For us the card cut was off on several boxes. Not sure about the "quality" but the cut has been very bad on a number of pre-release kits we've seen.

At my prerelease today, three of my packs had two non-foil rares in them. I was completely dumbfounded.

Opened a box on PR got one of each of the shock lands 5 mythics and 2 foil rares

Box I opened PR night only had one shockland, but I did get the big four mythics, and a foil Kaya. For pre-sale price, I'm happy.

My friends and I all got pretty hyped for the set when a single pack one of us opened had an Angel of Grace and a foil Seraph of the Scales. A good $50 right there, at least when I checked it at the time.

My regular cards started curling within hours of opening the packs, the foils I'm not sure about because I usually put them right into sleeves. Some of the packs were not even sealed well and were partially opened when I opened my boxes. Other than that I have not seen any print errors but have seen some that are cut strange or are not cut cleanly.

The cards from my pre-release box were curved straight out of the packs. Like, obviously curved. I was pretty shocked.

Hey Rudy, or fellow Rudy like people on here. I’m just getting into playing mtg casually with friends. I like to have a handful of functional decks to play with so I buy random packs and sell a few higher valued cards to buy more packs, or cheap singles of the cards I need. Anyways. In my prerelease packs I got a foil incubation Druid and 3 shock lands. Do you think it’s worthwhile to tradem in now or wait a month to see what’s happening? Will cards like those ever really drop so low they aren’t worth anything?

Rudy, I'll be honest I think this set is going to do well, my local game store held their pre-release and we had about 40 people in shop 27 in the tournament. I know it doesn't sound like big numbers but that was the liveliest I've seen the place in months. Multiple people bought boxes and everyone was enjoying the set. It may just be hype city but I haven't had this much fun playing in a while. Also went 2-2 on my first tournament so I was quite happy :D At a minimum I was happy with it and no one had any real complaints about the new mechanics.

My friend built a mazes end deck back in the day and beat me with it, it was awesome :D walled my monsters off, stalled and got gates out. Cool way to win

All the cards me and my friends opened on Pre-release curled. All the cards. Not just the foils

gruul definitely has the most usable mechanic imo. Along with some solid cards. Simic feels better for other formats. Also foil multipliers say a lot for certain uncommons and rares

This is the first time I am seeing nearly two identical boxes. My friend opened 2 on Friday and pulled doubles of everything. Today, my other friend opened 3 boxes and almost got 3 of everything with the exception of 2-3 rares. This seems intentional on WotC’s part.

My box was great, but man, my cards curled immediately. And not just the foils. I usually dont complain, but seriously, in 5 minutes they were totally warped.

I feel like this will be a good set to invest in, depending on how much they print. A lot of these cards are going to end up as EDH staples. Cards like the following: Simic ascendancy is a one card win-con that demands an answer for 2 mana. It's useless in standard, but will go in every blue green EDH deck around. That foil one he has will probably go for $20 in a few years. Revival // Revenge is a similar rare that is going to shoot up in value for EDH decks. Same with Teysa, Repudiate // Replicate, glass of the guildpack, all the shock lands, incubation druid, etc...

I got 4 mythic rare in mine , Hydro Krasis, skarrgan hellkite , seraph of the scale and dovin grand arbiter ! (7 shock lands) , The value is yet to change but hydro krasis and spawn of mayhem seems to be the expensive cards of the set SO FAR (sunday)

The only thing i want to know is where do people buy the boxes online so they can be shipped over...

I like the artwork direction in this set. It has less soft edges and some of the cards have a wackier feel. Don't get me wrong. There are still lot of CG style going on, but it less blurry and the motif is more focused and less busy.

I agree with you about the booster art. When I first saw one of the boosters pictured I thought maybe it was just because I didn’t have the final artwork Yet but then when I actually saw the boosters I was shocked. It just seems so plain and doesn’t look good at all. It should’ve been multi colored or maybe even a different color would’ve looked better but that blue dress looks so cheap and it looks like they didn’t put any thought into it. I’m just wondering whose idea was it when they were talking about what the booster should look like to say it should just be a plain light blue color

I know that the human brain is oriented for pattern detection that may be inflating this . . . but those boxes had what seemed a few too many duplicate rares. Just my opinion.

Pack art also struck me as odd. Probably part of Wizard's/Hasbro's focus-grouping, i.e. make things as middle-of-the road and standardized as possible to appeal to the most general audience. On the other hand, the card art on this set is fantastic. Really loving the old school Ravnica aesthetic.
