I think it's the point of the song... The original is kind of lighthearted and not at all serious. This one... Deeper, more emotional because of who and what it is about.

I've been listening to this on repeat all day, damn it's just so good. Also the more I listen the more country she sounds. I didn't notice until I went back and listened to the original. Or it could be since I have a country accent it just sounded normal to me.
