by accepting the terrible and childish premise of Horkos and Chimera as an idea they aren't worth talking to nor are they worth listening to. These were real groups of people, they bled and died for genuine reasons, they had traditions and societies that have existed for hundreds of years and some literally still exist like the Samurai clans for fuck's sake, and Ubisoft has decided to take those people and use them as a skinsuit for their Knight Nazi boogeyman vs. everyone else that is a Marvel hero fan fiction stories that are akin to children's playbooks in terms of writing. It is insulting because it doesn't even respect the cultures at a basic level and reduces people to preset oppressors and victims where there is no nuance, no culture present, no ideals being fought over, no genuine story from any point of view. It is the living embodiment of 1st world modern Western "literature" circle writing, where all ideas present are just there to being milked until it's not profitable anymore for the average person and they move onto the next thing. It is absolutely an appropriate response to be venomous to a group of writers/developers who have no blatant god damn respect for the warriors and groups of people (they don't even respect the original vision of the game or the people who made it, what makes anyone think they wouldn't bastardise the hell out of the people who they literally have never met from history?) that *THE ENTIRE PREMISE OF THEIR GAME IS BASED ON* so much so that they just reduce them to good guys and bad guys, and in the worst cases like the Samurai and Wu Lin, literally just shove them off to the side like they don't exist anymore as factions either good or bad. It's why For Honor is in the worst state it's ever been in since the pre-CCU patch as well because that laziness has bled out directlt into the gameplay the past 3 years which just rubs salt in the wound for anyone who has played the game since day one. What they've done would be like going up to someone, punching them in the face, stealing their bike, and your saying people should be....OK with that, and not say anything bad, or do anything back to them and act civil even though they have just punched you in the face and stole your shit? Nah, that's just a weak mindset and that's why they have continuously abused the game and community for all these past 3 to 4 years. The only response to people whose blatant entire goal is the complete destruction of what came before them is just venom, because all they produce is venom as well.
